I am only asking traders that know about these accounts. If you do not know about it, you can read about them online. Since I have been using unified trading account exchanges, I prefer it to both single and multi asset modes.

I want to know the opinion of other traders. Which one did you prefer the most? You can also give the reason you like one over the other.

The reason I like unified trading account is the easy of trading and it supports more coins that you can have on the exchange, trading with them without no need of trading with stable coins if you want and no need of moving the moving from one account to another.

For me the only advantages with unify trading account can be in the area of conveniences since as a trader you have wider range of options as regards your assets and balance for example.

1: unified accounts allows traders to use the assets across assets balance like spot, future and leverage balance can be used in one place without going through the stress of transferring the asset across balance or converting it to stablecoins before opening trade in any market.

Since I'm the kind of crypto enthusiasts that simultaneously trade multiple assets, carrying out both future and spot trading, I have always find out that unified trading account is very much suitable for my kind of trader and that's why I chose unified account. Just as the name Imply, i can efficiently carry out my trading on same account and the pair I want to trade without having to move my capital to a different account depending on the pair or type of trade I want to do. I don't want to do a free ads for the exchange I'm using but it has been the exchange I like using and have been using for a long time since it supports unified account.

Speaking of convenience, I actually prefer a unified trading account as well. However, since I don’t just trade in crypto, I also trade stocks from time to time. I’ve adapted to my needs by using a multi-asset trading account. After all, I’m diversifying across several types of trades, not just crypto. Although, last year I did focus exclusively on crypto. But this year, after seeing some corrections in the stock market, I jumped right in to take advantage of the situation. So, in my opinion, our choice really depends on our needs in the market. Although I actually use two platforms, one integrated trading platform like Binance, and another multi-asset trading account on a local platform in my country, such as the Peluang app.

Here’s a table comparing the three types of trading accounts mentioned by the OP,

This thread can not be for forex or stocks, but it is for crypto trading. From all that I have used before, I do not like the single asset mode where you can only use stable coin like USDT and USDC to trade, but you can use the multiasset mode which is good. But if you are having many coins, that is where the frustration will begin by moving the coins one after the other to the future trading account, what that is not necessary on unified trading account. Unified trading account is the best among them.

We are on same page with UTA as the better option for trading. I don't bother about converting to stablecoins for one just because am scared of liquidation across my asset class because it's more secure to run a sub account to this effect, of which ensures I can be active to trade on the spot and also keep long term asset in cold storage in the other account.
This strategy for me ensures risk management across my asset class.

It seems the other option isn't included above but I think the future mode looks like a single mode. This is currently the mode I use on my phone since all trading execution is made on my phone and I only do analysis through my laptop.

I have 3 options in the OKX app: spot, futures, and multi-currency. I never tried the multi one; I don't know what the advantage is, but I can trade multiple cryptos with future mode isolated and cross-type margin.

I have tried the 3 on OKX but they are spot, future mode and multi-currecny.

Let me take the screenshot on OKX:

The multi-currecny mode is the universal trading account on OKX.

Exchanges that has universal trading account does not have multi coin because the universal trading account is supporting multiple currencies.

The reason I like unified trading account is the easy of trading and it supports more coins that you can have on the exchange, trading with them without no need of trading with stable coins if you want and no need of moving the moving from one account to another.
This is why people's preferences will always be different. I'm certainly indifferent about this and I get used to whatever comes myself. Though I don't trade much with exchanges.to warrant taking the difference seriously, yet I'd encountered it before, and navigated my way around what I wanted. So, no big deal.

When Bitget sent me a message yesterday that they were moving some "eligible" "Classic Account users to the Unified Trading Account (UTA)." I read it and just hissed and scrolled away because it is not the main thing that would deliver the money into my account. Adding eligibility to it is another reason for someone to get pissed, as if some customers deserved a service and others don't.

It is not about what will deliver money to your account, it is about 1. Being able to hold more coins that are not stable coins and be able to use them to open long or short positions.

The message was sent to their old customers and maybe all their news customers can be able to move to the unified trading account. They started it last year with some set of people which are not many but having higher amount of money, but now it is going to Bitget customers generally. 2. If you use it, you will know how better it is than the current Bitget accounts that you will have to move your coins from one account to another. Bitget did not have much assets on their multicoin mode, but UTA will support more coins.

I quite understand you, just as I understand myself, and in the end, it buttresses on individual's priority; that's not mine. Personally, I'm indifferent since I can adjust easily; however, I prefer to see those functions/features separated, so that a certain account or section in my account is for a purpose, which is not mixed with another purpose.

As me saying "it is not the main thing that would deliver the money into my account" is so valid because, in the end, they are only for structuring purpose, and not the main task that would ensure my profiting.

As me saying "it is not the main thing that would deliver the money into my account" is so valid because, in the end, they are only for structuring purpose, and not the main task that would ensure my profiting.

You have said it all. What matters is how efficient is the strategy used to trade. What I only like about the unified account is because you can switch to trade either spots, futures market etc under same balance pool. It is convenient because it has all the trading types in one account including margin trading and Derivatives, so you don't need to further open other account if you have a unified account but the trading strategy is same thing and to make profit depends on the strategy.

If there was a single trading account, everyone would have it, but some good, bad, fast, easy, all of these categories have a lot of accounts in front of us. So everyone is using an account according to it and equal to its ease. Although you like it, there must be very important reasons for this and you are fully prepared for it. Although whoever chooses it for what is easy, even if I do not use it, I am not working on a good account, which I will tell you in the coming time. This is very good because it will give information about many people about which accounts they use and the one that is easier and better will get access to others. We will get many trading accounts, but it is difficult to say which one is the best. This method has been found to be quite good in it and if they improve it a little, such as strengthening their reputation a lot and thinking about their promotion, it can be quite advanced.

I have tried the 3 on OKX but they are spot, future mode and multi-currecny.

Let me take the screenshot on OKX:

~img snip~

The multi-currecny mode is the universal trading account on OKX.

Exchanges that has universal trading account does not have multi coin because the universal trading account is supporting multiple currencies.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but it appears that the multi-option allows you to use other coins or tokens in USD value as margin. I'm not sure if it works the same as on the web because I've previously done cross-margin trades but didn't have the option to choose between spot, future, or multi-mode; it only works directly, or was this feature recently added? My last trade about cross trading was last year, so maybe this option was just recently added because they added many options these days, including stocks and forex.

It is good to know that if you do not want to use any asset on the he UTA account, you can uncheck it if you click on the coin. Example is bitcoin on this image:

You see that if I do not want to use it for derivative trading, I can uncheck it. But this may vary from one exchange to another. On the exchange that I took that screenshot, they still have funding and trading account separately in case you have some coins that you just do not want to use for spot and derivative trading. And also still do it in a way you can have both spot and derivatives account together and not use all your coins for derivatives but able to use all for spot trading. Although I do not know how Bitget will do it until it has been done and we see it.

Exchange like Binance do not have the UTA, but the portfolio margin (not classic trading) is still very good which is multiasset mode.

Yes the multicurrecny margin mode will let you be able to use all your coins on the exchange as collateral even if they are not stable coins.

The feature was not recently added but you need I think around $50000 in total crypto assets that you will need to have on OKX before you can activate the multicurrecny mode but now you can activate it even if you have no coin on the exchange.

That's one of the features I like about unified accounts. It doesn't need traders to stressed themselves when it comes to making orders in the market, we know what it feels like to make good runs in the market when it comes to trading. I do know stress is one thing that have made traders not been able to make some runnings in the market, most traders even prefer to pay for trading signals and joining telegram channels relating to trading because they want to milk the market.

Unified trading account feature, give the convenience of having your balance across Market but.

Is good to point out one risks that come with your total assets in Unified account, which is if your position get liquidated in one trade, all your total balance in the account get liquidated along with it, just hope you know that too.

I use unified too, and for the reason you give: one balance, no shuffling funds between wallets before a setup is gone. Hard to go back once you're used to it.

The part that rarely gets mentioned though is what shared collateral actually means when things go wrong. In single asset mode a bad position can only eat what you put behind it. In unified or multi-asset, everything on the account is standing behind that position, so a trade you sized "small" can end up drawing on coins you were holding long term and had no intention of risking. The convenience and the risk come from the exact same feature.

Multi-asset adds a second layer, since your collateral is itself marked to market. In a broad drawdown your collateral value falls at the same moment your position goes against you, so the margin ratio moves faster than most people expect from watching the position alone.

The other cost is measurement. With everything pooled it's genuinely harder to say what a given strategy returned, because funding, conversions and cross margin blur the lines. I keep a separate record per strategy for that reason, otherwise a month looks fine overall while one approach quietly bleeds.

So unified for execution, but I keep position sizing based on what I'd accept losing, not on what the account lets me open.

It has more advantage for good traders that focus on position holding or at least not using high leverage and not trading those volatile altcoins.

It is not good for greedy traders.

You do not need to use all your assets as collateral. Go through what I posted about it above on my last post.

This is it on another exchange:

That is bitcoin as an example, you can uncheck and other coins it so that they will not be used as collateral for derivatives trading. Okay stable coins like USDT and USDC may not be unchecked.
