I wonder how you came up with this, but you should understand that what is happening here is just tied to relativity rather than any form of dependence. I'd argue that every institution (including financial institutions) are connected to each other to some certain extent, so it is ofcourse natural if Bitcoin price reacts to such events including central bank decisions, policies, etc.
This doesn't necessarily mean that its core value propositions have changed in anyway. Does bitcoin protocols change because federal reserve adjust interest rate? No. You should know that Bitcoin is now a global asset, that is, it is held by companies and institutions around the globe, so current government and financial policy will always influence how these firms manage and control their finance and asset including bitcoin, this means if the policies are favourable and profitable for these firms, they will likely invest more in assets including bitcoin and if the policies are not favourable they liquidate some asset (which may include bitcoin). As you know when demand is high, price goes up and vice versa, this in turn affects Bitcoin price because companies are buying (accumulating) and selling (liquidating) depending on the financial status of the company at the given period and this will never change.

If you think Bitcoin is going to be a short term trend then I highly doubt you are in the right group, Bitcoin has so far survived so much and in all that has transcended all people's opinions and expectations about it. I think the economy is fast becoming dependent on Bitcoin. Kazakhstan, El Salvador amongst other countries has used Bitcoin as a lifeline to blossom their economy and it has been really impactful, Donald Trump's reign has been highly connected to Bitcoin and that has giving birth to so many new things one which is the clarity act that is in the pipeline. I think the future of Bitcoin is secured and it is not in going to be dependent on any economy but rather Bitcoin will be the tool in which nation can use to rekindle their burnt out economy.

Is Bitcoin Really Becoming a Macro Asset?
Let me talk from the subject. That should be a rhetorical question because no country in this world that is not using bitcoin even the countries banned bitcoin, yet individuals are using it. Itis already a macro asset and it has removed Macroeconomic deficiencies of poverty from several people in the world. Banks workers are using it and they are also into trading and buying and selling of bitcoin and Bank managers are investing in bitcoin. The only thing that is left for the various governments to announce it as a legal tender in their countries. And once that is done, we will see bitcoin accepting shops, stores and firms in the public places.

Surprisingly, Bitcoin was first introduced as an option to traditional financial system, but today, many market players are interested in following interest rates, cash flow conditions and even company profits to figure out what Bitcoin will do next. Bitcoin was seen far more better than what it was expected of it, after it was introduced, it's made a tremendous success beyond imagination and that is why it is at this stage in which was never expected to have accomplished right from onset, this shows that bitcoin is really meeting up with demands and every necessary intentions to why it was created and even beyond, there's nothing in financial economy that you have our freedom and control over what belongs to us. Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise?
I think you are making a mistake here because bitcoin is not economically dependent, instead you can say it is independent of the current economic situation, this is why the incidence of inflation does not affect the market price, every economical influence we see are only a short-term effect, bitcoin majorly work by its network demand and supply and this is why both buying and selling determines the value in due season.

There are several big central bank decisions this week, as well as profit reports from companies that are deeply connected to crypto industry. Many traders expect increased price swings around these events.
Central bank interest rate decision, liquidity outlook, Coinbase or Strategy's earning, these all influence institutional traders decision. So it's natural for price swing to occur. This is not a change in Bitcoin. It is change in market participants. Bitcoin continues to follow fixed supply and predictable monetary policy. Surprisingly, Bitcoin was first introduced as an option to traditional financial system, but today, many market players are interested in following interest rates, cash flow conditions and even company profits to figure out what Bitcoin will do next.
ETF issuer, hedge fund, public company and institutional investors will naturally analyze interest rate, liquidity, earning macro data,, etc. Because their entire investment framework is built that way. So it does not mean that fundamental characteristic of Bitcoin has changed. Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise?
I would say that it is not right to look at short term price and long term value proposition as one. In the short term, there can certainly be correlation with macro liquidity or institutional fund flow. But not in long term.

Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise?
Still remember how the Bitcoin industry grew so fast. The crypto industry today is influenced by several big instruments like ETFs, hedge funds, and large companies often manage portfolios based on global economic conditions. So directly, this situation affects Bitcoin's direction, which tends to mirror the global economy. Maybe if we compare it to gold, it could be somewhat similar in the future. Gold prices are influenced by global economic conditions, but gold has still been kept as a store of value because of its scarcity. In the short term, prices are very affected by the global economic situation, but in the long run, supply and demand still seem to be the main factors in determining Bitcoin's price. IMO CMIIW

Various decisions in world politics and some changes in the economy create short-term volatility in the price of Bitcoin. Its impact on Bitcoin is not noticeable in the long term. Some changes in the world economy may have an impact on the price of Bitcoin for a few weeks or months, but it does not last long. Because the basic rules and characteristics of Bitcoin do not follow the decisions of any central bank or government of any country. Even if the United States increases interest rates, Bitcoin will remain at 21 million. Similarly, even if a few powerful countries start a war, Bitcoin will continue to exist. However, there is no way to deny the changes that occur in the short term as a result of all these events. Because if the interest rate is high, people will invest their money in volatile assets like Bitcoin instead of investing it in assets that will generate a lot of profit in a relatively short time. Now, if we discuss global political issues or the normal situation of a country, then if there is a war, trade conflict or political uncertainty, many investors will be more interested in cash as their first reaction, but if this situation continues for a long time, the price of the fiat currency of those countries will decrease, and acceptance will decrease, then they will start using Bitcoin again. So if any problem arises, initially it has a negative impact on Bitcoin, but over time, Bitcoin's position to improve.

I really disagree with you. Changes in politics and economy can affect Bitcoin price in short term but not only this, it has very long term impacts on Bitcoin price too. Because things like politics and economy in a nation are powerful to shape not only the present but also the future of that country. The Declining Purchasing Power of the U.S. Dollar. This is long term and the effects on Bitcoin is long term too.

Companies would rather invest in bonds than bitcoin at a high interest rate, with the Fed clamoring over an increase on interest rate more investors will have zero appetite on risky investments like cryptocurrency, and a high appetite on a steady form of investment. It costs more to spend high borrowing money and put it into a volatile asset.

Not gonna lie, in short term, risk asset like Bitcoin will come under pressure. However, companies who adopting Bitcoin treasury strategy are not only buying BTC for yield. They are also considering fiat debasement as well as long term purchasing power and balance sheet diversification. So I don't think everyone will sell Bitcoin and go into bonds if Fed rate is high. Another thing is that interest rate cycle is not permanent. Today you may see the rate higher, but tomorrow it may be lower. Company that are accumulating Bitcoin with 5-10 year vision, will they decide only based on their FOMC meeting? nah,,

Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise?
What we're seeing Bitcoin is becoming an economy dependent asset but for the impact, it's mostly for the short-term. Bitcoin as we all know is independent asset but the truth is as adoption grows and the presence of institutions and ETFs increases, it's expected that global economic happenings will have impacts on the price and that I don't think is bad. Whenever there is a major global economic news, short-term volatility will likely increase but that doesn't mean that the long-term value of Bitcoin is tied to these factors. These developments can only affect the short-term price movement but because Bitcoin scarcity and decentralization can't be altered the long-term value will remain and that's why people will continue to hold. .

There are several big central bank decisions this week, as well as profit reports from companies that are deeply connected to crypto industry. Many traders expect increased price swings around these events. https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2026/07/27/interest-rates-in-u-s-u-k-japan-and-coinbase-strategy-earnings-crypto-week-aheadSurprisingly, Bitcoin was first introduced as an option to traditional financial system, but today, many market players are interested in following interest rates, cash flow conditions and even company profits to figure out what Bitcoin will do next. Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise? Since these big companies are accumulating bitcoin, it is normal for people to watch out for updates from these companies because of the kind of influence institutional investors have on bitcoin's price. Bitcoin still remains an alternative means of payment to fiat; that fact has not changed. Also, whatever influence these institutional investors have on Bitcoin does not automatically reduce Bitcoin to a short-term asset. Bitcoin is global, institutions are adopting it, and more are still coming. All of these will continue for a very long time. Bitcoin's long-term position has not changed. Bitcoin is still volatile, so for any investor to stay profitable, they should look at the long-term picture rather than short-term market surprises. Read more about Bitcoin, OP.

With my long years existence in this forum, I have always known bitcoin as an independent asset, but dependent on global liquidity and even institutional ties for its daily price. This makes it more behaved as a macro asset and heavily rely its price on the different global events and even circumstances.
However, the effect tends to stay for short-term only, eventually the price recovers and stabilized, and stick to its own pattern. This is also a kinda reflection of how volatility works in the market. The price varies based on how bitcoin is heavily affected with different market events and sentiments.

Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise?
I don't think that there is one size fits all answer to this question. I do agree that Bitcoin price might be tied to monetary policy specially coming from the US. Or even has correlation to stock markets as other might have suggested. But with the more traditional asset and like we compare it to Gold, Bitcoin has only small correlation to it. So for me, Bitcoin has it's own path base on what the narrative could be like becoming a safe haven, store of value or like what we are seeing right now, institutional investors entering the picture. So there is no right or wrong answer to it whether Bitcoin has become a Macro Asset or not.

For me, to answer OP. Yes, Bitcoin is becoming more of a macro asset because of global markets, especially interest rates or inflation.
Even many people or even institutions treating Bitcoin as risky investment, well, there's no easy money at all, even stocks market is risky too.

I think Bitcoin's financial security, globalization system, and method of staying safe from inflation are more important than the price rise in Bitcoin!
For the system and security you do not need to worry, and the increase in the price of bitcoin is one of the sign factors of money entering, the higher the price the more it reflects inflation that occurs, we can measure over time that when dollars/fiat in print money will enter the market and push the price of Bitcoin, that's why the increase in the price of bitcoin is also important because as a tool for anti-inflation especially for those who invest in it. This goes back to the market formula, the more demand the higher the price, in this case it indicates that people hold enough money earned from the economic stimulus carried out by the state, in short like that.

The nature of bitcoin allow anyone to speculate and to join it.What are doing banks and corporations is just a natural consequence. This should be not the focus of their users but just a secondary effect. It's not for a central bank decision that my coins should or should not have a value. Once my "work", the value of other items in FIAT has been already devalued by some politicians or some technology I would not focus "about the value in FIAT", but maybe in other aspects that offer bitcoin. likewise... the easiest way to access and to use, safe payments networks, cheapest ever way for transfer "value".
