Well if we think technically Bitcoin is actually a cryptocurrency. Other coins apart from Bitcoin are called altcoins which means alternative coin, they are also cryptocurrency just like bitcoin.

The main difference between bitcoin and other coins is that, bitcoin is decentralized, store value, have limited supply and it is of high demand which is the reason why its price will keep increasing with time, investing in bitcoin for long will give good profit.

You made a point but you also admitted that it make sense to say all coins are cryptocurrency I don’t the see why you refrained from that statement and exempt bitcoin in your second paragraph.

Cryptocurrency is just a word that is used in digital world as digital form of money that exists only electronically, I am not sure if it wasn’t mentioned in the white papers but there is no a way and address can be generated without making use of cryptography, you can not remove bitcoin and say it is not a cryptocurrency because it uses cryptography tool like the ECDSA, SHA-256 and many other.

Bitcoin may behave differently from other alternatives coin but I believe every form of money that isn’t physical but works only electronically with those cryptography tool built in it design should be regarded as cryptocurrency and bitcoin isn’t an exemption

Honestly, I was going to argue that those who say Bitcoin is not a cryptocurrency are wrong, but from your well-detailed explanation, I understand now why they make that distinction. It is their choice to clarify Bitcoin however they feel satisfied with. However, since Bitcoin uses cryptography, I also do not think that Bitcoin isn't a cryptocurrency. Some don't know that the reason for cryptocurrency is Bitcoin; once you remove Bitcoin from cryptocurrency, then you have a bunch of altcoins that cannot be considered for recommendation or adoption. In my own opinion, the Bitcoin precedes the trem [ cryptocurrency] but it actually works on a different ways than almost everything that came after the bitcoin. You know the terms crypto is usually more convenient for many people or industries and the regulators, but it truly compress Bitcoin's name or Bitcoin's uniqueness. That was why alots of investors or bitcoiners today withstand the particular label not to be picky, but putting them together in the same groups causes much confusion for some people and that's why some folks got scammed easily. Many people call Bitcoin a crypto. But I personally think that when someone calls Bitcoin a crypto, they actually mix hype, token, scam, shitcoin together. So when telling newbies, it is better to clearly say Bitcoin. When you tell someone to invest in crypto, then others, especially newbies, can take the crypto you are talking about as altcoin, shitcoin, or even Bitcoin. However, you probably meant Bitcoin by crypto.
