Nigerian Leaders Don't Borrow with genue Intention.

Nigerian leaders has put Nigeria as a whole into heavy dept, and they borrow with the excuse they want to use the money for infrastructural development. Now, they will borrow this money to fund projects, and at the end they will end up embezzling the money they borrowed, and end the project halfway.
From the onset, we have had about embezzlement of various Nigeria leaders running into billions, and trillions of naira, and nothing is being done about it. It has become something normal for any one who finds himself in any leadership position to embezzle the country's money, and nothing happens.

There is money in this country Nigeria, but the problem facing us is corruption. If only Nigeria budget will be properly utilized, Nigeria will surely become a developed country in the next 10 years.

Nigerians really need someone to get us out of this mess, a nation rich in crude oil, agriculture, and many other solid minerals now suffer because of bad leadership.

Looting Nigeria money is one of the problems that Nigeria leaders have. There is an ongoing scheme going on in Nigeria called Abacha loot, this money was said to be recovered from the family of General Sani Abacha even after his death for many years, and after that, there have been other numerous records of looting from our leaders, such as the president, senators, ministers, Governors etc, and many of them cannot be recovered.
Honestly, money is not the problem of this country Nigeria, but upon the money that Nigeria has as a country, some leaders still go ahead to borrow from other countries such as China, and these borrowed money is not properly spent, instead they share it , and use the money they borrowed in the name of developing Nigeria as a country to expand, and finance their own businesses outside the country, and this is nothing but pure wickedness.

I understand why many people are concerned about government borrowing, especially in countries where there have been cases of mismanagement and corruption. It's just so frustrating to keep hearing the government make mention of billions and trillions of loans which would be announced for creating new roads build new hospitals and to date those loans where not been able to be accounted for by the government each day we keep hearing seems cooked and bullshit about those loans and killing how this government era is driving us into debts we have no idea of…the would should be asking those government are where are the Funds actually traveling to?

A government can borrow funds from other countries it not a bad sentiment and it should not be seen as corruption most governmentin the world do borrow a lot even with them still having strongand health economic growth they still take some loans…we have what is been called good borrowing which i see as building a bridge, power plant, railway that grows the economy more than the interest costs the debt pays for itself over time. And we have what is called bad loans this is what our government is doing right now because they are not able to account for the loans and they cannot prove the project for which the money is used…

I think it's okay for a country to borrow from other countries or international institutions, because It's also have its positives, although it also has its risk. The positive includes economic growth,  funding infrastructures and managing crisis, but in the case of Nigeria,  our government collects these loans and they don't put it to proper use. The leadership of Nigeria has been so corrupt thar they really dibt care on how these affects the citizens,  rather they are after enriching themselves.  If the borrowings of our leaders has been put to proper use, Nigeria will definitely be a better nation,  but like I mentioned earlier the government only borrow this money to share amongst themselves and they don't put it to proper use, that's why Nigeria is still backward. We still have a lot of unemployed people, insecurity issue, diplated infrastructure, economic failures to mention a few. The most annoying one is that they don't even service the loan, rather a new administration comes in and get more loan. This is what capture my attention from your statement above and its the truth. We ar blessed with minerals resources worth trillions of dollars yet we are still borrowing money as if we are a poor nation. We are not a poor nation and that makes me to think what is then is the importance of having those abundance resources buried under the ground if we cannot utilise them to make our lives better in this country. We have an abundance resources mineral,if these resources can be manage properly it can be generating billions for our economy and will not think of borrowing form other nations rather other nations will be the ones that will be borrowing from us. So I think our leaders have not been managing our resources well Which is why we are still borrowing money from world bank and other nations.  Our government needs to be accountable and manage our minerals resources so for we to stop this borrowing.

You could see the amount of money each APC governors contributed during the just concluded APC primaries that was held across the nation few months ago. How some state governors contributed 100 billion Naira and some other 200billion just to organize a mere primaries? That shows how unserious this government prioritize things that add no value to the general public to their immediate gratification. Because if had it been each of this governors used this same amount of money to renovate most of the abandoned schools and general hospitals in their states, it would have gone a long way to help the common people, but you will never see them do such, but rather to keep embezzling funds each time they are given an opportunity. And it speaks very bad of them, and the only way corruption could stop in this country is if death penalty is been given to public officials who steals public funds. Because by then people will be scared of stealing money.

This has been happening for a very long time, which I could remember in 2015 when Central Bank was open for politicians that comes to collect money for weapon which was used to campaign for that current government, our leaders don't care about us anymore, is only themselve and their family which is why they don't care on how the consequences will be when they are borrowing money. Your assumptions are not entirely true. Making such declarative statements such as any government borrowing money is a sign of corruption can only be a bold statement but not the generalization of the governments. Government borrowing money from foreign and domestic sources is never the main problem, the issue is the intention behind the loan which was collected and what it is meant to be used for. Collecting loans from banks and multinational corporations by the government is not the problem here but what the loans are collected for, what are they used for and on what terms are usually the major challenge.

Absolutely, this is now become the habit of every leaders in each regime of government, both federal and state government are borrowing money in the name of solving problems, which every body knows that they are the root cause of those problems.

How many set of leaders have come into power without borrowing money, and that has not been of any benefit to us. This is the hight of it, nowadays they see everything to be normal including corruption, injustice and so on, they have no conscious. If the loans are not meant for their personal use, Nigeria will have been a great country by now. Our leaders are not willing to make any positive contribution to our country. Debt is increasing every year, I wonder when they are going to repay all those debts.

Do you all know that at a time in the 1974 era, Nigeria did lend out loans to the world bank and the IMF  during the peak oil boom under General Yakubu Gowon's administration, with a robust foreign exchange reserve?

Retracing back to the present, we now live on borrowing as a country instead of growing and becoming more developed than other countries, we owe more than our great grand children could ever repay.
Every sitting president sees borrowing as a way to run this country, and the cabal sees oil as a means to make their own money, while leaders borrow to invest for their benefits and ignore major projects that should help boost the economy of this once great nation.

This isn't a tribal or religious sentiment, it's almost like a rite of leadership and the citizens bear the cost of bad governance because everyone is too scared to rise up and say NO to this bad system that is making the rich richer and the poor poorer, while ruining and leaving to reckless abandon, meaningful projects that should benefit the country at large.
