I am going to report this thread as pure spamming for our local section: Marmelada | Servicio profesional de intercambio de criptomonedasYou can find exactly the same thread in other languages by doing the same thing – posting the same content, regardless of what users might ask them. For example, here famososMuertos asked a question that was completely ignored in the following (spammy) post, published 10 hours after. famososMuertos called him out here, complaint which was completely ignored again. The rest of the story is that this account continues to spam the same service with very similar posts that add nothing. I’m going to report it because of what theymos said about ‘more noise than signal’ for local boards. This is clearly noise. And if the same behaviour is repeated across different local boards I think they deserve to receive a warning at least. You cannot come to a forum to spam your service and not interact with the forum members.

I see it more like a poetry thread than an interactive thread. There's a 2-3 day gap between each post and no substantive messages at all. If it's a bot account, it's no wonder they're avoiding discussions. Anyway, look what I found https://www.allo-obmen.com/en/

I've done this: - Removed their old bumps. (possibly and probably automated) - gave them a personal message If you suspect that they're using automated tools to translate, and think its bad you can report it for that also, especially if a few from the local board report it, I'll be more likely to act as those of you who are either native speakers or reading, writing often in the local language are always going to have a better grasp than someone like myself with limited proficiency. So, several reports will always reinforce that point. Since the forum guidelines allow: 12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting topics in the local language boards if they're translated
If they continue without change, then I'll take further action You cannot come to a forum to spam your service and not interact with the forum members.
I agree, especially for local boards. I personally am of the opinion that local engagement / involvement should be encouraged as much as possible within local boards, especially if you're a user who has a service to promote. Local boards tend to be more tight knit and I do respect that! Thank you for the report.

Anyway, look what I found https://www.allo-obmen.com/en/ I don't get what you mean. Where have you found that? I've visited that site and also Marmeladka.cc and I don't see a relation between them. I have the feeling that I am the only one actively reporting there now. You may get another report from time to time but I'd bet that I am the number 1 reporter there nowadays. You don't need to reply to this but if that is the case, I can share with my fellows from the local board to try to get them more active reporting. I've sometimes seen them replying to threads that were obvious rubbish, then they were reported by me and deleted (by you, I assume).

Both sites use the exact same script and share practically identical content. The only real differences being the visual interface and the domain name.. It is possible that both sites are operated by the same owner. Since 2019 we've been helping people exchange currency and crypto — simply and without the runaround. We know the ins and outs and keep things clear. Allo-obmen: a name that sticks and sounds human. Here's to everything going smoothly for you. We are a company that has been providing exchange services since 2019. We understand how everything works, and despite our sweet name, we take our work seriously and deliver quality. Why Marmeladka? Because it's a cool, positive name — and we hope everything will be smooth and sweet for you. Another interesting fact is that the Marmeladka and Allo-obmen accounts registered only a few days apart. And they also have a very similar posting style.

So, I've been doing quite a few reports on my local board. Apart from an AI account, I've reported Marmeladka.cc again because they keep posting without interacting with comments. Also, I've just had a look at Allo-obmen, that was mentioned here, and it is exactly the same. See how the account doesn't interact with this comment https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5578796.msg66628520#msg66628520I am going to report the OP but I think those two account are just noise for the Spanish local board and the threads should be deleted (they are probably translated using online translators or AI but it will be difficult to prove).

Back then, users who posted heavily in local boards were basically ignored by merit sources and stopped getting merits. Is that not a problem anymore?

Back when? There have been merit sources appointed for local boards since the beginning AFAIK. paxmao was the first one for my local board and that was in 2018. It’s another matter entirely if you write in a language that the other merit sources don’t understand.

Back in 2018 , there were few merit sources in the local boards, You could not get crazy ranks by staying there. I was never active in any local board myself, but I remember discussions from 2018 pretty well. If you wanted to rank up you had to post in English. And if someone had all their posts in a local board, nobody in the English sections knew who they were. You could not just farm merits in a local board like people can do now. Now some local boards have so much merit going around that you can probably reach Legendary without even leaving your local board.

A lot has changed since then. Campaigns didn’t pay for posts written on local forums back then, whereas today they usually do pay for a set number of posts, and in some campaigns there’s no limit at all. By the way, and this is a question for moderators and anyone who knows how the reporting system works. How is it possible that two of my reports against Marmeladka.cc were marked as ‘bad’, yet the post was deleted, which is what I was asking for?

Wasn't me who marked the reports bad. However, I do know why they marked it bad, mainly because it was reported as something along the lines of " keeps posting without interacting with comments" (paraophrasing here) which technically the forum doesn't prohibit. However, I did actually delete the bumps because they're old bumps that should be deleted once they've bumped it again since they've been posted with no new updates / information and are merely more detailed than "bump" posts as we previously talked about.

Well, I thought they would be seen by you first because we had talked about this here but I don't know much about how reports management works. My point with this thread is that Marmeladka.cc and Allo-obmen thread should be deleted from the Spanish section. If the Best_Change thread was deleted many different local boards I think these two objectively worse threads should be deleted at least from the Spanish section. For context: <...> Local moderators need to decide on a case-by-case basis whether this kind of pure translation is actually worthwhile in their own local sections. It'd be totally reasonable for a local moderator to delete any of these topics due to being a poor translation, or even just because this sort of translation activity is simply more noise than signal in that local section.
<...>
Marmeladka.cc and Allo-obmen are probably automatically translated, although that is difficult to prove nowadays, and Best Change was deleted even though he had supposedly paid to have the threads translated, which leaves us with no other option but to conclude that the Best Change threads were deleted for being more noise than signal on those local forums. What do these two service threads (Marmeladka.cc and Allo-obmen) contribute to the local forum, apart from the fact that they’re probably automatically translated? Nothing; they simply post a message very similar to the previous one every so often, without engaging with comments from local forum members and without heeding Welsh’s warning. I've done this: - Removed their old bumps. (possibly and probably automated) - gave them a personal message
<...>
If they continue without change, then I'll take further action

You’re basically being an idiot, but thanks for giving me another service to complain about. I've just reported the three rubbish threads of that service btw. Let's see if I am lucky with the moderator lottery. So the deletion depends on a subjective criterion more like a lottery

You’re more like a moron. I didn’t realise they accepted morons as moderators. Aren’t you the moderator who’s had several complaints about you on Meta? I’m not surprised. I can’t recall a single one about Welsh, yet I remember several about you. If you see ulterior motives in someone who’s trying to clean up his local forum, I’m not surprised. No, I haven’t used any of that rubbish, you idiot. A hurt child.

Do I have to explain it to you as if you were a small child? Anyone with more than two brain cells – which is what you’ve got – understands that a moderator represents the forum and shouldn’t get involved in pointless arguments about things that are none of their business. If you’re stirring things up in a thread like this, I don’t even want to imagine how you moderate the politics section. Well, yeah, I'm a rubbish moderator, but you, of course, would be the greatest moderator ever.
That sort of statement, coming from a moderator – who’s supposed to be neutral and impartial – just goes to show what I was telling you earlier about your two brain cells (and that you use one of them just to stop yourself from shitting yourself). And I'm doing my job, don't worry about it.
No, you are not doing your job, you are doing the opposite. You are creating unnecessary controversy. If you find spam in the Spanish section, just delete it. And if you can't (I don't know if you can't) report it so other moderators can delete it but don't come here stirring the pot.
