Not only France, several other countries also prohibit social media for children, this is a good prevention considering that now social media is full of indecent content, even ads that are inappropriate for children to see.

15-year-olds should focus on learning at school, playing without gadgets, but honestly now because of technological advances, maybe most children already have cell phones.

Children can be taught about bitcoin through cartoons created by the Tuttle Twins. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL5vUVQvmX4

They should have made it U18, children under the age of 18 not to use social media.
Let's face the reality of this very post, even if you talk about learning of Bitcoin it still has something deep that they are preventing their children from (could be porn related). For me I don't think my child or any of my children will own a phone under the age of 18 because what they learn online I mean the crazy things gets in very fast and they'd love to practice it, that's why you hear some cases of a 16 year old charged for rape or murder, they see these things from somewhere, if not their friends who saw it online or it could be what they have seen on their own so the mind need to be mature enough (I know is not every child that will stay responsible) to use these things, when there no control things they see gets in their mind.
What the France government need to know is that, is not by putting it to law that will help, the parents will have a bigger role to play for this to happen because I have seen the kind of flashy phones little children are holding, look at the World Cup and see how kids are holding the latest iPhones, is crazy to see how some parents encourage some acts. My question is, how long will this last in France? Or are they using it as a diversion to something?

Social media is doing more harm than good to the minds of the younger generation and every country should do what France is doing now, children under the age of 15 have absolutely nothing to do on social media because their are a lot of things on social media that have the potential to corrupt their minds and actions, children of this Generation are pretty smart and parents shouldn't leave them with any gadget that can take them to social media unsupervised and honestly I don't even want my 18 year old on social media because they are still a young adult and many things could go wrong if they are exposed to the wrong or negative thing on the media. We grew up with zero access to the media and we turned out pretty well so I will do the same with my kids too.

Usually I'm against various kind of restriction and government wanting to regulate our life too much. But this one was needed and I congratulate France with their decision. Too much screentime has negative impact for children, especially when you see what kind of stuff they're watching there. I would be more radical and ban TikTok until age of 18 because it causes brainrot.
Next question what to do with adults who addicted to social media and when it already got out of control Smiley

I dont have a problem with the idea but the truth is that I do not think it will be as effective as people expect. Majority of the kids of nowadays know how to get around age restrictions either by using someone else’s account or change their age.

A ban might help reduce exposure but teaching the children how to use internet safely will have a much higher impact in the long run. That is why I feel the parents still have the biggest responsibility in this matter.
Some always will find way to bypass it, but I'm sure it won't be easy. Maybe we  even will see KYC on suspicious accounts or something similar.

Life shouldn't be about Bitcoin! Bitcoin! Bitcoin!
Exactly, I don't even know what this topic have to do with Bitcoin. Let children to have to have proper childhood.

Children below the age of 15 are now banned from using social media in France; this is to avoid further exposure that leads to vulnerability to what the opened to, and this access has been restricted to children who unknowingly reveal some information or are exposed to certain things online.
Yes many countries now take it seriously. I think it's COVID, who became the reason of introducing among the children about social media. At that time due to online classes children become familiar of different apps. But after COVID, parents are become careless and they less monitoring  their kids about the usage. As time passes society has experienced different psychological, traumas, bad behaviours, intense tantrum and much more social evils. After lot of research it cames to know that all the results of social media platforms. As youngsters growing they are not looked mentally healthy, but they have victims of different gaming apps or different platforms. Today it is impossible to monitor their kids at 24hrs a day. Because kids are smarter than us, they can make the account by entering wrong ages. So even all precautions it is good step if government introduce minimum age requirement for social media. Like what is happened in France.

You can teach your children to learn about Bitcoin and crypto, and also let them understand the essence of privacy, while the random use of social media should be discouraged because the uncensored content they will come across on social media is not suitable for their age.

This is happening in France, and if we could recall how there have been increasing crime rates being traced to crypto-related attacks and kidnappings in diverse attempts, France is taking advanced steps to ensure that the citizens are safe from the assault of the public exposures that is made through what they do online unknowingly to them; it could be an entry point for an attack.

Children below the age of 15 are now banned from using social media in France; this is to avoid further exposure that leads to vulnerability to what the opened to, and this access has been restricted to children who unknowingly reveal some information or are exposed to certain things online.

This move is really impressive, children are mostly influenced by what they see and watch on social media. There was a video that was trending on tik-tok some time past, the video came with a song that girls use to dance seductively, one morning I was passing along my corridor, I saw my neighbor's daughter dancing to the video and imitating exactly how they used to dance it on tik-tok, that scenario immediately struck my into my head that this child has been exploring the internet and consuming contents that are not for her age. So this action taken by the France government is a welcome development for me, our children still deserves to live as children.

Children will always be children and they cannot have the full ability of self-control the way and adults could behave when it comes to social media use, this is where we must limit them to what they should do, we should also take our time to orientate them I'm not just assume they should know when we are not using them through on the necessary things that should be done or avoided from the use f social media.

It is everyone's responsibility to create a positive environment for young children to grow up. In this case, it will be most effective if the government takes some steps. Those who are responsible for managing the family should definitely pay attention to this issue. If children can grow up properly, then that child can become a good person in the future.

Children of the current generation waste a large part of their time just watching social media or video streaming. Some children, due to their excessive understanding, can also enter many illegal platforms. If such children can be prevented from using such devices even by a government law, then it will definitely have a positive impact. They should be kept under control until a certain age especially when they learn to understand by their own self, they will not need to be cared for so much.

This is a right move in the right direction. What I see in social media these days makes me thank my parents that I was born earlier when the society was still sane. Atleast I learnt morals, Iearnt respect, I learnt discipline and Iearnt contentment. If I decide to misbehave now, it is just me misbehaving and not as a result of failed society.

The government has done their part and it is now left for the parents to implement. Without the parents, how will the government know the age of the child in this world of rapid growth?
Even if social media put in their ToS that it's only for 16+, children will still click agreed when asked if they are above 16 and continue.

So, my take is that since government has done theirs, parents should implement and hand over any defaulting child to the authorities. The government actually wants to save this generation, I pray that parents will corporate and make this possible and easy.

Those kind of bans are hard to enforce in the reality unless the country have policies like China, but banning them is not the solution to shift their focus towards something educational, it should comes naturally to the kid, so the schools should start educating the importance of being productive as easrly as possible that will help them to grow old with the similar mindset and not to waste their time on scrolling useless posts.

This law is in the right direction. Children below the age of 15 still have a long time they need to learn anything that is linked to social media. For now, there are more age appropriate things they can do.

If the parents have failed in their part to regulate the activities of children on social media and tbe overall Internet, it is never a bad idea for the government to step in to regulate what is gradually turning into a menace in the society.

We should not use Bitcoin as an excuse to prove why children of that age limit should be on social media. Parents who wish to teach their children Bitcoin can do so without exposing them to social media. It is just a gradual process for their age

Restricting children bellow 15 years is a good idea to regulate what they view and assimilate from the social media daily, this should  be a global concern and should be generally accepted by all countries all over the world to face out the experience that has damaged the lifes of many children, it is good if both the parents and the government will work together to make this work. Live in a society where there parents can provide all the informations need for there children to use social media by all means even when they are not the one's who registered the for the children to gain access to it.
Giving the children Early education about Bitcoin trading, holding should be among the investments we should give our kids instead of allowing them to be waisting time and Data doning nothing online.

Banning the kids is a good one and it will be easy to enforce with the help of police, the parents and schools where the kids spend most of their time, if the kids are not banned giving them something else to focus on may be hard for them to do but if the parents cooperates with the police to ensure they scare them to obey the order of the government they will see the need to focus more on educational materials which would help them to achieve their dreams.

The school environment should be monitored now if they want the development of the mindset of the kids cause after taking their focus off the social media they need to give them something more reasonable which would help to shape their life and make them to be more useful to the society.

The decision that France took is a real concern,  social media exposes young minds to inappropriate content, privacy risk, online predators, cyber bulling and they are not mature enough to handle all of these. There are children who share their personal information without even understanding that how someone can miss use that which can cause problems for them and for their families as well.
Technology is a major part of education system so teaching children  on how to use it safely is important rather than restricting their access and parents should supervise their child they should set the limit for the screen time and they should have parental control and regular conversation about the online privacy and safety, with the growing age they will gradually learn how to recognise scam and how to deal with them.

That issue of maturity plays a vital role in anything we do today, although this time around maturity is no longer measured in age but by behaviour of the person involved. Many that are matured in age still goes about making mistakes those that are very young won't make but that is never enough reason to expose children to knowledge greater than them all in the name of exposing them to the technological aspects of doing things.
On this i will say its a great development because the level of information contained on social media is bigger than what children can accommodate so depriving them access is the best decision.

That's why, children don't just understand when they are being corrected once, as their brains to comprehend to things as fast as adults, so if we don't guide them things they need to know and how to manage themselves when in such situations,  as they won't be easily fall apart. Its gonna be a stressful work now but the blessings thereafter is what motivates one to keep training them and how to care or stand up for themselves.

You can teach your children to learn about Bitcoin and crypto, and also let them understand the essence of privacy,
Life shouldn't be about Bitcoin! Bitcoin! Bitcoin!

Social media contains positive resources and negative resources, but as a child, they choose to watch the negative ones that aren't helping them learn.

I wont stop speaking on the disadvantages of social media app monetization because children these days prefer to scroll on TIKTOK rather than using the educational materials share their. When I was growing up, one of my favorite TV channels was Discovery and documentaries. Learnt a lot about animals and the science of the world, but at present time, children prefer to watch other irrelevant things, including censored and adult content.
I had similar experience growing up, I never joked with this Channel and NatGeo wild because I was very interested in animal discovery, how they are cared for and their natural habitats, but such is not obtainable in today's world.

Early exposure to social media is actually turning children to morons because social media is messed up currently and contents low on value and morals are easily accessible than educative ones, so I love what France is doing beyond even privacy leaks. If there is a good documentary a parent wants their children to watch, they should give it to them by themselves so they can monitor the kind of contents these children consume in their formative years. 15 years is good for a child to start using social media, at least they would've gotten a bit matured to use it positively based on how they've been groomed from childhood.

I think that banning social media alone will not solve the problem completely. Now many children share personal information through games or other apps. Honestly considering the current situation, it is a difficult thing for us to stay away from the internet, even though for children, because nowadays nothing can be done without the internet. So, it is more effective to teach from childhood what should and should not be shared online than to just block a medium. There are many more things in the world besides Bitcoin, I would say that first we should tech our children the difference between good and bad, I mean morality.

It's nice to teach children about bitcoin but we can always guide the children better to learn beyond bitcoin. Of course they can literally learn about educative contents online such as online research.
Social media had really been a corruptible network place where children are negatively influence and tend to call it entertainment.
It's also been confirmed that some parents actually wishes their children to begin explore from their early stages probably underage but they also fails to understand that the child can be misled with the privilege. In the other hand, social media has also been a community to enhance or encourage children to feel suitable in the advanced digital and technology world today and had also served as means of connecting people and discovering of talent.
This is through isn't enough reason to give underages the privilege to scroll round the internet. Especially the social media.

France should Revisit that ban, it doesn't make sense, this is interest age and everyone kids should be involved,  they can ban them from using phone during classes or school time. But total ban is not a wise ideal,  every child should be able to learn AI skills for future purposes. You can't learn Ai without social media, the government can do better to educate thr kids against some contents on the internet today.

Many kids are already breadwinners through social media,  they are making money from it and are not relying on their parents to survive.  France should Revisit and regulate some of the contents in the country.

Before teaching your children about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, it will be beautiful if they can also know the basics of Passive income and Active income. That should be a first time. Yeah, I see the Chinese involve and teach their children about Ai from small but I believe they have gone through a whole lot before all that. That said,  I believe the French and supportive for the first time about this I'm seeing. I have no idea of their intentions but 15 years should either be in the library reading books or solving mathematical problems not galavanting online.
