I didn't watch women's world cup, but from what I observed in the world cup which has just finished is that Spain had a balanced rate of efficiency between defense and attack. They didn't have that mortal offensive power of France, and their defense wasn't the focus like of Paraguayan national team, for an example, but they were still quite efficient in winning games.

It makes me believe balance is the key in soccer. Some teams worry too much about defending themselves, while others worry too much about being efficiently offensively, but they forget that both are necessary along a championship in order to become victorious.

I don't understand why you would expect the opposite of what is supposed to happen? Spain was supposed to win this based on how their team is, so they just did a bit of a better performance compared to what is expected. It is not like Spain was a massive underdog and now pulled out a miracle, so I find it strange that many people act like it was a surprising outcome or unusual for Spain. Perhaps also more than Spain performing greatly, there was a massive under performance of Argentina so when combined with this you get a big difference in performance like that. Spain has basically dominated that whole match and not even the help of referees has managed to save Argentina,  and anyone who is smart about this will agree that Spain deserved this win a lot more than Argentina did.

They aren't prepared and they are not a great team. Argentina should have not been in the final, they had to pull a lot of strings to get many good decisions that are like miracles that saved them many times in many games. Also the way that the teams work is different, Argentina is centered about focusing on individual exceptional players but Spain is focused on every player being excellent. That is why they had a much better play as a whole team than when you compare it to Argentina.

I actually didn't realise that their women's team also won the World Cup title this year.

Actually, I was only focused on the male world cup that I didn't even realise that they were holding their own, or was it held before that of the males? I honestly don't have any idea about female sports, but the fact that Spain won both of them really is a great feat for them.
