I’m pertaining to a regular spin(without hitting bonus feature). I read that thread and I assume it was a regular spin hitting a bonus feature due to the game involved although I maybe wrong here.

So, you mean a pure regular spin without the influence of a special feature. I don't even know if that exists or is possible to happen in the slot game universe. Even if it did happen, maybe something fishy happened in the background. In your case, you said you watched it happen to a streamer a few years ago, which makes me think that the streamer had a partnership with the casino for marketing purposes. It's a common thing for casinos to partner with streamers by giving them special accounts.
BTW, I also tried to explore Reddit to find one, but it seems all of the regular spins that hit max win came from free spins triggered by a regular spin. A max win from a pure regular spin sounds impossible nowadays, or maybe it has never happened since the beginning.
On earlier version slot games pre pandemic, buy feature is not popular on slot games at least that’s what I can remember playing slot back then with limited game provider.
That’s the reason I created this thread since there’s already a lot of game provider already while bonus feature is commonly being highlighted on slot nowadays.
Edit: I found one on reddit
https://www.reddit.com/r/Stake/comments/pdhll0/max_win_on_fruit_party_in_the_base_game_10_spin/Replay:
https://replay.pragmaticplay.net/5v9EWpf8QKIt’s been a long time since I watch a huge or max win coming from a regular spin not from bonus buy or any featured spin.
That's simply because it's much less likely, though not impossible.
That’s true.
However, due to the popularity of slot games and the way it can be played on fast phase. That small possibility makes me curious if someone still hit this kind of win on current slot games version.
But I understand your point. I think the decision to buy a bonus or play normally comes down to personal preference and the type of slot machine. Sometimes it depends on each player's experience, and often it's just intuition; we don't know if what we think is true.
Which normally purchasing bonus feature is the top choice since most gambler has low patience. Game provider knew this exactly that’s why they intentionally lower the RTP of bonus feature compared to the theoretical RTP of that specific game provider on normal spin.
Like this sample which is Sugar Rush 1000 of pragmatic. It’s a small percentage difference but considering that bonus buy is a bulk spin those small percentage can be noticeable on many attempt.
