Good day everyone,
Most of us are already aware of the recent enforcement of signature bans, with nutildah handling reviews and issuing bans to users whose posting habits fall into the category of low quality contributions on the forum..It is worth mentioning that the signature ban itself is not a newly introduced feature. It has existed on the forum long enough, but it simply wasn't being enforced as actively as it is now. I understand that many users, both on our local board and across the forum, may be worried about who might receive the next signature ban. However, I don't think this is something anyone should worry over.
We've repeatedly discussed on the local board the importance of making quality posts, regardless of the requirements of your signature campaign. Being accepted into a signature campaign should never stop you from contributing meaningful content to discussions. Unfortunately, some users both old and new, have developed the habit of making low effort or generic posts simply to meet their weekly post quota. The renewed enforcement of signature bans serves as a reminder that signature campaigns are not the primary reason Bitcointalk exists. The forum was built for discussion, learning and sharing knowledge partaining to bitcoin. If this enforcement helps improve posting quality over time, then I believe it will benefit the forum as a whole.
Within the first few days of the enforcement, several users had their accounts reviewed by nutildah and were issued temporary signature bans, together with the date when the ban would be lifted. However, many members still questioned the criteria being used, with some believing the process was biased or not applied consistently.
To clear up some of those concerns, nutildah has now introduced the official
Bitcointalk Post Health Score Lookup.According to him, "the tool is meant to help users understand the quality of their posting history and, for those who have received a signature ban, give them a better idea of why they may have been selected". While the exact scoring criteria have not been made public and remain known only to a few(forum staff and moderators), the tool offers some useful insight into your overall posting quality.
Is the site only for signature banned users? No.
According to nutildah, "every Bitcointalk user can check their score." I think this is a great addition because users can periodically review their posting health and make improvements before they end up receiving a signature ban.
Link to Site: https://postflayer.onrender.com/How to use the siteIt's quite simple.
- Visit the website and allow it to load.
- Enter a user's ID.
- Click Look Up.
- The tool will display a score together with information related to the quality of that user's posting history.
The site is still undergoing development, so if you come across any bugs or unexpected behaviour, do well to report them.
Available score categoriesI checked the scores of several random users, including some who had already received signature bans, just to get an idea of the available categories. These are the ones I found.
- The Elite – Top 10% of active posters.

- The Good – Top 25% of active posters.

- The Average – Middle 50% of active posters.

- The below Average- 10-25% of active posters.

- Needs Improvement – Lowest 10% of active posters.

How can you improve your score? As mentioned earlier, the exact scoring criteria have not been disclosed, so only a few, knows precisely how the score is calculated on the site.
However, from what I've personally observed, one common factor among many users who received signature bans is repeatedly making generic or low effort replies, posting in boards that don't add much value to the discussion, or replying to threads that have little meaningful discussion left simply to meet a posting quota.
Instead of focusing on the number of posts, focus on making each post worth reading. Participate in discussions where you actually have something useful to contribute, avoid repetitive comments, and put a little more thought into your replies. If you consistently do that, you'll not only improve your posting quality but also reduce the chances of finding yourself on the receiving end of a signature ban.
As more information becomes available regarding the signature ban system, I'll update this thread accordingly. Any contributions or additions as to the signature ban can come in below..
