Is Relying to a previous post an offence

As a most to do thing for all new members in this forum and community, I have read the rules and regulations of both the Forum entirely and the Nigeria (Naija) local board, there is something I found confusing and hard to understand which is, whether it is an offence to reply to a post after you don answer or reply ahead of that post?
Waiting I mean be say for example I don answer or reply post for page 3 and later I come see post wey I want reply for page 2, is it an offence if such thing happen.

But however, many post dey wey you go respond on if you check another thread. You go understand how certain things be with time.

Technically yes, it is an offence, because before you make your first reply to comment on page 3, it is a responsibility to have read the entire thread and all the comments, so you are supposed to have spotted the now-page-2 post that you want to reply to.

You should have quoted both the second page and made a comment, and quoted the page 3 comments, and posted them in a single comment; that way, you reply to both pages in one comment. That is it.

I recently learned that doing so could be consired as spamming. In my experience, it’s best to edit your previous post and add the new quote to it if that makes sense.

To be fair, in the past year that thread has mostly been filled with introduction posts. I don’t really see people having discussions there.

You don't need to keep replying to people one by follow, what you would do is to quote them in one single reply and post it without you spamming. What you are trying to do is spamming, except someone quote you on what you said and either possibly do not understand you and would want you to throw more light to your explanation then you will quote him or her back to continue discussion but you must not keep replying everyone gradually or one by follow.

In addition to wetin you talk, if maybe you don already reply a certain thread and later come see another reply wey catch your attention and you get better thing to respond or contribute to the matter again, maybe based on fresh reply wey you see for the same thread, I go say e no Dey bad but it go better if you qoute that very person wey him reply catch your attention and respond directly to that very person, except maybe maybe you still wan reply to same thread, the best thing to do for this kind case na to go to that your previous respond on the thread and edit, then add the new tori you wan add, but incase maybe the thread to get long pages like above 5 or 19 pages, I believe you fit still qoute yourself but always make am clear say you want visibility make people fit chuck mouth put for the idea you wan drop

Instead of trying to make the second reply stand alone on its own why not just edit your first reply and add whatever else you want to say in it, this is far better than stacking post after post, replying to things that came even before your very first reply, for me I just edit and add it the second reply by using the "Insert Quote" button, you can try to quote the second quote, preview it, go back to your first reply to edit it, click on the "draft" button and you will see your previously previewed posts and you can just copy the one you want from there, it's far better than having to make a new reply.

If you have truly been following up with a particular thread, you would have read through and quoted all the necessary replies you need to talk about, this can be from multiple members that already contributed their own reply on that same thread, but for you to have made a post and later go back to be quoting other previous replies shows that you are either spamming or don't even take your time to read through what others are posting before you made your own contribution.

If you can ask some experience members on this forum, you should be able to tell you that something similar to this case has happened before that a member was observed in such behavior good thing previous replies unnecessarily, it is even better not to quote than you doing so, you can check on the last page replies and follow up the discussion to know what you can contribute in, but not going back to previous pages to be quoting on replies, another thing is to mutually drop your opinion without even making a quote at all.

I get your point mate but just as I been talk for my post, I been say if your first response  don already tey and maybe for the sake of visibility, you fit still qoute yourself and talk wetin you wan talk as long as the talk Dey related and make sense else na to just make a new response.

The forum Dey always encourage good communication and good discussion, so as long as your response go Dey educative and informative, e no go still bad to drop the post but incase the post or thread don Dey dormant for more than 3 months, the forum Dey always advise make we create new thread rather than raising a dead thread.

This is what I think is the best approach to his questions because everyone may have that period when he eventually remembers what he could have wanted to contribute about a point which he omitted and can always come back to the thread. Using the edit option is better than making a new reply quoting such post which you should have replied to together with your first post. You can insert in your previous post and you can also indicate, edit, and. Everyone who sees the post will have his attention drawn to the new version which you have created. Using the edit option will help reduce spamming which is where the offence can easily come from. You can also choose to ignore and go to other threads or other replies because this forum is large and almost every point you may think of can also be raised by someone else if you this it's an observation, read other people's comments to be sure that no one else has made such points about the post in page 2 which you have omitted.
