It's not becoming; Bitcoin has become one already. That seems unfortunate.

As much as many don't like it, it seems there's no getting away with it. This has become Bitcoin's fate ever since its price attracted supporters more than its technology.

The traditional players in the world of finance are here. They don't share Bitcoin's philosophy. They only believe in the potential of its price, and its ability to improve their revenue.

And now we're slowly getting used to weighing Bitcoin's outlook based on the interest rates decisions of central banks, GDPs, fiat monetary policies, fiscal regulations, and the like.

It doesn't help that even crypto media are constantly publishing articles that focused heavily on price trends vis-à-vis the traditional market. They're pushing the narrative further.

Bitcoin has grown to be a very significant symbol. I recall how it began, how the number of investors keeps growing, and now that it has become a part of the country's economic growth because many countries have benefited from the system and, aside from that, their countries have been investing in and profiting from it. At one point, the commercial was making every effort to sever ties with Bitcoin, but there may come a time when they will have no choice but to be a part of the system that they condemned.

The fact that Bitcoin is decentralized simply makes it even more amazing. Some people even see Bitcoin as a revival, and I believe they have a better chance of succeeding because it will be very promising and because people have experienced the power of purchasing and holding Bitcoin, they don't want to leave it. And with everything we have seen I will say definitely that Bitcoin is becoming a macro asset at this point.

Bitcoin is not controlled by any single country's economy or government, but it can still be influenced by global economic conditions. If you are a person who is associated with Bitcoin, you have to focus on blockchain, which is not dependent on any country. Satoshi gave an incredible gift to the best generation, and today millions of people have jobs, and they are doing business with the availability of Bitcoin because it is not control of any government. Otherwise they could be a high price gap if governments want to produce more Bitcoins, as different government devalue their currency. People should be thankful to Satoshi, which he serve to millions of people on Earth who are educated and have sense. Bitcoin has a broad future, and there is no short-term plan from the founder because that is top of the tier.

Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise?
This is not a sign of a change in the fundamental nature of Bitcoin, but rather a natural consequence of its widespread acceptance. Now that large institutions and public companies are in the market, news such as major company earnings reports will have an impact on the price in the short term but I don't think that the future of Bitcoin depends on central bank decisions.  To me the real power of Bitcoin is still in the same place. I see fluctuations in fiat prices or macro events, but I don't give them more importance than the main purpose of Bitcoin.

How is it becoming economy-dependent? Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency has always been decentralized which it still is, it's value was never being controlled by anyone, it was created with a limited supply, which was an indicator that it is going to have a volatile value as the demand increases and decreases, so will its value, and that is exactly what's happening right now, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, this doesn't make Bitcoin dependent.

And, I don't understand what long-term promises you are referring to, because Satoshi never made any promise to the world that Bitcoin will achieve this and that, he created for decentralized P2P transactions, and it still functions the same way if used, but if someone doesn't want to use it for that, and are more interested in the speculative nature of it and want to utilize its price swings then it's their choice and that's totally fine.

Bitcoin can serve as both, a speculative investment asset and a decentralized P2P payment system, now it's up to you to choose how you want to use it, and the same goes for everyone else.

I can see why you take that view, but it does not seem like Bitcoin growing connection with big economic events always means that its main use has been lost.

If you ask me, there is a difference between what moves price of Bitcoin, and what makes Bitcoin valuable to begin with. While interest rates, available cash and government policies may have an impact on demand in short term, they do not change fact that Bitcoin is still ruled by same rules that were in place before the big companies came along. Just because big financial players are trading the network does not mean that it is more controlled centrally.

What is interesting to me is that much of those traditional players have been playing Bitcoin for profit, but they have also been helping to add available cash, systems and public awareness. That might not be beliefs of early buyers, but it has helped Bitcoin get to the scale that it would have been hard to do otherwise.

So maybe question is not so much if Bitcoin is now macro asset, but if an asset can be affected by the traditional financial system without truly changing. I do not believe this debate is at all finished.

There are several big central bank decisions this week, as well as profit reports from companies that are deeply connected to crypto industry. Many traders expect increased price swings around these events.

https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2026/07/27/interest-rates-in-u-s-u-k-japan-and-coinbase-strategy-earnings-crypto-week-ahead

Surprisingly, Bitcoin was first introduced as an option to traditional financial system, but today, many market players are interested in following interest rates, cash flow conditions and even company profits to figure out what Bitcoin will do next.

Is Bitcoin becoming more and more economy dependent, or is it just a short term trend that won't impact its long term value promise?
There was a time when most people distrusted Bitcoin, but when its technical security, practical use and fixed supply forced people to change their ideas and beliefs. Then people all over the world and large investment institutions started adopting Bitcoin. Even now, Bitcoin is being kept as a reserve fund in different countries of the world. So it is understood that Bitcoin is not dependent on the conventional economy, but the fiat economy is gradually being compromised to accept Bitcoin.

Bitcoin did not become known all over the world to become a short-term trend after going through this long adversity, but rather to become a long-term new economic system and help revive the corrupt and polluted economy of the world through change.

So I don't think everyone will sell Bitcoin and go into bonds if Fed rate is high.

Another thing is that interest rate cycle is not permanent.
Today you may see the rate higher, but tomorrow it may be lower.
Company that are accumulating Bitcoin with 5-10 year vision, will they decide only based on their FOMC meeting? nah,,
Short term investors who go back and forth on safe and risky investments watch interest rates to mitigate losses, long term investors have no worries about the FED's decision on rates, the goal is beyond Feds, but the bullish turnaround of btc price in future. Aside investors in bitcoin on the short term, and how their periodic transitioning affect the price of bitcoin, the changes on Interest rate has no use for crypto.

Lets just call this a phase, mass adaptation phase to be specific and the institutions are leading the role including taking advantage of the coin so a change should be expect with such happening but it doesn't put them in control despite the influence they have toward the demand and supply factor
But you're very correct that the phenomenon that's control Bitcoin is still in place and it's going to be there for as long as possible cause Bitcoin can never be controlled by the government or any institution.

In my opinion, BTC has the potential to become a valuable asset. The evidence is that, from the past until now, BTC has proven to us all that it never disappoints long-term holders. Certainly, nothing has been able to bring BTC down, even during economic turmoil, such as wars and other events. However, because BTC cannot be controlled by governments or banks, it seems to have the potential to become a valuable asset for the future. This is evident in the fact that several well-known companies and countries have adopted BTC. This is certainly proof that BTC is a potentially valuable asset for the future.

In my opinion, BTC will currently be a macro asset. We don't know what will happen in the future, but I believe that more people will adopt BTC in the future, and ultimately, BTC's price will increase. It's possible that BTC no will fluctuate significantly, thus reducing its volatility.

That's my opinion, as I'm still a beginner, and I hope you understand if I'm wrong.

Yes, I don't know for sure about this either, but the economy will definitely directly affect Bitcoin. Because when the economy is in bad shape, it seems like most people who know about Bitcoin will shift their wealth to Bitcoin. Bitcoin has proven to be very resilient against inflation. So, with that in mind, I believe Bitcoin's price can indeed be affected by the economy.

It's undeniable that that's the current situation. But I don't know whether this will affect Bitcoin's price in the long term. But what is clear is that if people are afraid of their money being eroded by inflation, storing it in Bitcoin is actually very beneficial. So if those people think that way, they will certainly continue to hold their Bitcoin for the long term. So, that's my personal conclusion, but correct me if I'm wrong.

It seems those who suddenly chose to accumulate certainly knew that Bitcoin was far superior to anything else. Their escape was simply due to the weakening economy, which made them realize that the only way to achieve wealth was by shifting their activities to Bitcoin investments.

Because before this happened, they had already recognized that it was better to invest in Bitcoin which would strengthen their economy by saving and accumulating Bitcoin thus preserving and protecting their wealth, rather than investing elsewhere which would only further diminish their holdings.
This leaves many confused about what will affect the next few years. I don't think it will significantly impact Bitcoin's price, as long as someone isn't afraid of a long-term decline in Bitcoin's price, this will be extraordinary. Furthermore, having confidence will certainly benefit them by consistently holding Bitcoin during market price declines.

The more we see the growth of bitcoin in a more advanced direction, the more we can no longer make Community Financial, retail and whale factors as determinants of price direction. Its nature is more global and involves institutional finance, ETFs, public companies etc. It is therefore true that Bitcoin is becoming a macro asset and can no longer be avoided.
We have seen when central bank interest rates, GDP and CPI are released automatically affecting the price of bitcoin either quickly or slightly slowly, which indicates that the direction of movement now depends on the dynamics of the global economy.
