Investors who buy gold and hold it are smart investors, but those who buy Bitcoin with their excess funds/discretionary income and hold it regularly are even smarter. A retail investor can buy Bitcoin every week with discretionary income if they want. They cannot buy gold because they do not have the extra funds available. The biggest advantage of Bitcoin investors is that they do not have to be rich. Rather, they continue to accumulate Bitcoin and build blocks of future wealth and with long term efforts they reach the peak. Keeping in line with their financial capabilities and long-term discipline takes them to the next level.

Gold is a traditional and valuable asset that has been in demand in the past and is in demand in the present and will continue to increase in the future. The digital asset Bitcoin is becoming and gradually becoming that same asset. Credibility or supply shortage or widespread global adoption is taking Bitcoin to a unique height.

Investing in gold or bitcoin depend on each person's criteria and financial situation. We cannot say that those who choose gold are smart, those who choose bitcoin are even smarter, or that those who don't invest are stupid. Each asset has its own advantage and risk, and everyone has their own choice that suits them.

Bitcoin is more accessible and people can start with whatever amount they have. However, they don't have to be rich to invest in gold either. Gold is not that difficult to access and with $50-100, they can already own a certain amount of gold.

Actually, the adoption of Bitcoin between 2022 till today has grown so much, not just in America but even in other countries, but before now, there were older people too in the country who also believed so much in stocks, gold, and bonds and have invested so much in those asset and are still investing till now, while there are also lots of younger people now who have invested in Bitcoin. So, I don't quite agree that there are only 10% of gold investors; this probably depends on how the data was collected. It is not as if Bitcoin is a centralized asset where you can certainly know the exact percentage of investors without exaggerating, except everyone of them are holding their coins in centralized exchanges or platforms where it's easily known that a certain percentage of people in America have invested in Bitcoin.

I believe the primary lesson from these surveys is not that they are able to count each and every Bitcoin and gold owner to the penny, but rather that they gauge trends. Gold ownership is far more difficult to determine since any individual can hold gold in the form of jewelry. Coins gold bars gold ETFs or could simply inherit gold without reporting it. The amount of bitcoin held by people also can't be determined accurately because many people self-custody or maintain multiple wallets. The exact percentages may be subject to debate. But one thing is clear: the popularity and acceptance of Bitcoin. Particularly among younger generations. Are on the rise. The general trend seems to be more meaningful than the specific figures.

No, I think most investor choose Bitcoin for the potential profit, nothing more. That is why most of them waited for Bitcoin ETF to be approved, and many invest through ETF instead of holding it directly in non custodial wallet like we do.

Its all about profit, and they won't hesitate to move into gold if it offers better return. The proof is that when gold hit a new high earlier this year, most of the market's attention and money flowed into gold rather than Bitcoin. If you pay attention, you'll notice that many member of our forum were investing more in gold and silver than in Bitcoin at that time.
The investors who can't take care of their Bitcoin invested via those ETFs, those who know how to take care of their Bitcoin will always prefer to have their own personal Bitcoin wallets for top security and for their own peace of mind.

Yes, it's true that behind any investment investors mostly target to get best return on investment if they get such returns from Bitcoin they'll choose Bitcoin and if they get such returns or better returns from another asset then they'll choose that asset over Bitcoin. However, those who've studied Bitcoin deeply know that in long term, it's the best choice for investing than any other asset.

Honest, it is not possible to accurately estimate the exact number of people who own Bitcoin or Gold because since Bitcoin is not centralized, it is not possible to collect the accounts of all its users, so it is not possible to calculate it accurately, but this is not the case with gold, but people in all countries do not keep gold in banks, some use it as ornament for their own needs, it is never possible to collect information on gold purchases from all countries, so even if we want to, it is never possible to accurately tell the number of Bitcoin or Gold holders. Technology is developing, so at present, the common people are thinking long-term, and the number of Bitcoin users has increased much more than before and we have to admit that it will increase more in the future.

More Bitcoin Holders than Gold in America

I always feel the excitement whenever I see that there is more increase in Bitcoin adoption all over the world and people are showing more desperation to go for bitcoin the any other assets because of the various opportunities found under this decentralized digital network.

Everything about Bitcoin begins in 2009 and here we are today with massive adoption as the entire world are getting to discover more about bitcoin and gold cannot even stand the gap of the adoption rate people, institutions and corporate bodies are giving Bitcoin, I come across this information which gives the statistics that in America today, it was discover the rate at which their young adults are more in support of Bitcoin as investment asset to own over gold, I'm also confident that this will not only be limited to America alone but in many countries as well, where bitcoin is seen as a legal currency.

America is one of the strong supporters of bitcoin, that is why it is gaining widespread adoption, and attention there, and if we begin to compare bitcoin, and gold, we can see that bitcoin is far better than gold. For instance, Bitcoin can be used to make transactions, and purchases online, but gold cannot be used for transactions, and when it comes to profit making, Bitcoin has made investors more profit than gold, despite the fact that gold has been around for centuries. However, it is necessary to know that Bitcoin endorsement, and adoption has gone beyond the united states of America, and is already gaining worldwide interest, and personally, I have chosen bitcoin investing to gold because bitcoin offers many advantage that gold itself does not offer.

Not really surprising. Bitcoin fits the way younger people manage money today. Most aren't interested in buying gold bars or worrying about storage. Whether Bitcoin eventually overtakes gold in total ownership is another question, but the trend makes sense.

many people is still investing in gold especially the politicians and the people who owns a landed properties they always invest in good more than Bitcoin, so why I will say that young people does not have access to invest in gold it is because they have not gain access to invest in gold the way they have access to invest in Bitcoin, at this present time many young use like to invest in Bitcoin but but don't have the opportunity to invest in gold as they have to invest in Bitcoin, so that is the reason it look as if they are more interested in buying bitcoin instead of gold

The way you think is exactly how some of these old folks look at us, the young generation. Bitcoin being digital is not the only thing that made people choose it; there is more to it. If it were not tokenized gold entering the crypto market, there could have been a shift into that direction, but we still have Bitcoin holding up with its volume.

I believe it's more than just about accessible and preference. It's possible to purchase bitcoins with a modest amount of cash at an exchange. Alternatively in a wallet. And physical gold can be more expensive to invest in and may have storage and security concerns. That's very appealing to young investors who are beginning their wealth accumulation. Meanwhile, the appeal of gold persists among rock-star rich people and institutions due to its long-term use as a store of value. They're both valuable, but it's much more convenient for the average person to begin accumulating Bitcoin now.

You need to take special precautions when transporting and storing physical assets. Keeping Bitcoin safe requires a little technical knowledge. I probably understand what you are talking about. As you said every asset has its own advantages and risks and people have different preferences. I find Bitcoin to be easier to accumulate and a future proof asset.

In my country to acquire physical assets, you have to be rich and the security aspect cannot be ignored and probably is the case for almost everyone. I feel more comfortable with Bitcoin storage because it is an easy investment strategy. With higher risk, there is also the possibility of higher profits.

Bitcoin is more accessible and people can start with whatever amount they have. However, they don't have to be rich to invest in gold either. Gold is not that difficult to access and with $50-100, they can already own a certain amount of gold.
Exactly, and this is not only about Bitcoin or Gold, it's about any investment a person wants to make. If I know I have enough resources to get into the real estate market, and I know I also have enough knowledge about the real estate market in my country, why would I not do that when I know it can get me good profits even in the short run because real estate is considered to be one of the best investment markets all around the world, but it is just that not everyone can get into real estate because of the fact that you need a lot of money to even get started. You can buy a troy ounce of Gold with only $4,000 but you can't buy a land or a property with that amount, especially in countries where real estate market is booming.

So, it's definitely true that people make investments based on their financial capacities. Someone who can only afford to invest $100 will prefer Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies because they know they can at least make some profits with them since we know they are the most volatile assets in the world right now. One can also invest the same amount in Gold, but since the price of Gold doesn't fluctuate that much, the possibility of getting profits from it is lower than Bitcoin.

A little technical knowledge you say, the coldcard incident made me realize we need more than a little technical knowledge to properly secure our investment. Using a cold storage system and hardware wallets is not enough protection. It will take the best idea to ascertain the highest level of protection, with very little, you are still at risk.

I feel Gold has more worth when it is retained as a store of value, while Bitcoin has potential for investment purpose.

Also, that is the exact phrase which shows Bitcoin is worth more than gold as it is directly currency which will eventually become legal tender in the US second, I am guessing and once people realize that worldwide adoption by governments is happening, there will be a buying of coin we have never seen before.
The US is the last country I expect to make Bitcoin legal tender. A worldwide adoption by government will only make them buy Bitcoin to hold as a reserve, but not as legal tender. The US economy is closely tied to the USD, and they would not do anything to jeopardize that. Making Bitcoin legal tender can move the demand away from the dollar to Bitcoin, and this would make other countries use it for trades instead of the dollar, which would harm the dollar in the end. If the US makes Bitcoin legal tender, that means countries would be allowed to trade their oil in Bitcoin, so who suffers in this scenario?

I believe both Bitcoin and gold are valuable assets. If possible I would consider holding both. They both have a fixed supply and are in high demand, so from an investment perspective I prefer to diversify my portfolio by investing in both Bitcoin and gold.

The number of Bitcoin holders is higher because of its decentralized nature. No government can control our Bitcoin investments unless we use a centralized exchange. This feature alone makes Bitcoin unique and in my opinion, one of the best investment assets.

In the case of gold, however there are several challenges associated with owning and storing it in a portfolio. Therefore, I believe Bitcoin has become more popular than gold among many investors.

More Bitcoin Holders than Gold in America

Yes, I looked at Bitcoin user data in the US.
Quote
Around 49.6 million adults or 18.6% of the US population hold Bitcoin, while physical gold holders account for around 28.8 million people or 10.8%.

As far as I know, 80% of US tourists who go out, especially to ASIA, generally rarely bring cash, but most of them have digital/Bitcoin accounts.
I once asked one of the US tourists about Bitcoin, he answered that using Bitcoin or digital currency is much more practical, we only need a mobile application instead of having to carry a suitcase, ATMs are more complicated to manage, he said, unfortunately Asia is not the same as the US, acceptance or payment in Bitcoin is limited, except for certain regions in Asia, not completely.

We understand that apart from the largest Bitcoin ownership in the US and adoption, we are happy that Bitcoin is more perfect and can be spent anywhere, without limits.

There is obviously more adoption in Bitcoin  than gold globally and it is not surprise the case is nothing changed in America. Aside the edges Bitcoin brings to the financial world, Bitcoin also eases cost of storage and space, you can carry millions of dollar worth of Bitcoin yet no cause for security or escort. It is your money and so should be closer to you without occupying space. If you are to take custody of a million dollar worth of gold, imagine the cost and risk that would entail!

Exactly. Not putting all your eggs in one basket is essential in investing because anything can happen, and no one knows what comes next.

The number of Bitcoin holders is higher because of its decentralized nature. No government can control our Bitcoin investments unless we use a centralized exchange. This feature alone makes Bitcoin unique and in my opinion, one of the best investment assets.

Is decentralization really the main reason people prefer Bitcoin over gold?
Gold is also a decentralized asset, just in physical form.  I think the main reason is still return, and Bitcoin is the clear winner on that front.

Bitcoin may be more popular than gold among investors, but I dont think it is more popular than gold overall. Gold is still used and held in many forms beyond just investment.

There are many reasons that make Bitcoin more attractive than gold with many people.

Gold is physical and it's not easy to carry around. To sell gold bars, you will need to carry it to banks, jewelry stores for selling and it requires both time and cumbersome transportation, it's generally inconvenient.

With Bitcoin, it's digital, fungible, portable around easily and to sell bitcoin, it's very quick and easy too. You can stay at home and are still be able to sell your bitcoin.

Decentralization of Bitcoin blockchain makes it secure, supply model over time with halvings makes Bitcoin deflationary, and other things are all combined together to make Bitcoin as a more favorite investment asset for young generations.

The bullish case for Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is  an accounting revolution and it shook the world.

The method of gold is a little different, which is why it seems difficult, but in reality, no better asset has been found by ordinary people until now because everyone has their eyes on it and everyone wants it. Because gold has been around for a very long time and in the past, gold coins were used, due to which the one who has gold is a rich person, but its value, which is physically reduced for many people. Bitcoin also presents difficulties in some things, such as its password and other things that are used in its transaction, but many people have become inclined towards Bitcoin because it is easily bought and gives quite large profits. And this is, in my opinion, the first such digital asset that people believed in and its progress is clear to those who did not. Gold sometimes has double digits, due to which it can also be called another name for physical fraud.
