I like attending conferences though this is the first time I am seeing conference relating to crypto and Bitcoin, I have always been hearing of forex trading conference and few others which i have been invited to but I did not attend that of forex because I was not very interested on forex trading, but this very one is something I have always dreamed of i can vividly remember a day I was saying I wish they could organize a conference on Bitcoin related, but here it is nice one.

Maybe in the future they should consider shifting the venue of some of these conferences to Port Harcourt or even the Northern part of Nigeria because we have a good percentage of Bitcoiners in those areas.
Maybe we don't need to wait for them to come, we can start up something similar over here in PortHarcourt but with a little difference; that is, it should be free for anyone but participants can offer voluntary donation to help market the program and logistics associated with it. Also, there will be no shilling of shitcoin projects around it. What do you think?

Great, this conference will enlightening you more , in 2017/2018 I attended a seminar although it was for general knowledge of cryptocurrency, I learned different aspects of cryptocurrency marketing and bitcoin products, we learnt trading but it was not sufficient knowledge to try anything on your own. What they do is asked all their students to bring laptops and we do instant trading of btc with them but I need to know more, ever since those seminars all my trading experience do not give good results. Please is there conferences or crypto academy online courses where someone can be learning?

All these conference this conference that looks good and pleasing on the ear, but in reality you will hardly learn much from it because on most occasions, it's just a two days or maximum of one week seminar, and you honestly can't learn much in that short period of time.

In addition to that, they are only good at teaching the basic, because they believe that every one there are newbies, and we all know that you can't use the basic to do anything tangible in the market, if you are actually trading.
This is why seeking for personal tutor's and doing more research are way better than relying on these conferences to gain a deeper knowledge on trading and cryptocurrencies.

And finally, majority of these people that teaches in this conferences are not as good as we think, it's the entrance fee they charge for these conferences they use to live a good life, so it's more reasonable to look for a good place to learn about crypto like this forum, and a reliable trading tutors you can learn from.

Would you love to get more education, exposure and networking from experienced personalities in the crypto field? Then here are some events and conferences you can attend in Nigeria.

1. Naija Bitcoin Conference
Website: https://naijabitcoin.org/nbo-conference/

This conference stands out amongst many because it is a Bitcoin specific event. For this year's conference (2026), it is going to take place from 17 to 19 of December in Lagos, Nigeria. The program aims to educate and expose you more to development and innovations around Bitcoin in Nigeria. Some previous speakers in the past events includes: Emomotimi Agama, FCRM (DG of SEC in Nigeria), Oluwasegun Kosemani (Bitcoin Architecture and node specialist) and many others. Will you attend?

2. Lagos Blockchain week
Website: https://lagosblockchainweek.ng
This year's conference is scheduled for 7th to 12th of September, 2026 in Lagos Nigeria, the specific address will be released as event draws closer.  There are so many things to expect from this conference such as workshop sessions about Bitcoin , Defi, keynotes, panels, networking session, etc. Some prominent figures and speakers have also featured in past events and will also feature in this coming events.

3. Web3 Lagos conference
Website: https://event.web3bridge.com/

What I find cool about this conference is that it can be attended physically and virtually. The aim of this conference is to build the next generation of blockchain innovators from Africa and beyond. If you are interested in Bitcoin and blockchain technologies you should try this out. The event is espected to take place physically at Glover Memorial Hall, CMS Lagos, Nigeria on the 27th to 29th of August, 2026, attend if you can.

4. Nigeria stablecoin summit
Website: https://www.nigeriastablecoinsummit.com/

Don't be fooled by the name of the conference, it does not only cover education and workshops about stable coins, it extends to Bitcoin and other crypto related activities. The event is scheduled on the 30th of July, in Oriental Hotel, VI, Lagos.

It is also worth knowing that most of these conferences are not free to attend, meaning that you need to buy a ticket to attend. But I think its worth it as it will bring opportunity for networking, learning and many more.

Disclaimer:
I wasn't paid to advertise or promote these conferences. This content is merely for educational purpose.

I never also knew that such existed, and I think it's a good one. I believe it's an open opportunity for so many Bitcoin enthusiast to go get some oral and real knowledge about Bitcoin investment and innovation and or other related crypto projects and the likes.

My only concern is what SatoPrincess and few other members have pointed out. Some members who have attended and have seen some reg flags and negative happenings during such programs. When the organisers become self centered and things of promoting there projets and or getting more people to enroll in there trading classes and session and abandoning the real knowledge that the conference is sopose to showcase or teach. You know, people who went there with a pure heart to learn and further there crypto of Bitcoin knowledge will be disappointed and may lose interest in the next ediction.

Of course, we may not know if such will be repeated or if they are still the same conveners or organisers, so we can't really judge too much in comparison. But I believe if the organisers stick to the plan, showcase real knowledge, forget about self and teach raw information about crypto and it's future in Nigeria, am sure there are many people who would be part of the movement. It's just a matter of doing the right thing

Whatever meeting that is, it is nowhere related to Bitcoin conferences and discussions. I do have friends and colleagues attending web3 conferences, trading conferences, and crypto gatherings, but none are fully focused on Bitcoin's potential. I consider this sort of gathering a waste of time, in the end, they are asked to pay for classes.

I also know of a guy who designed the website of a crypto page, a crypto company owned by a Nigerian, and this sort of event was usually organized, what they teach is introducing people to invest in shit projects, mostly altcoins.
I won't discourage anyone that wants to atend not to but I know that must of those conferences are not worth it, and if they are not aimed at hitting deep into Bitcoin then what is it for, that is to say that the only reason the organizers put effort on such conferences is the money they will be collecting from the attendees for sure not for the impact to be made on each person.

Buddy what you have said here has made me to understand more things, but won't it be an insult to me, for group of individuals to organize a conference for me to go and boom they start telling me how to invest in shits, somebody like me that have gotten some level of knowledge about Bitcoin and what shits stands for, a Bitcoiner in that matter nah nah, it will be better for me to grow my knowledge with the daily news I get from Bitcoin magazine and this forum than to make myself available for something that is not worth my energy.

That idea is nice. I have attended a crypto project twice here in Port Harcourt; one was about a particular project, and the other was general, which was held in the City Crown conference room. I don’t know the organizer, but it was interesting.

If something like that is to be hosted, it’s not just something to be discussed in a forum like this; it’s also to look for a way to link with those crypto guys in PH, which I believe they have one small community for, and then invite a few speakers who can speak and share knowledge, but one of the main problems will be fundraising, not just about the donation for logistics; a conference hall in PH now costs a whole lot of money. and when some people hearing about crypto the next thing that comes to their head is that everyone involve is rich so security while making those plans and move should be prioritized

It's good that conferences like these hold in Nigeria, but on any crypto conference and meetup in anywhere in the world, if i am giving the opportunity to attend, i'd pass. The obvious reason is that i'd love to keep my identity separate from crypto, particularly because of the high risk of a $5 wrench attack.

Another reason i avoid these conferences is because it ends up being promotion for shitcoins and other shit projects, rather than discussing bitcoin. So, again i'd pass!

It seems only those who even have the funds to spare can even attend. When will there ever be a free summit like this in this country without gate fees or some kind of expenses to be made?
Nothing is really free in this country and from the looks of things, it seems only those who are into cryptocurrency hardcore both for their business and looking to make new connections can attend. Besides, it's only happening in Lagos.
What happened to the rest part of Nigeria? Why do only the best of summit and conferences and meetup always happen there and people always got to travel to such destination despite the security risk on the highway?

I have not attended any before and not also planning on attending anyone soon. The locations that they’re even holding is not a place I would want to go to for such events. It seems that is the state crypto hub in the country and no any other place is used again. They should at least be allowing for virtual participation for those that their locations are not closed to Lagos to enable all round participation irrespective of one’s location. If they continue to also shill shit coins in events like this, crypto enthusiasts like us that knows the repercussions of shitcoins will likely not have interest and would pass anytime we are such event.

I’m not so hype about crypto events or meet-ups in Nigeria. I have been to a few in my early days, and in my experience, the organisers/speakers are always shilling some shitcoins, exchange, or trading academy. The “Nigeria stable coin summit” mentioned in the OP is obviously not going to be any different, their goal is to shill their project. They do not care about crypto development in Nigeria.
Exactly the motive behind all this meet up thing is to sell you are product, I don't care much about those conferences I value my privacy and besides there is nothing to learn from this forks. The majority of the attendees are newbies in crypto who are looking for one opportunity or the other to make quick money through airdrops, and information that they get from attending such gatherings, there is no real knowledge sharing in these events.
