More Bitcoin Holders than Gold in America
If you want additional excitement, you should look for information on how many people own Bitcoin in India Or Nigeria? You are making a point here, after I finished reading the op, the next thing I looked out for is the source to the data/statistics OP had presented so I could read further but nothing. We really can not ascertain how OP came about this research and findings because we do not know the methods used in gathering this data before it was presented as a research result. However, I could argue less with the findings because this generation is more into digital than analogue and moreover Bitcoin is a digital assets which means they could control and monitor their digital assets themselves wherever and whenever they want. The sole custody is the most triggering aspects of it because it gives the holders opportunity to be in charge of their transactions and also. To move about with it from one place to another which is the most comfortable and reliable. So therefore, I believe the reasons why the sudden fast adoption is the fact that technology is advancing and Bitcoin is the digital economy still brewing to take over the global financial markets and economy so no one wants to be left behind or be taken unawares hence the possible rapid adoption rate of Bitcoin in the world .

American’s knows the real power of bitcoin that’s why they are investing in bitcoin rather than gold, The reason behind this is gold is more stable than bitcoin and the profit margin in bitcoin is higher as when bitcoin start pumping it makes new records in terms of price hike while gold has low profit ratio.

More Bitcoin Holders than Gold in America
I always feel the excitement whenever I see that there is more increase in Bitcoin adoption all over the world and people are showing more desperation to go for bitcoin the any other assets because of the various opportunities found under this decentralized digital network. Everything about Bitcoin begins in 2009 and here we are today with massive adoption as the entire world are getting to discover more about bitcoin and gold cannot even stand the gap of the adoption rate people, institutions and corporate bodies are giving Bitcoin, I come across this information which gives the statistics that in America today, it was discover the rate at which their young adults are more in support of Bitcoin as investment asset to own over gold, I'm also confident that this will not only be limited to America alone but in many countries as well, where bitcoin is seen as a legal currency. So tell me how it makes sense that people who store their Bitcoin in non-custodial wallets are also on this list? Like how can they also figure out that they are from the U.S? Bitcoin addresses don't use IP address right? That graph isn't accurate, that's my believe, even if Binance has it's own US based exchange, something called Binance US, not all US citizens are using Binance US to get their Bitcoin. Everything is so wrong about this, it's either it's fake or it's an incomplete information, if we are talking about the US alone I believe that people who have gold necklaces or wrist watches will pass those who are holding Bitcoin. Every week weddings are been done in the states, people who have gold rings can easily surpass those who have Bitcoin.

However, I still don't take such statistics seriously. Their research tactics are usually flawed and very biased which makes their results unreliable. For example over the past years since gold has been soaring hard (from $1600 to $5000), the interest to invest in it has skyrocketed; that's a fact that contradicts the findings shown in this chart.
It turns out that the statistics in the OP were based on a survey conducted with a very small sample of people in the US. I had to find the original source, which is cited at the bottom left corner of the image that contains the statistics. The survey was carried out by a non-profit organization called The Nakamoto project. The most surprising part is that this survey was conducted using just 3,538 people, and it was done in two different groups. It was done in such a way that the 3,538 people represented the entire US adult population based on different factors like Age, Gender, income, etc. I personally don't think a sample of 3,538 is enough to represent an entire population, especially in a case like this.

Also, that is the exact phrase which shows Bitcoin is worth more than gold as it is directly currency which will eventually become legal tender in the US second, I am guessing and once people realize that worldwide adoption by governments is happening, there will be a buying of coin we have never seen before.
Bitcoin will never become "legal tender" in the USA and that doesn't even make any sense. Bitcoin is perfectly legal in the USA which is all that is necessary for people to voluntarily do whatever they want with it. "Legal Tender" would just force people to accept Bitcoin even if they did not want to, which is both totally unnecessary and antithetical to Bitcoin's "libertarian" roots. Also, Bitcoin will never be a mainstream means of payment since it is far too slow and expensive to transact. Imagine waiting 20 minutes for your cup of coffee in the morning--and paying $17.50 for the transaction and $4 for the actual coffee. It's absurd. That's not how people use Bitcoin today and that will never change. Finally, I agree with others here who have pointed out these BS stats: we have no way of knowing how many actual holders of BTC there are in the US, but counting individual wallets means nothing. Meanwhile: Virtually every single individual in the USA (320M+) owns gold since it's embedded in most electronics.

I don't know where they got that conclusion from because if we look at how long gold has been in America, that number doesn't really support that conclusion. since gold has been held in the United States for decades and Bitcoin is a relatively new asset compared to gold, so drawing conclusions based on such a short track record doesn't seem very convincing for me. I guess that The Nakamoto Project, which conducted this survey, is just creating a narrative that supports their own perspective, even though the reality might not be like that.

I also agree with everyone here.. there are no accurate and there will never be accurate stats to measure it. The image is likely just focusing and on some aspect combined but still feels more like a guessed stat nmw. Yes we may have large support for Bitcoin in US but I don’t think it has surpass Gold already. Don’t like whatever comparison people keep bringing up either Also, Bitcoin will never be a mainstream means of payment since it is far too slow and expensive to transact. But we have lightning which is already been used by people and businesses already, and it is just as fast as lightning.
Lightning adoption is almost nothing compared to Bitcoin itself and other solutions. And Lightning is only fast sometimes when there's already an existing pathway, which makes it useless for the real world since "maybe fast, maybe slow" is a terrible customer experience. You are almost always better off using plain Bitcoin, and always better off using a currency actually made to deal with everyday payments. Bitcoin is for investment/speculation, not payments.Bitcoin is still used in some places for payments, but that's rapidly diminishing because of competition from other products like stablecoins.

Because of the profit margin, which is what will increase their interest in investing in Bitcoin, people will always do what will benefit them. Since it takes longer to make money from gold, people will go to places where there is a higher profit and follow up on prices because they already know what is best for them. For this reason, regardless of the circumstances, people will undoubtedly choose Bitcoin because anyone considering it has already given it some thought. And that is why the numbers keep increasing because Bitcoin will give you the bag if you understand it.

Weird graphics. How do they define "ownership"? Is having a few sats on a CEX account "ownership"? Is having jewellery "ownership"? Or gold "IOUs" from banks? Or tokenised gold like XAUt? Firstly, I would start by saying it does feel so weird for such to happen…because let's picture it as this 50M Bitcoin holders vs 37M Gold holders me having to look around me and everyone's grandma or grandpa wears a gold watch and owns a gold shining jewelry on their hands…and at the coffee shop nobody even makes a word about Bitcoin and this does not sound like Gold is still the highest level of investment well am just saying for a fact…and to be honest I feel the same off as the data has proof rights… Well how do they count Bitcoin Holders? does this mean they are to also keep count of anyone who ever bought Bitcoin from the apps like…CaspApp, Coinbase, ETF…that means even if it's 20$ worth of Bitcoin? It would still count…

This generational change has been clear for some time. Young adults have been raised with digital assets as the norm. What is interesting is that big companies are going in same direction. Now, BlackRock Bitcoin ETF is beating their gold ETF in money coming in.If both regular investor and big company money moves in the same direction, it is not a trend, it is a permanent move. While gold will not go anywhere, the "safe place" story is certainly being told these days, and not by one investment alone.

In terms of age, it may be true that young people are more likely to choose to invest in Bitcoin compared to gold, but if we talk about older people, it seems like gold is still their choice. Statistics only show the percentage rate at which young people prefer bitcoin and perhaps not only in America because in most countries this is generally the case. Bitcoin is the most sought after asset currently because apart from investing in bitcoin having a special impact on financial freedom, bitcoin is also an asset that is able to maintain value. The same is true with gold because even though this asset is stable and the increase is not as high as bitcoin in four years, most people see this asset as a store of value. Bitcoin is just the opposite and quite speculative, but those who understand the correct investment patterns will tend to choose bitcoin because this asset can provide big profits if invested correctly, that's why bitcoin adoption is increasingly widespread.

I recently saw a news report that there are more Bitcoin holders in America than gold holders and this number will increase in the future. Literally, this is an achievement and a sign of a future potential. A statistic shows that the number of Bitcoin holders in the United States has exceeded 49.6M and 28.8M own gold. https://pluang.com/en/news-feed/kepemilikan-bitcoin-lebih-besar-dari-emas-di-as3 states in America have passed bills to accept Bitcoin as a strategic reserve and the number of states will increase in the future. Most Americans may have realized that Bitcoin will increase much more in the future than it does now. From their realization, Bitcoin ownership is increasing compared to gold. I think the number of Bitcoin holders is increasing compared to gold holders all over the world.

Also this country has the most Bitcoin in terms of Bitcoin holdings you see America now has about 329,693 Bitcoins. 3 states in America have passed bills to accept Bitcoin as a strategic reserve and the number of states will increase in the future. Most Americans may have realized that Bitcoin will increase much more in the future than it does now. From their realization, Bitcoin ownership is increasing compared to gold. I think the number of Bitcoin holders is increasing compared to gold holders all over the world. It's correct three states in America have successfully passed laws to establish strategic Bitcoin reserves and to my knowledge those states are New Hampshire, Texas, and Arizona, which proves that investors in this country are currently prioritizing Bitcoin over gold, and we think this trend will continue because 16 states in the United States have already raised the issue of legalizing Bitcoin and it seems that investors are aware of the real potential of Bitcoin and are investing heavily in it. This is misleading honestly, the fee isn't that high. At the time when ordinal was spamming the network maybe yes, but right now? average fee is 0.0000044 BTC ($0.279) 2.6 sats/vB from https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-transactionfees.html. Sending stablecoin on Ethereum and Tron costs about ~$0.5 by the way at normal network condition, increase significantly on high congestion.

There is generational gap and it is only natural to think about it. Older investors were raised on idea that gold is a safe investment, and has outlasted wars and crashes, and likely their parents owned some. Younger people never had that relationship with gold. They were raised on smartphones, digital payments, internet native everything. Bitcoin simply matches with their view of world. 25 year old in 2026 has seen Bitcoin from joke to $126k ATH in their lifetime and that is pretty solid history to build trust on. But “risky” tag for Bitcoin is becoming increasingly difficult to explain. It is not like it is just risky at $600B+ market cap and the state money funds and governments have it. Unstable, yes, but in the early sense, no more.

Sending stablecoin on Ethereum and Tron costs about ~$0.5 by the way at normal network condition, increase significantly on high congestion. But that's the problem: Bitcoin can cost way more, and if you are seriously trying to run any sort of business, you need to account for the worst case scenario. But even if you forget about transaction fees, the time Bitcoin takes is a non-starter. The overall math is simple: Bitcoin processes 500k transactions per day using about $40 billion in hardware in order to do it. In order to handle all of the world's transactions (yes, I've done the math) you would need to handle approximately 1M transactions per second. That means Bitcoin would need to handle about 345K times more volume that it handles now (86,400 seconds in a day...), ergo it would need $13,824,000,000,000,000 (about $13 quadrillion dollars) in hardware to pull that off. By the way, did I mention that ALMOST EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE USA HOLDS AT LEAST SOME GOLDThe entire premise of this thread is laughable....

Do you know that stocks are still the biggest investment vehicle for American? Gold has never been their top choice. Gold is considered a safe haven asset because it tends to hold its value better during times of uncertainty and crisis, not because it yields high return. As long as Bitcoin remains highly volatile and gets heavily sold off whenever uncertainty hits, it will be very difficult for it to become a safe haven, let alone replace gold. Just because demand and capital flows are gradually shifting from gold to Bitcoin doesn't mean the definition of a safe haven is being rewritten. The role of safe haven asset needs to be proven over time, not simply based on one trend in capital flow.

18 - 29: 18% 30- 49: 22% 50 - 64: 27% 65+: 31%
Another way of seeing why Bitcoin will gain value. The complement to receptive to traditional investment vehicles, is receptive to modern investments vehicles, like Bitcoin: So it would look more like- potentially receptive to newer investment vehicles:18 - 29: 82% 30- 49: 78% 50 - 64: 73% 65+: 69% It is actually another way to interpret the same data, from another side of view, and it means something but it's only a very rough calculation while even the percents of gold owners in that page are already uncertain about accuracy. Old wealth will be handed over unto the younger generation, which is amazingly receptive to Bitcoin. The majority of those who are receptive to Bitcoin are definitely going to put that money into Bitcoin. By my reckoning, that is the main factor that will bring Bitcoin to $1 Million by 2030.
Wealth changed from generation to generation is very classic pattern in society, in all nations, and it's undeniable that the wealth transfers from the old generation to the young generations. The point to emphasize is the young generations get wealth from the old generation not only by inheritance but mainly by adapting to new technologies, new trends in societies and market as well as completely new market such as blockchain industry and cryptocurrency market.

The population sample is definitely low and flawed for a total population of over 300+ million people making up the country. Even for a yearly net migration the total number of migrants that troops into the US annually is on assumption greater than the sample size of the research survey used in trying to determine such fact in the OP is vulnerable to high error sample and thus could be statistically flawed, just as some users has flagged it.
