As a  leader, it will be difficult to please everyone and no matter how good you may be, there are still going to be people from the opposite parties that will criticize your leadership.
So it is also impossible to find a honest politician that is occupying public positions and are not taking advantage for personal benefits.

See let me put it up to you according to my understanding in this political race, once a politician has spent money on the campaign, he must be expected to recover his expenses and then plans to expand his monetary network through reversing public projects funds to himself and his allies accounts.

You can not just have a genuine or transparent leaders but of course we can still have someone with good vision for the people.

I believe corruption can be fought, even in a country like Nigeria, but then it requires more than just promises from leaders
Strong institutions, an independent judiciary and the citizens who hold public officials accountable are all necessary for this change to be truly implemented.
Of course leadership doesn't automatically make people corrupt, but you see unchecked power, mixed with weak enforcement of laws and a culture of impunity can encourage corruption. Even while it is discouraging when those meant to fight corruption are implicated in it, lasting change is still possible if institutions are strengthened and both leaders and citizens are held to the same standards under the law.

I think that's the reality. People can think of thousands of solutions to combat corruption, but they only have one solution to combat corruption when they begin to lead, provided they maintain their integrity. Like you’ve rightly said, it’s actually everywhere but, it’s more visible in third world countries because, they do it with impunity, they don’t care what consequences there might be and have no regard for the law since it doesn’t always work in the same way with the cabals. This is very well known in our country Bangladesh where political leaders and activists basically commit corruption at the grassroots level and then get power at the higher levels and commit more corruption. Here, the people are mainly to blame because the people elect the corrupt and give them the opportunity to commit more corruption. However, it is a worse situation in our country where elections are basically held by the people only in name but the source of all power is the political party. Whoever the political party supports will be elected and after being elected, they freely corrupt and loot the country's resources. Only the people can resist them and only when the people engage in a struggle against them, all these political figures are forced to flee the country.

Unfortunately, countries with deeply rooted corruption are very hard to change. Corruption has become so embedded in the system that, whether we like it or not, it won't disappear overnight. Even if the administration changes, corruption can still remain because the problem is much deeper than just the people in power.

In many of those countries, a lot of politicians are driven by greed. I once watched a video that made an interesting point: you might be able to reject a $500,000 bribe, but what if the offer becomes $4 million? That's where temptation starts. For some officials, greed takes over once the offer is big enough.

It's as if, for them, if the price is right, they're willing to bend or even break the law. That's why I don't think this kind of problem can be solved in just a few years. In some countries, even half a century, or an entire century, may not be enough to completely eliminate deeply rooted corruption.

The average citizen sees in corruption the way to thrive, because he is tired of working hard to achieve too little, while corrupt authorities achieve fortune easily without any efforts.

Many have surrendered to corruption for that reason, but also because they are weak minded individuals. Therefore, it's important that each person becomes the leader and guider of his own life. You must be your moral compass, and not the politician, the religious leader or the boss.

When you have settled strong principles and values within yourself, you are still going to be temptated by the system and will get neurotic on many occasions, but will feel stronger to reject the dirty offers and proposals which aim corrupting and enslaving your soul.

Leadership can be effective if the leader puts the public interest first and acts for the common good rather than for personal gain.
From several books I’ve read, the history of leadership is always included to explain to readers that a kingdom or leadership will either thrive or collapse depending on whether it is founded on self-enrichment.
The economy will experience positive growth if leaders govern with compassion to provide equitable services—building what is still needed and preserving what has already been established well.

Many economic disparities occur in countries around the world because leaders and their officials prioritize personal interests, which ultimately leads to corruption.

Perhaps overthrowing such regimes could bring a breath of fresh air for change, even though the current global leadership system is not determined by presidents or prime ministers. The stories of JFK and leaders from the Middle East can provide insight into how this system was formed.

Those corruptors can attack the clean officials easily and using their family which is their biggest weak to forcing them not doing anything to those corruptors. It is the big problems so far and makes the clean officials can't do their best because they are prevented by corruptors from carrying out their duties. I hate to say this, but almost all of the politicians around the world have stolen something from the tax payer's or the people's money. Some are relatively small/controlled and unnoticed, while some are just too greedy and corrupt.
IMO, all politicians are corrupt, they only differ on how much of a corrupt they are.

Leadership of countries do vary from country to country, there are peculiarities among countries but there are always theories to support those claims and those differences in countries. Despite the differences and the peculiarities between countries, you will still find similarities between them, either at international level, regional level or subregional levels. Let’s take the Horowitz Ethnic Party theory of ethnicity and how politicians use ethnic identities and differences to further divide the country for their cheap popularity. They also used campaigns such as resource control and restructuring to enter the people and buy into their emotions just to achieve their own ambitions and further cause conflict and agitation among people. These are the things that are affecting leadership today and before we can clean it up, we will need to have more people who are willing to change the system.

I believe a country can fight corruption but only when the cost of being corrupt becomes higher than the benefit of being honest. Replacing one politician with another rarely changes anything if the incentives and level of accountability remain the same. History has shown that even countries that were once know for corruptions have made significant improvements but that didn’t not just happen over night or because a single leader appeared from somewhere. It only happened through stronger institutions, transparency and consistent enforcement of the law.

That’s why I don’t think the real question is whether Nigeria or any country is too corrupt to change but whether there is enough political and public will to build institutions that make corruption very difficult regardless of who occupies public offices. I think Corruption is the main reason for the destruction of economies of many countries and it's only reduce when honest leadership comes and its courage the honest enforcement officers to do their jobs and protect them from public threats. In corrupted countries many honest officers threatening them through their families. So officers don't perform their duties properly and people perform their illegal activities publicly which produce mash for both public and government and it's impact is so high that effects the economy of the country. Taking action against corruption is the most important duty of government and if leadership becomes honest then the countries like Nigeria move on the track of progress and also the fighting against corruption is not only the duty of government because public responsibilities makes huge impact to reduce corruption.

There's no system that allows corruption. Or have you seen where corruption is allowed in their constitution? No. It's always a well written constitution. But people will always be people. Corrupt people will always be corrupt. Good people will always be good. Power doesn't corrupt but the people who wield it are corrupt. If a good person wield it, he will do good things. If a bad person weilds it, then the bad things happen. Simple.

Power has a way of unveiling the true qualities and intentions of a person, A person can pretend to be Godsent for a long time until he achieves his desired status and starts executing his intention all along. Almost every political system is corrupt, it is always about the lesser of two evils and not the greater of two goods. We always choose what is or what we feel is the lesser of the evils presented as candidates.

On an honest standpoint, a person who is totally good cannot even make it to the candidacy for public political offices, there are lots of godfatherism and interests which must be validated and those commitments shapes the pattern of leadership when elected into offices. There is always a mandate to be fulfilled and only if the stakeholders are having the interest of the people at heart would their elected candidate perform well. If we must achieve a far less corrupt representatives, then we must start by having good stake holders who value humanity over self-interests and that includes us as well, so that the the candidates produced would have less responsibility in the selfish interests of the insiders and focus more on working for the masses.

This thing is common in every country but some investigate it and some do not, due to which there are many countries which are said to be not involved in this corruption but here this work goes on from the ruler to the lowest level to the common man. That is why many become poorer and poorer because their means of livelihood become less and they do not have any such capital. Corruption is a very bad thing, if it is not in any country then we can see that that country can be poor but will not be in poverty. This is the thinking of the ruler if he is doing something good then he will also do something bad if he is not fond of publicity then he will act honestly if he is fond of it then he will also do something dishonest which will also bring chaos in the country and the living environment will also deteriorate. You did mentioned Nigeria, at first I had something else in mind to say but not until I saw Nigeria in your topic, that's where I lost it all, the problem of Nigeria is very big, more than what many people thought.

By the way this is my own opinion, it doesn't have to affect you if you unless you hate truth, I'm sorry to say this but it's the truth, the problem with Nigeria isn't about the politicians and the leaders but also the people in the country.

Nigerians don't value integrity, they worship money, even if the money is ill gotten they don't care, it's in Nigeria that parents will take from their daughters who are just in their 20s to survive, even when they turned into prostitution the parents don't care.

If Nigerians are getting their daily breads from corrupt leaders they will do all they can to justify the man's actions, even if they find proof that the man is truly corrupt they will protect him,  because of that daily bread they are getting from him.

Corrupt leaders are not aliens. They were groomed in a society that is corrupt. In my country, citizens expect political leaders to steal and enrich themselves and their cronies. Your family members, community, and friends expect you to become rich after gaining political power. You would be insulted, attacked, and even killed if you fail to enrich people fraudulently. I know a politician who was banished from his community because he refused to illegally site an industry in his hometown.

Such a society would always produce corrupt leaders because such illegalities are accepted by the majority. A handful of powerful business owners supported and sponsored the election of Donald Trump. It is reasonable to say that he would make policies that would benefit his donors even when it affects ordinary citizens negatively.

You talk about Nigeria here, but we have been hearing in the news several cases about corruption among political leaders in Spain, involving not only Ministers but also former Presidents and family members of the current one. Even the former King Emeritus was involved in suspected fraud and receipt of bribes.

I want to believe that there is a lot of people who dedicate themselves body and soul to a public profession out of an honest conviction and commitment to the common good. I suppose it is simply that, as they do not share a selfish motivation, they are in an unequal condition when it comes to accessing a leadership position. Natural selection, as some would say.
