Nah, I haven't had any mistakes in sending Bitcoin to a wrong or incomplete address, just like this guy https://www.binance.com/en-PH/square/post/22340318740250
After seeing this post, I suddenly remembered this funny clip. I'm not sure whether everyone in crypto space has seen it, but I believe a lot of us have, so might as well share it here.

Has anyone here ever accidentally sent Bitcoin to the wrong address? Or has anyone ever received Bitcoin from an unknown address and suspected that someone had sent it by mistake?

The fact that Bitcoin transactions could be a little more complex than traditional banking, and it is irreversible, means the first thing we wanna learn is to triple check the address before hitting that button.
I don't think any of us here are that careless, you don't want your BTC to end up in the lucky hand. Also, I think sending Bitcoin to the wrong address is carelessness rather than accidental.

I don't recall ever sending Bitcoin to the wrong address, nor do I recall ever receiving Bitcoin in my wallet by mistake, but I do recall an incident that may have been posted here in the forum for the ATOMIC wallet.

A user discovered a vulnerability in the wallet where he mistakenly sent Bitcoin to a Dogecoin address. The wallet is supposed to give an error message when a Bitcoin address is entered in the wrong format, but it did not, and Bitcoin was sent by mistake. The wallet acknowledged the error and compensated the user.

As far as I know I have not sent anything to the wrong address, but I have read many cases on this forum. It is usually a copy/paste mistake, having selected an incorrect network, and many others.
Thing that is scary is that there is no customer service to call like there is with banks. By the way I mostly send a little test amount first for big transfers. I know it adds a small fee, but it is worth it to not lose everything because of a mistake.

In the past, as a newbie, I used to wish I got Bitcoin mistakenly sent to me. Knowing what I know now, I don't want that to happen. It could be a trap. If it happens, I will be scared to touch it. We know how things can be traced onchain and I don't want to be linked to any criminal enterprises. Nobody should wish that.
Despite the risk involved, most folks would wish that an unknown Bitcoin arrives in their wallet.

It is riskier to leave the Bitcoin in your wallet if it happens. The best option IMO is to send the Bitcoin back to the sending address this time as the recipient.

Bitcoin is too valuable for someone to intentionally send it to an unknown address. If it thus happens, believe it or not, it was done by mistake, or it's a fake Bitcoin that wants you to try sending it out so that they can profit off your transaction fee.

I will always keep advising that we should send small first for test transaction, this saves a lot to avoid expensive mistakes. Most especially you are about to send to a new address for the first time. And what we should always consider again after copy-pasting the address do well to check it word by word to avoid mistakes. With just a few seconds you are done checking but a lot of individuals see it as stress and this few seconds can make u loss your funds at the end of the day.

I wish someone would make a mistake and send me a couple of bitcoins ))
Have you heard yourself?  you wish that to happen because you will gain something from it, but have you ever thought about how you'd feel if it happened to you?? Losing something you've worked so hard for is devastating. I know the feeling because I've been through it myself... years ago, I also accidentally sent my holdings to the wrong bitcoin wallet address and even after how many years, the regret is still here. some acquaintances tell me to move on, but it's not that easy when you know it could have been avoided if i'd been more careful that time...That's why I wouldn't wish that kind of loss on anyone because once you've experienced it, you realize how painful it is.

Has anyone here ever accidentally sent Bitcoin to the wrong address? Or has anyone ever received Bitcoin from an unknown address and suspected that someone had sent it by mistake?
Usually, if someone makes a mistake in a bank or any other financial institution, if the fund send to another number, it is possible to get the money back by contacting. If the same mistake is made by a Bitcoin user, then that money will be lost. In the case of Bitcoin, if a wrong address is entered in a transaction, there is no way to get that asset back. If it happens that another user has forgotten the address, it is different. But normally, if you make such a mistake in using Bitcoin, you will definitely lose money. Here, you should verify the address repeatedly before making a transaction. If someone is infected with malware, that is also a different matter, but from a normal perspective, if you make such a mistake, you must give value for that mistake. I have never received Bitcoin from an unexpected wallet and also never sent it by mistake.
