This ideology of yours seems pretty impossible for those students that don’t receive large amounts of money from their parents.Anyways, those nepo baby can meet up their basic needs in school and the leftover money can be used to buy bitcoin, then again most students have skills that fetch them money on a regular basis in school, those set of students can also start up their investment using their personal money and when their parents send them their weekly/monthly allowance that one would be used to coverup their essential needs.Lastly,in my own perspective I would say that students shouldn’t start into what they can’t afford to continue/finish,one can build a decent portfolio through consistent accumulation.Though this doesn’t relate to investment but a lot of students have been addicted to gambling because it was introduced to them by their peers.

It is very possible that a student decided to invest in Bitcoin even while in school. Still, we have to understand the way some country operates when it comes to student opportunities and employabilities, Nigeria is a kind of country that does not aid in support of this, but in foreign countries, you will discover that every student is eligible to be enrolled in one or two job they are still doing to earn a living, come to think of it, any student who already invested but lack is source of income may later fall back at his investment to meet up some needs as the demands may come, this is why students must also afford to have something they are doing that could generate them income.

I believe it all boils down to the choice of the student, the only thing I can acknowledge other countries is there minor employment opportunities present to the students that meets minimum wage but same cannot be said about this country but if a student In Nigeria is willing to invest in Bitcoin, I think go ahead, there can always be after class jobs, but more recommendable is starting a small business that can provide profits for investment.

Small business can even be done from the comfort of your home, it won't blow up instantaneously but gradually

Investing as a student that have no source of income may not be easy as you are making it look like because things are easier said than done. Since you investment depends on what you are given for upkeep, your investment will be quite difficult to sustain because if your the money is not on the higher side, financial pressure may compel you to sell prematurely.

Investing is not a bad practice, but if it's not done the right way, you are definitely going to lose some money, because doing the right thing the wrong way or the wrong time will never end well, so it's best to wait until you start earning a income for yourself before you proceed in your investment journey.
It just depends on the kind of student. The amount of money some students receive from their sponsors is enough to cover their expenses and even have some balance that can be saved or spent on whatever they wish. For students like this who earn very well from their sponsors, it is possible for them to invest in Bitcoin. But for those who are given just about the exact amount of their school expenses, it can be very difficult to hold Bitcoin because if an emergency occurs, they have no choice but to sell their Bitcoin. However, for those who come from a financially stable family, it is possible for them to hold Bitcoin.

It depends on the financial strength of their sponsor or the student, there are some students without a sponsor they take care of all their bills themselves, running some shifts combined with their studies it will not really be easy for these set of students to go into investment as they could barely survive due to financial struggles, while some students receives allowance either weekly or monthly just for self keep and their fees in not inclusive these set is fit for such investment but the issue is that it will not cross their mind to, and even if it does they will not want to engage on it, they will prefer to spend the money on some unnecessary things, also this approach will fit in perfectly for those student with a good paying skill.

The most important here be say if the students get discretionary income wey then go used take invest for bitcoin. There are students wey fit figures out there discretionary income from the money wey there parents send for them for up keep. The extra money wey remain for this there upkeep money , they can decide to put am for bitcoin investment.
Student fit balance there bitcoin investment even when then no get source of getting money, by being careful how they spend there money. Just like waiting the OP mention that make student avoid to dey spend money on things wey no dey important for them by this dey fit get discretionary funds to take invest in bitcoin. Moreso, the DCA strategy go dey suitable for them since they fit start with any amount using the DCA strategy. To sum up everything, student wey sabi how to manage there finance fit be able to balance bitcoin investment even when they no get source of income.

Students in the university should be encouraged to have an investment that is giving them additional income aside what they get from their parents , this will not only help them to concentrate to study it will also give them more sense of belonging to remain focused and not depend on the government to provide employment for them since they can create employment opportunities for themselves and others through their business or the ideas they had developed during their time in school.

In addition, having an Investment would make them not to depend solely on thier parents. It is just like those who dropped out from school,  if they had invested in something even though thier parents doesn't have money to sponsor them for the main time, they can sponsor themselves at the same time praying for thier parents to get a better job. Instead they feel that since their parents is providing all their needs, there is no need of stressing themselves Forgetting that their parents might go broke someday. so as a student it is important to have something doing it is more like a backup Incase your parents is not their you can easily sort yourself out.

A student without a source of income will be fully dependent on his parents or guidance, so when such individual want to go into bitcoin investment he won’t be as aggressive as those with proper sources . And his accumulation will be base on whenever his receiving his allowance , but in his such case he would be mindful on how he shares his earnings or that allowance like putting more percentage on expenses, then whenever his left with some leftover it can choose to use that left over to buy whenever he can .

Don’t misunderstand my point..

A student that has money to smoke, drink and go clubbing at the same time , have the money to start atleast little investment and Bitcoin is no exception..
My point is focus on students, that can’t even afford to do all those stuffs because they are always left with little to no funds left after paying up their school bills.

If any student falls in the first category, then they have no excuse on not having any investment upfront their graduation.  Any student that falls in category B and still doing what category A s are doing is not serious about life  Grin

If a student can spend money from his school fees on immoral habits like smoking, drinking, etc., then he can also invest a part of that money if he wants. Because, if he can save some money from the amount of money he spends on these bad habits and invest it, then he can get involved in investment right from his academic life. If he can gain something from this investment, then that may be a reason for him to get out of addictions like smoking and drinking.

Because, by investing, he will understand that if it is possible to gain by just controlling his habits to some extent, then he can gain more if he gives them up completely. If this thought is once developed in him, then maybe he will be more interested in investing. Although it is not easy for our Nigerian boys and girls, it is not impossible either. Because, I believe that people are never slaves to habits; rather, habits are slaves to people. So if a person wants, he can give up any bad habit very easily.
To be honest, if a student is interested in investing, then the student can give up all his bad habits and use that money for investment. To buy Bitcoin, it is very important for a person to first have an investment mentality and also have money. If the student does not have an investment mindset or money, then it is never possible to manage investments consistently.

To start investing in Bitcoin, a person needs to have an investment mentality and also have a prudent financial management. Bitcoin is a long-term asset, so to be successful in investing, it is necessary to invest consistently and it is very important to hold it for the long term. If a student gives up his bad habit and uses that money to buy Bitcoin consistently and waits for a long time, there is a possibility of making money. However, in the current situation, it will be very difficult for most restaurants in Nigeria to invest consistently.

Investment Amount and Expense Amount Division:

1 Suppose you are given $30 for monthly expenses or for your hand expenses and you are able to find $10 discretionary income by spending all your expenses. You can invest with this $10, but it would be foolish to invest the entire amount.
Check the current exchange rate of $30 and it will be around #41,000 if I am not mistakened.. Being a 9ja bro, am sure you are very familiar with the current economic situation, especially the stress and the kind of suffering that a Nigerian student go through.  There are handout to buy, textbooks, departmental dues, faculty dues, personal expenses, all kinds of levy and whatnot... Now how then do you expect this Nigeria student to cater for all this responsibility, and still have money for a long term investment...Lets forget Nigerian student in this case and come to you OP, can you even live on #41,000 in a two week after you settle you personal needs and that of your family, be honest? With 41k as discretionary income, the chance of investment becomes very slim, except there are other means of generating income...

Not all students need a source of income before they can invest. There are some students who their money for upkeep monthly, is more than enough for them and they will still have extra funds left with them after paying or settling their necessities and wants. Those kind of students can actually invest with the extra funds they have and won’t have any issues in keeping up because they have or can have all they want without having to work.

I don't think it's a good idea to rely on monthly upkeep to invest because there's no way such student can catch up with his/her investments. Mind you upkeep money isn't money you earn by yourself, it usually come from family members or another person as a support. You see that kind of money won't work for investment because anytime maybe people sponsoring you face difficulties, it would definitely affect your investment. Whether you're a students or not, never depend on someone else money to invest, it's advisable to have your own source of income for investing.

As far as I know, it is impossible for a student without a source of income to invest in Bitcoin because students who do not have enough naira are not eligible to invest. We all know that discretionary income alone will not suffice as BTC investments require emergency funds that a student cannot easily generate. However it is true that he can save his monthly expenses and invest because even fractional amounts can be purchased to invest in Bitcoin, i.e., a few thousand satoshis can be purchased for just a few dollars, so it is clear that if any student has the opportunity to earn Naira, then his opportunity to invest in Bitcoin will not be diminished because he has enough cash flow to consistently purchase BTC.

He can invest with money from his family, maybe he will not be able to keep an emergency fund, but he can definitely invest. If for some reason his family stops giving him money, then he can stop his investment in the middle and start again after he gets a job. But if a person is interested in investing from his student life, it will be more helpful for him to continue in the future. Because we know that the next stage of education is when a boy gets involved in employment, life is no longer easy for him. In the present era, there are very few boys who are not involved in drugs. But most of the boys are now involved in drugs, that too from their student life.

In such a situation, if a student is interested in investing, he invests with his disposable money, it is definitely right in my opinion. He can decide his life goal right now. Yes, he may not be able to invest in such a complicated way, because he has no source of income, but when he can, if he invests at least some amount, then in such a situation, if he sees it in 5 years, he will be able to accumulate a good amount of BTC. It would certainly make sense to start investing from student life.

What you should understand is you don't have to force yourself to invest whether in bitcoin or any other investments, if you are not financially stable. How is it possible for someone that is not earning on their own to invest? You must have something doing so that you don't have to wait for someone else's money to make your investment grow.

As you are waiting for monthly upkeep, don't forget that there are still many other things you will need to take care as a student. And no matter how hard you try to reduce your expenses, if you invest that money you might end up struggling financially and that's a bad habit of any investors because that can lead to panic selling.

You can see that someone like that can't make a successful  investment because there is no way he can keep that money when suffering from financial problem, he will definitely make use of it and maybe in lost, or just get the money back without any profit.

It is not advisable for someone to invest in Bitcoin without also trying to keep an emergency fund aside. What if an emergency comes up later? How is that person going to solve the problem? That situation could force them to sell their Bitcoin, possibly at a time when the market may be down. If they have to sell during such a period, they may end up selling at a loss, which does not make any sense. Therefore, anyone who wants to invest in Bitcoin should should try and  also build an emergency fund along . If they cannot do that, it would be better not to start investing in Bitcoin at all, because they may end someone regretting it later. Before anyone starts investing in Bitcoin, they should think carefully about their financial situation so they do not regret their decision in the future. Some people have ended up selling their Bitcoin at the wrong time, not because they wanted to, but because they did not have a stable source of income that could consistently provide enough discretionary funds to cover their expenses.

Let's be realistic about this, we are Nigerians and we know how difficult the economic situation of the country is presently, there Is no way you can expect students to invest in Bitcoin especially when they don't have a source of income. A lot of them depend on others to get money and you cannot expect them to invest what they are meant to spend to keep them going.

Unless the student some type of business that they are running there is no way other way that they would be able to invest in Bitcoin without it. You need to have a source of income to actually make this possible.

This is what I even explained here  , I won't advise students who are low wage earners or unstable wage to invest in bitcoin. Instead they should just focus on their education and feeding. If any student decides to do beyond their means whereby the have low income, I dont even think they will hold for a long time. To even build emergency fund as student isn't easy except, your relatives gives you big pocket money where you can take out spare funds and use it as  discretionary income (one for buying bitcoin while the other for emergency savings).

Be realistic and put all those values in Naira instead of of dollar..
There’s absolutely no reason to force investment if you don’t have any source of income yet.. you can save up instead to start but before starting, you need to ask yourself if you can afford it.  Going after some immediate profit in Bitcoin will humble you and you might eventually sell in loss.

Invest with some sense not because everyone is doing it and you must.. there are different options but Bitcoin stands out.
The best advice for students who are still being sponsored by their parents or under scholarship is to look for services they can render within school premises which can get them extra money instead of thinking about how to squeeze money out of their feeding expenses, which, with the way the country is, money is never enough for an average student. They can invest today and be hit with reality in just a few days or weeks, and they will have no other option than to sell that bitcoin below what they purchased it for because a pressing need is at hand.
