I don't see reason why this is being difference from the centralised exchange. Just a way of twisting things and to confuse newbies in the space. I just can't fantom why people will be this lazy even with storing and securing their own funds and just have confidence in third party savings or saves and leaving to take full responsibility of their crypto portfolio but just enjoys having it in someone else's custody.
You don't have to be surprised, because lack of confidence makes some people act foolishly. They will be eager to know how to invest in Bitcoin, but when they are encouraged to try it themselves, some of them won't, as they will think they can't get it right even when they haven't given it a try and there is no amount of words that will make them give it a try. Instead, they will beg the one who taught them to do it for them. And maybe, if things don't go as planned, they will put the blame on others, when they should have taken accountability for their own actions.

That's is the reason why on no account we must try such or even thinking of taking such risk. The only thing we owe our friends or maybe someone we have been speaking to about Bitcoin is to encourage them to invest or whatever, we state out some basic facts they must follow and that is the length we can go. We don't have to kick start the plans for them because once that's done, you have automatically stuck your own self in it, because once anything goes wrong at the process you will be the one to answer. Therefore, it's better all actions and decisions should be done by themselves so that nobody will hold you accountable for any long story.

Yeah, because investing in Bitcoin takes one to have that personal conviction, there’s no way you can force someone to invest in Bitcoin if they haven’t really made up their mind, and even if they manage to invest because they’re simply following how persuasive you are, without really making up their mind, the moment things go south (which is pretty much possible) they’ll always blame you for making them lose money to the market.

We should restrict ourselves in telling our friends or family members about importance of Bitcoin, so that they can start doing research on bitcoin and find out themselves that whether its a good investment or not. If you convince someone to invest in Bitcoin and he faces loss then he will hold you responsible for that loss. That will also have bad impact on your relation with that guy. Before you try to convince someone to invest in Bitcoin, just keep these things in your mind.

Meself have encrypted password manager backups saved on Google drive, even if somebody gets access to this backup files, they can't do anything without knowing the password to access the file which is known alone by me — which makes this safe. Have good encryption password though.
Here is why I would never do this.

Google could be the first to get their hands on the most powerful computer to exist yet.  That would lower the security of your encrypted file by a lot, depending how actually secure that password is.

Even if that does not happen, by the time you realize what mistake you may have made in encrypting that file, it is already stored in multiple servers and there is no way you can ever delete it.  The older the file, the more likely you forgot about it and the more likely it was less secure than the file you backed up now considering you theoretically have more knowledge about securing them today than you used to.

Robinhood is now allowing recovery seed backup into their cloud he said, and when I checked I got angry 💢.
It's not even Robinhood owns cloud service.

I had to lecture this guy to never give in to any cloud storage backups, even if Robinhood own the cloud storage this is wrong.
To confuse him I had to tell him about what happened to me in the past storing recovery seed in a cloud account.

He was willing to take the risk simply because it is Robinhood, they are big he said again, but there is no such thing as been big when it comes to your recovery seed I told him, I think this will probably safe one or two beginners on here too.

Cloud storage is a wrong place for your recovery seed, do not be misleaded by centralised crypto companies who are acting like they know what's best for everyone.

I wonder why these exchanges think cloud storage could be a good feature for their crypto users.
Out of all, cloud storage is the worst place to hold the private keys to your crypto funds.
Some would argue it is for the convenience but then why sacrifice security for convenience.
When dealing with crypto, security should be the first and at the top of the list.

Instead, they will beg the one who taught them to do it for them. And maybe, if things don't go as planned, they will put the blame on others, when they should have taken accountability for their own actions.
A friend who I've told about Bitcoin 2 years ago called me during the peak of the bull run last year and requested he sent me money, so that I'll help him buy Bitcoin. Knowing fully well that it was a FOMO purchase and a trap for me, I declined and instead gave him a guide to buy it himself. The guy has not invested until this day. People don't want to take responsibilities, they want to have someone to blame especially when things don't go as planned and that's why you should never pressure someone to buy, always make it clear that it's their own decision to buy and hold Bitcoin.

Of all storage devices, it's cloud storage that they could recommend for their users and some gullible newbies and lazy users would hurrily make use of whatever recommendations the exchange proffer to them which they would not think straight to look into the possibility of it getting hacked in the near future. Such could be a convenient way to store their information for them but have you ever thought about the aftermath of any possible data breach? This is what people fail to understand and til it happens to them, they would never learn their lesson.

Many people have lost their money in the past by sharing the seed phrase on cloud storage. But the big thing is that you are able to inform him about this relationship at the perfect time. If he had not come to you at the right time, he might have shared the recovery seed phrase and lost his money. You have to be careful not to be misled by crypto companies so that you do not suffer losses in any way.

There's nothing wrong in introducing someone to bitcoin and doing so does not mean that you're accepting the responsibility of protecting him from scam cases and all. In the process of introducing the person to bitcoin, it's still in your place to give them proper guidance on how to stay protected such that Thier asset doesn't go missing.

As long as you didn't paint a perfect narrative to them and didn't make it look like they are coming into a system that doesn't have a limitation, if they didn't take Thier security seriously and eventually get into harm due to their negligence, they've got themselves to blame and not you. Remember you can also be a victim of your carelessness and would have to take responsibility for your actions rather than blaming a third party.

It’s a lot more better when they are the ones that came to seek information from you about how to invest in Bitcoin, then sure I can talk to such a person and give them better view on Bitcoin investment, but for me to just meet a complete novice and try to convince them into investing in Bitcoin, I’m definitely not doing that. Most newbies are most likely to mess up at some point, and not all of them knows how to take full responsibility for their mistakes, they always look for who to blame for their losses, and guess who’s closest to being blamed, yeah that’s right, it’s you who introduced and convinced them into investing in Bitcoin. So I try as much as I can to avoid such situations.

WDYM? Will Google be brute forcing encrypted files hosted on their drive with powerful computer they may get their hands on? Lol, they don't need to do that, plenty people save their sensitive files there without any encryption. Also, Google is running their business well ethically, why would they be shooting their own foot doing something malicious?

Its still the responsibility of the user to protect their asset its not the responsibility of the person who teach you, its like protecting your property or bank you don't give to others sensitive information, to other people even if their even look like a trust worthy person, if you ended up giving them what is not to be given then its your problem, and its your fault, as long as others give you what you want, its your responsibility to take care of the things you own not by others.

Yes, I don’t think it is possible to force someone to start investing in bitcoin you cannot force somebody to do something he does not want to do. You can only advise them and tell them the benefit of investing in it.
If you can force someone to do something, it means that the person has no choice and maybe you are his or her guardian or you are the one helping him out and he has no other option than to follow what you have said.

And it’s true when anything happens he or she will always blame you because you forced him or her into it.
It is very wrong to force someone to do what they don’t want to do, allow them make their own choices if they fail it is on them and if they should win, it is also on them.

Exactly. Investing in Bitcoin requires having that personal conviction and not just because the person who told them about Bitcoin is a great pitcher and was able to convince them to invest. Investment decision should always remain a personal one. One may educate people about the potentials of Bitcoin, but whether they’ll invest or not should be entirely their decision to make. When we force people to invest in  Bitcoin, due to how confident we are about Bitcoin, we could end up creating resentment and literally make us responsible for every wrong decision and outcome in their journey.

Absolutely you are right, the investment decisions should be made entirely by the person and no pressure should be applied at all. Our main priority is just to give the person the absolute reasons and the whys for them to invest in bitcoin and the values and benefits bitcoin holds currently now and in the future.
We shouldn’t forcefully push people into bitcoin investment even if we are confident about bitcoin because the market is a fluctuating place and the movement of bitcoin are uncertain therefore we should just let them understand the benefits and risks of bitcoin investment and they should make decisions by themselves and not us forcing them into it.

Sometimes, I even feel that we shouldn’t even do more talking and convincing, I mean their interest in it should be what should be driving them to even learn more and more from us. Not like I’m okay withholding information about Bitcoin, but the only persons I tell or teach about bitcoin investing are those who I’m very sure and have seen their interest. If I haven’t seen that interest and drive in them, then I’m not sure I’ll be the one on the other end trying to do all the convincing and showing the proofs of why people should invest in Bitcoin. It’s just not my thing.

Sometimes we ask questions on things we are not really sure of, and on the process you will like see the good ones who are willing to help you, and also those who will like to take advantage of you, and probably mislead you . It is wise to seek for help from the right place, and in the cause of asking for help be careful not to endanger yourself as you look for help. When it comes to Bitcoin investment, it is very risky to as questions or seek for help unnecessarily. Many people have been exploited because of asking for help. Several times I have heard, seen people who exposed themselves to more danger as they expose their Bitcoin investment to people, some happen in the social media where sometimes you will be deceived, and they will request for your security details putting you in more danger. Sometimes some investors ignores security tips which is the more reason they fall into danger of being deceived.

Bitcoin has its own risk and that is why we must not try to convince people to come and invest in Bitcoin. I have made this my rule that I only give advice on Bitcoin when someone asks for it and that advice is to best of my knowledge. Bitcoin already has a community that has members in every country, so there is no need to go and ask people to come and invest in Bitcoin. If someone invest in bitcoin on your advice then he will held you responsible if his money got struck due to bearish trend in Bitcoin market.
