As we all know, the number of scams is increasing every day, and people are falling for scams.
We thought the newbies were the only ones falling for scams, but it turned out that advanced crypto users are also falling for them because the scammers are evolving and changing their methods. If you see any of them, make sure you double-check and verify.

List of the trending scams that you should know about:

  • Imposter Scams (Most Common): Scammers pretend to be banks, government agencies, delivery services, or even family members. They create urgency: Your account is frozen, act now!, these are confirmed scams in 99% cases.
  • Investment & Crypto Scams: Fake crypto exchanges, AI trading bots, or guaranteed high returns. Victims may see fake dashboards showing profits, but withdrawals are blocked later. These are confirmed scams in 99.9% cases.
  • Online Shopping Scams: Fake brand websites offering huge discounts (60–80% off). Victims either receive counterfeit goods or nothing at all. Any offers looks too good to be true is kind of confirmed scam in 90% cases.
  • Romance Scams/e-whoring: Fraudsters build online relationships, then ask for money citing emergencies. Victims often lose large sums due to emotional manipulation. Never send money to anyone if you don't know them personally.
  • Job & Task Scams: Fake job offers promising work from home, high pay, no experience. Victims are asked to pay deposits, training fees, or perform boosting tasks that require upfront payments. These are scams in 99% cases.
  • Prize, Sweepstakes & Lottery Scams: You’ve won a prize! but must pay fees upfront. Legitimate lotteries never ask for payment to claim winnings.
  • Family Emergency / Grandparent Scams: Scammers pretend to be relatives in distress (I’m in jail, send money). Exploits urgency and emotional pressure. Do not hurry, always double-check before you send money.

There are red flags based on the types of scams you should check for. If you spot one of them, stop responding and double-check.

Common Signs of Online Scams:

1 - Pressure & Urgency: Act now! or Ends in one hour - Scammers use false urgency to stop you from thinking clearly. Threats like Do this or you’ll be arrested are always fake.
2 - Payment Requests: Deposits to unlock earnings in task scams (common on WhatsApp/Telegram) are a trap.
3 - Fake Shopping Deals: Too good to be true discounts (60–80% off) on branded items often signal counterfeit sites.
4 - Suspicious Communication: Emails/texts from unknown senders asking for personal info. Lookalike domains, for example: yourbank1@y0urbank.com instead of your bank.
