Would you love to get more education, exposure and networking from experienced personalities in the crypto field? Then here are some events and conferences you can attend in Nigeria.

1. Naija Bitcoin Conference
Website: https://naijabitcoin.org/nbo-conference/

This conference stands out amongst many because it is a Bitcoin specific event. For this year's conference (2026), it is going to take place from 17 to 19 of December in Lagos, Nigeria. The program aims to educate and expose you more to development and innovations around Bitcoin in Nigeria. Some previous speakers in the past events includes: Emomotimi Agama, FCRM (DG of SEC in Nigeria), Oluwasegun Kosemani (Bitcoin Architecture and node specialist) and many others. Will you attend?

2. Lagos Blockchain week
Website: https://lagosblockchainweek.ng

This year's conference is scheduled for 7th to 12th of September, 2026 in Lagos Nigeria, the specific address will be released as event draws closer.  There are so many things to expect from this conference such as workshop sessions about Bitcoin , Defi, keynotes, panels, networking session, etc. Some prominent figures and speakers have also featured in past events and will also feature in this coming events.

3. Web3 Lagos conference
Website: https://event.web3bridge.com/

What I find cool about this conference is that it can be attended physically and virtually. The aim of this conference is to build the next generation of blockchain innovators from Africa and beyond. If you are interested in Bitcoin and blockchain technologies you should try this out. The event is espected to take place physically at Glover Memorial Hall, CMS Lagos, Nigeria on the 27th to 29th of August, 2026, attend if you can.

4. Nigeria stablecoin summit
Website: https://www.nigeriastablecoinsummit.com/

Don't be fooled by the name of the conference, it does not only cover education and workshops about stable coins, it extends to Bitcoin and other crypto related activities. The event is scheduled on the 30th of July, in Oriental Hotel, VI, Lagos.

It is also worth knowing that most of these conferences are not free to attend, meaning that you need to buy a ticket to attend. But I think its worth it as it will bring opportunity for networking, learning and many more.

Disclaimer:
I wasn't paid to advertise or promote these conferences. This content is merely for educational purpose.

Great, this conference will enlightening you more , in 2017/2018 I attended a seminar although it was for general knowledge of cryptocurrency, I learned different aspects of cryptocurrency marketing and bitcoin products, we learnt trading but it was not sufficient knowledge to try anything on your own. What they do is asked all their students to bring laptops and we do instant trading of btc with them but I need to know more, ever since those seminars all my trading experience do not give good results. Please is there conferences or crypto academy online courses where someone can be learning?

I’ve never heard of these conferences before but it’s really cool knowing they actually exist even though I don’t think I would like to attend any of them.
Most of these events you mentioned are in Lagos All of these events are in Lagos and yes that’s expected but I think there should be other crypto related events in other states as well, maybe they just don’t have enough PR for many people to notice them.

These kinda conferences and events are really good places for networking with people that are into crypto and even crypto enthusiasts for someone that need the kinda physical connection and networking but for more education and knowledge I’d prefer DYOR  rather than conferences.. imo.

Yes na my first time be this wey I dey see am too, I no even know say E dey exists for my country sef but any way, this thing na very good thing and better innovation wey go bring development for our people well well about cryptocurrency. As u said, if to say this kind program they happen across all the states wey dey our country, seriously the thing go male sense, because E go make many people wey no get even single knowledge about cryptocurrency, go know am very well and be more educated. Anyway I go still go search on am make I pick one or two things from am. Why I said this thing good be say, some people just dey look for all this kind of opportunity to attend something like this, so that they go develop interest towards cryptocurrencies.

I’m not so hype about crypto events or meet-ups in Nigeria. I have been to a few in my early days, and in my experience, the organisers/speakers are always shilling some shitcoins, exchange, or trading academy. The “Nigeria stable coin summit” mentioned in the OP is obviously not going to be any different, their goal is to shill their project. They do not care about crypto development in Nigeria.

The reasons why I stopped going too, these speakers and organizers be wanting to have referrals register under them or trying to make those who come for the event pay or subscribe to their trading academy where these innocent people will start paying and learn nothing or lose a lot of money in their trading journey then blame them for everything.

The only section I can only subscribe to is to go learning tech, how to integrate tech with AI and build a blockchain based project, conference in Nigeria won't teach you that, only to gain referrals or put you in their bounty groups where you perform tasks under their referral link.

I agree with you, many of this people making up events about crypto in Nigeria are just having something else in mind not promoting or boosting cryptocurrency in Nigeria for popularity.
Their motive about crypto conferences and meets up is always them promoting one or two  projects of themselves and they don’t give a damn how the other projects are doing all they want is us having interest on their projects and taking part in it and they just try to convince people that they are trying to build the crypto industry to another level. We should know their motive and not all of them can be of a good use to us.

I think there have been several conferences in such man and both all the specified mostly about blockchain and digital opportunities without concentrating more attention on Bitcoin or even cryptocurrency a large.

These are corporate organizations and NGOs that said they aim to provide digital knowledge to people, and it could definitely serve as a background study for those who are new to advanced digital Technology and the Bitcoin network to have a starting ground, but I will also, in addition, try to make it more directed towards a Bitcoin initiative learning program or conference.

Knowing that there is nothing you can do today when it comes to cryptocurrency without involving Bitcoin in it, a lot of people still need this exposition about the Bitcoin network and how they could maximize every potential they have to know what exactly Bitcoin is all about and how the Bitcoin network operates on the blockchain.

I can understand how you feel about the whole situation and why you stopped going to places like that. sometimes I get discouraged to attend program like this too because of the things you actually pointed out which is absolutely true. The only  thing that keeps me going there is networking and not more of learning, those kind of places are mostly not suitable for learning but getting the best networking among the folks in the crypto world.
My take on the whole situation is that you shouldn’t give up, just keep attending but know your limits and what you’re chasing you might just be an opportunists one day and get connected with one person that would probably make a significant difference change in your life.

For years I have been hearing about series of conferences of this type with respect to anticipated discussions on Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. It is  innovative and I commend the organisers but they have to be dynamic by spreading the venues of this conferences to different state and not to zero in on Lagos State alone for the many years it has been holding.

With the ideology behind Bitcoin the venue can be decentralized to different States, at least in three States of the nations since not every interested person in the Northern or South East can have the resources which includes time and considering the insecurity situation in our highways is important to decentralize the venues.

These kinda conferences and events are really good places for networking with people that are into crypto and even crypto enthusiasts for someone that need the kinda physical connection and networking but for more education and knowledge I’d prefer DYOR  rather than conferences.. imo.
These are physical meetups, there are couple of them that are held virtually, in fact most I've attended are virtual summits. Summits are good because it gives you the opportunity to learn more and network with like minds. Networking is a good thing, opportunities are announced in summits like this which you can benefit from and valid resources for continuous learning can be distributed as well. I always like attending them, but I prefer online meetups because it's more convenient and accessible than physical ones.

Of course it's for information gathering and before you take action that involves your finances, you must properly research on the subject of interest. Scammers attend these summits too and lookout ways of preying on naive but optimistic crypto enthusiasts and you should be careful of who you network with and more cautious of opportunities and projects they may want to introduce you to.

Meet ups like these can be very interesting, it's good to meet up with people with more knowledge about crypto that you can learn from amd also share ideas but it's not for someone like me, maybe a newbie or so. There's nothing I'll want to learn there that I can't learn in this forum so what's the point.

Bitcointalk remains the best place anyone can learn about cryptocurrency but my major focus is on Bitcoin and in those meet ups they barely talk much on Bitcoin investment but hyped coins that could make me lose my money if I invest in them so going to those kind of gatherings is a no for me.

Whatever meeting that is, it is nowhere related to Bitcoin conferences and discussions. I do have friends and colleagues attending web3 conferences, trading conferences, and crypto gatherings, but none are fully focused on Bitcoin's potential. I consider this sort of gathering a waste of time, in the end, they are asked to pay for classes.

I also know of a guy who designed the website of a crypto page, a crypto company owned by a Nigerian, and this sort of event was usually organized, what they teach is introducing people to invest in shit projects, mostly altcoins.

The thing is while there are fewer specified tech events about Bitcoin, there are more about cryptocurrency in many states especially across top universities majorly web3 events but aside this there are even more and this is from almost every tech events.

In every tech events which I think happens in every states though might be fewer in some, there are others who are going to speak about Blockchain technology, crypto and forex trading, and thereby fulfilling a similar goal of what these crypto and Bitcoin meet ups are trying to fulfill.

I'm not disrupting the impact of these events although I don't plan on attending any constrained events about Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin but for those who doesn't have such around they could attend tech events as alternative.

Please is there conferences or crypto academy online courses where someone can be learning?
I would recommend the following for you;
Binance Academy
Allison courses
Learn me a Bitcoin

Depending on what and how you wish to learn, you can explore any of these sites and find the one that's most suitable for you. But if your learning is more focused on Bitcoin, then learn me a Bitcoin should definitely be the best choice. If you wish to learn through video tutorials and earn a degree in crypto, then you could focus more on Allison courses.

Well, I see your point. But don't you think you shouldn't use your past experience to rate these programs? Sure there are bad actors but we cannot generalise every programs without confirmation. I think Conferences like these serve as avenue for networking and where we can also meet like minds, remember, exposure is key. At the end of the day, if anyone promotes a shitcoin to you, you can always say NO, its as simple as that.

For the blockchain and web3 related conference they’re quite plenty and they’re in every state but for bitcoin explicitly that’s what I was taking about. I’ve also heard of and even once been to one of the web3 conferences but a conference for bitcoin  that’s what I’ve not heard of in Nigeria untill recently when I saw this thread.

The thing is while there are fewer specified tech events about Bitcoin, there are more about cryptocurrency in many states especially across top universities majorly web3 events but aside this there are even more and this is from almost every tech events.
  -snip

Web3 events are really plenty and I’ve also attend one of them before, they talked about bitcoin in the event also. I was just trying to reply another post when I saw yours and decided to also reply you.

For Networking physical conference are far better than virtual conferences, and it’s true that you might get to hear and see some opportunities in these kinds places which you can benefit from and in that case if you can’t make it physical you can be there virtually. I think attending physical events are better overall if you’re to attend any conference..

I have also had similar experience in the past were most of the presenters are ambassadors of their various projects they represent and it just gets boring when they give reference and keep mentioning their projects repeatedly til it got me thinking if they were there to really the all about the subject matter or they are just there to promote their projects because it became too obvious that it was noticeable amongst the audience. And these they get paid for it because they definitely have their team recording them to submit to their projects as get some regards for mentioning them to the audience.

You speak the way it is, for them to chill about their project and how you should partner with them and the benefits in the long run. All in vain; you are at a loss, spending your time and resources.

I second-guess that if they want this crypto development to work, it should be conducted across the whole federation, at least by zone, not in a particular city that does not make up the whole Nigerians. Like, millions of Nigerian youths don't know about this crypto conference and meetups in Lagos

It is also worth knowing that most of these conferences are not free to attend, meaning that you need to buy a ticket to attend. But I think its worth it as it will bring opportunity for networking, learning and many more.
Most of these conferences are not for free as you have stated, but it increase crypto and Bitcoin adoption across Nigeria, but privacy wise, I don’t think it is advisable because the government can take action and use them as a scapegoat because the government is looking for any reason to attack crypto since they don’t want to legalize it officially.

Most of these knowledges they will share can be gotten here for free, that is one of the importance of this forum, you can learn for free, and you can also ask question and get good response without paying a dime.
Nonetheless, I am also not discouraging attending such conferences, you can get networks and some important inform from these conferences because they also prepare well for these conferences to share educative knowledge about crypto and Bitcoin.

Thanks for sharing this important information because many of us never knew that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is already this big in Nigeria. It's unfortunate that all the conferences are happening in Lagos that is far from me and some of the people I know that are into cryptocurrency.  Maybe in the future they should consider shifting the venue of some of these conferences to Port Harcourt or even the Northern part of Nigeria because we have a good percentage of Bitcoiners in those areas.

I was expecting to see Gaius Chibueze aka Bitcoin Chief as one of the speakers because he is regarded as the first or one of the earliest African to buy Bitcoin.
