First of all, why focus on doubling your money in just a single investment? I mean sure it can give you, but your expectations should be directly correlated with the amount your investing. Anyway why 100%? I'm not saying that 100% or 200% isn't achievable when you're investing, but it will take a long time to happen UNLESS you're a futures trader then it's possible that you can get it in a shorter amount of time. How long it's going to take? To double your money, it will take years assuming that you're not into futures trading.

As for your question, yes small investor can make good profit for Bitcoin, and the term "GOOD" depends on whichever person you will be asking. If you invested $1000 right now, held the coin for let's say 2-3 years and sold it during the bull market then there's a big chance that you can double your money. I mean what kind of assets nowadays could double your money in just 3 years? The Stock Market on average gives you around 7-8% only, and other assets are a bit lower.

As for your next question, there is another way to make money with your Bitcoin, and that's using it for futures trading. Of course, it's not recommendable, but you can also make money from it. Or just do spot trading if you want. Buy at the low, sell at the high.

well what you have said is 100% true bitcoin in my opinion is too high, although the top could be higher from today's price and the 4 year cycle might push the bitcoin price go high. But if you small investor you can still made a profit but it take long time like you have said earlier, you need atleast double the price from today, which is impossible. I think what OP is asking is whether small investors can make good profit from Bitcoin, not that small investors can't make any profit.
