The act of telling children to leave the space of adults during adult talk is still taking place until this day so it is not something that has been phased off completely. But there's a reduction in the rate due to reasons best known to parents and also the influence of technology and mortality issues. Most parents no longer believe that kids are still kids as they believe that for the fact that the kid is also having access to the internet, he might know more that what they want to discuss and this will make them careless about who's present and who is not.

When we were kids, some of us feel so bad whenever that instruction is given because it makes you curious about what they want to talk about.
When I was growing up, immediately we have visitors I mean adult visitors who came to see my parents we will leave the space they are after greeting them, this is how it has been for me when I was a child and to be honest that’s same thing I will do to my children, when I have visitors they should learn to excuse us so we can discuss, no matter the topic children should not be were adults are discussing.
Children learn things very fast so I won’t like my children to learn adult way of life quick, they are children they should enjoy their childhood without having to think about adulthood.
I will teach them everything they need to no, if you want to educate children very well about life you need to take it one step at a time.
This is true. We got used to this leaving before they ask you to leave as a method to avoid that feeling that comes with being asked to leave the house. Some of us also got used to sign language and we act immediately. If you delay before leaving or you act like you don't want to leave, you will not like the outcome when the visitors leave. So it's better to train kids to act and get used to it because adults discussion can contain some sensitive topics that may be a security threat when leaked or morality breach for kids.

There's what we call "gentle parenting" these days and I feel it will be a lot harder to ask your child to leave a space when you're trying to have a conversation because to you it's nothing to worry about if they are there or not.
I remember growing up, we were taught to understand what a single look from mum meant and if ever we went against it, we'd be in soup when we got home. These days, some children rarely value or understand "the look", some even laugh it off when they see it or will ask "what?, why you looking at me?".  The thing with gentle parenting is that some values get dropped on the way just because the parent doesn't want to appear as the bad guy if they enforce some rules.
Honestly I think I really missed the good old days of the disciplinary system back then, Omo you just remember me when my mum could just use her eyebrow to disappear from the living room whenever we were having visitors around…

There is really alot of different between how things were back then and now, in the time of my childhood you never lacked what we called “Respect” and “Fear” like the looks already were like a strong law  never to get any explanation we understood the code of every movement back then of our parents, what was the main goal was to get in with all of the thing was Obeadienece,

For me, it has both good and bad side. Back in those days, many parents usually as their children to excuse them when adults are discussing serious matter. It really helps because there are things children ain’t supposed to listen to, especially something that has to do with money, quarrels or adult discussion. But nowadays things have really changed. Children of nowadays ask more questions and many parents always try to make them understand what is happening around the vicinity.

The problem isn’t even if they are listening to what adults are saying but it’s when they no longer know there boundaries and they begin to interrupt when adults are discussing. Bringing back the culture of politely telling children to excuse adults while discussing is bad. Most times it teaches respect and discipline. It will make them understand that every discussion has it own age and time. Adult also need to explain to children when necessary instead of hiding things from them.

This conclusion that things has changed and asking children to leave while having a serious discussion is bad, to me is a wrong perspective or believe that need not to be in practice and deserves to be changed know matter what. There is limitations on what everyone can accommodate at a specific age range so exposing them to what there brains can't accommodate is a very wrong practice.
People of this generation takes many things for granted without knowing it will in turn become a problem for them at last.

We have actually lost something when stopped having clear  boundaries between adults conversations and giving children space, not because they shouldn’t ask questions but because not every discussion is meant for their age and level of understanding.

I don’t think just by simply telling the children to leave the room is enough anymore because many of those conversations now happen online where there is no room to leave. A child with a phone can come across topics that are far more mature than anything they would have heard from adult sitting in the room.

I think the old rules still holds its value but it has to be combined with better parenting as well. While some conventions should remain between adults, parent should also be able to explain difficult topics to their children when they are matured enough instead of letting the social media do the teaching.
I do not think that asking children to leave the room is right approach. Some discussion are not appropriate for children. If we constantly exclude them from these conversation and ask them to leave room when we start discussing those topic that can cause a sense of curiosity in them. Later on, they can ask their friends or internet for answer rather than asking their parents.

It is responsibility of the parents more to adjust the conversation according to the person who is present. If there is a sensitive topic to be discussed, they should postpone it and discuss it later in front of their kids, it can build trust between parents and children and encourage them to communicate openly with their parents.

On point mate, back then no one will tell you what to do because with just an eyebrow, one will know what to do and back in those old times, the discipline then really make one to live and posses a good lifestyle, as one is respectful and obedient compare to this present time where the young ones will be living a kind of lifestyle that they think they are of same age with the elderly one’s, always wanting the old one’s to tell them what to do at all times before knowing what to do and that’s bad, as it makes parenting difficult for people.

Some of us could relate to this just seeing our parent's looking at us seriously would mean that we would be in trouble specially when we are outside, that look means to just wait till we get home and you would surely be in trouble, and we would instantly get those message.
I think it is because of our respect to them, and how they spend time to us growing up we could see it clearly when they are just having fun with us or they are dead serious about the topic.
Most of the kids today spend more time in their gadget rather than their parents.

Back then in those days, i think the ways in which parents train their children is more better than this days. Like in our own family i don't really need to be told to excuse my parents or any of my senior ones, there are some issues that occur which does not required for us to hear so we'll leave the place for them to discuss. Most especially maybe something like death occurred the we as a kids my parents will take us to another house till they're done with the burial, but this days we hardly see parents excusing their kids.

We still have parents training their kids in the right manner. Well, we have more Gen Z parents these days, but I believe we have good parents. I am going to be one of them.

Never a time when bad parenting doesn't exist. Back in the day, there were bad parents. Parents who will teach their child to steal from neighbours, lie, and do all sorts of things. This time around, parenting has turned into social media. This is where I get angry with modern-day parents.

Just yesterday, I saw a little child twerking on social media with the parent. A pedophile will see that video and long to abuse that child. When it's done, they will forget to blame it on the parent who is teaching their child of 8 to 10 years, is pulling seductio on live TV.

It's clear how your childhood ( I mean everyone here) is definitely very different from that of the children of today no matter your country of origin or globality (correct me if I am wrong). Not in any way calling anything bad but as a child I guess you where usually asked to leave the room when adults are definitely going to be having adult talks of whatsoever intensity?
Nowadays, the level at which children middle into adults talk is something else.

what if we or you bring back telling kids to leave the room or space when adults are going to be having or are already having adult talks?

This generation kids are definitely trained and grown in such a way that they have some level of freedom to interact engage with adults, e.g one of the things I noticed between kids of this days and during our own time is that, kids now have more freedom than adults, what I mean is, no one restrict kids like asking them to leave the room for adults to discuss sensitive things, rather adults will have to be private about it and not to even discuss it in the front of their kids, now kids have the boldness to ask an adult anything or even interrupt adults, but what I believe is that. All this is part of modernization and changes that we can not avoid or escape.

Kids are kids, and adults are adults. The boundaries, knowledge, experience, wisdom and everything is different, and it should be replicated likewise. In a growing world where modernities are the other of the day, I still feel that everything has time. Your children could be where you are discussing with your fellow adult, but of course, it depends on the kind of conversation or discussion, yea.

They could stay in mare talks, social discussions, games, christian talks, etc that sure will have no negative thoughts and insight or may be too mature for them to hear. But in the opposite, they should be sent out, yea. There are things they don't get to hear at there age, and when such talks are brought to the table, and they are there, they should be sent out to play with there mates or probably with there playing tools.

However, a child could learn too while adults are discussing, but this is hinged on the subject of discussion. A child could also learn bad from some adult discussion too if given the privilege to partake either intentionally or not. Thus, sending the child out when discussing or allowing them to me simply depends on the topic of discussion
Agree, main concern is not about whether children are present there or not. But main thing is what is being discussed and whether kids are mature enough to understand that topic positively or not. It is true that children mostly learn from listening to others.
But there are certain type of conversation that involve serious matters, including serious family tension, financial problem,  sexual matter or other sensitive subjects that are very inappropriate for children. In that situation, asking them to leave is not necessary, but hiding truth from them is about protecting them from information that they may not yet have the maturity to process. They will learn about it when they will grow older.

It's not just about an issue of leaving the room just because you're having an adult discussion, it's about knowing that there are certain conversations you can't be a part of untill you've attained a certain age or have gotten a certain level of exposure.
Children will not just understand on their own that they are some certain conversations they are not meant to be involve him, that why as parents you are to always tell them to excuse you when having adult talks. Infact it is better to tell them that whenever you are having a discussion with another adult, they should quickly leave the room and not wait until you tell them to leave. That way they will be able to understand that they are not supposed to be involved in adult talks.

Any one doing it is exposing his children to situations that may destroy them, there are some things we take common as adults but to children it will be very disastrous to them because there ways of interpreting situations is far different from that of adults. Apart from such exposure,  parents deserves privacy at some point and must be given to them to brainstorm and discuss to find solutions to some situations,  so allowing children to get involved in situations above there understanding will be more harmful to them that is if they can't interpret it wisely.
