My brother was actively involved in online gambling casinos and gambling for about three years. During that time, he invested a lot of time and money and he also gained considerable experience with casino games. However after those three years, the result was that he lost most of what he had.

Watching his experience led me to believe that, in the end  people who engage in gambling usually end up losing..
Gambling is mostly for the entertainment experience and when it is taken for profits most of the time, it should be regulated and discipline should be exercised. There are many profitable gamblers out there, its does not always end up in losses on the long run for some people.

I would not say that I have the best gambling experience but my losses has never exceeded my winnings in the long run. The best I would do during a bad day is taking a break for a moment and starting over with a fresh mindset without any pressure. The mindset is key to successful gambling experience.

Not every gambler usually end up loosing everything in the long run. In gambling, some gamblers are more favoured than others, and when you are an addicted gambler, and end up becoming very irresponsible in your gambling, you might not only end up loosing money, but you might also end up loosing your belongings or properties.
At one time or the other, we must have seen or heard of people who won big in gambling, and their financial life changed automatically, and became very stable, but the truth is that, many gamblers does not belong to this category, and winning big does not matter weather you are new to gambling or not, as anybody can be lucky to win big irrespective of the time you started gambling.
There was someone I know who usually gamble every weekend, but has gambled for years, probably more than 3 years you mentioned, and he refused to quit, he believed someday, he would win big, and eventually he won a life changing bet, and I still know there are many other gamblers out there who had the same experience.
So, while some gamblers can loose entirely, their are still some who are lucky to gain financial stability through gambling.

I can quite agree with you because if you do not know when to quit gambling, you may end up losing more; the only exception is that you are able to maintain a strong discipline, and that usually is not something that everyone can practice for the longest of time.

Some gamblers who start as disciplined can grow indisciplined from experiencing a huge loss that forces them into trying to chase and recover from the loss or from experiencing a big win that can fuel overconfidence. Other reasons could be influence from friends or others, a stressful situation that forces people to start seeing gambling as an escape, etc

It is important to be cautious of these situations that can trigger you from responsible gambling into irresponsible gambling because knowing them reduces the chances of gambling being a losing game for you in a long run.

Gambling is not a losing game at the long run and we should erase this kind of mentality to reason in such direction, it is expected of us to gamble for fun and not for earnings, we cannot outsmart the sports book, we may only try every possible best to ensure that we catch up with the fun while placing a bet, there is no assurance on what we stand to get at the end.

Some people have been gambling over the time and never mind all it caused them to do so because they see it as an entertainment, which is the right approach everyone is expected to go with gambling, I'm not to chase after losses with the intention of winning on a long run, we may make fortune out of gambling, but we must also realize that not every Gambler will have this opportunity as well.

This is largely true, gambler's who actually gain while gambling are very rare and most times do that by clear luck as most of them gain through hiting the jackpot. For a gambler to gain in gambling then such a person should have win in millions which doesn't come like that. Wining in gambling is one thing that doesn't come every day , that is why people are always engaged in continues gambling because they believe that by gambling continuously they are going to be lucky.

But if we can be sincere to ourselves, then we will discover that all gambler's do lose on the long run. If we take a critical account of our spending on gambling then you will discover that you have donated more to the Casino than what the Casino has given to you. For those who are into online gambling just go through your gambling records history that is when you are going to discover how much money that you have spent in gambling, if you sum up all the amount you have spent then you will be surprised that you have burnt down in gambling.

Lol, that was so pathetic. Maybe he wasn't gambling with a clear intention and that was what led him to what he's actually going through. However, your friend didn't gamble the right way, maybe he gamble beyond just for entertainment purposes and started switching by seeing gamble as a source of income. Furthermore, I have seen so many stories of people getting ruined all because of the way they go about their gambling dealings. As a matter of fact, gamble is mainly for fun and not the other way round, therefore this story should serve as a lesson and to make other gambler's understand that you can't play a smart one on the system, meaning even if you are on your winning streak anything can likely change at any given time, so don't always wait to learn by self experience, try to always learn from others people's experience.

That’s how it will turn out in the end gambling isn’t a place to make a living it’s more like a playground. The most rational reason for this is that there’s no surefire or guaranteed way to win it’s all based on luck.

Gambling is a business for casinos established by bookmakers, and the goal of every business is, of course, to make a profit. The difference is that they use the odds of winning as a selling point to attract attention. My question now is, who would willingly hand over large sums of money through a quick and easy process? No one.
Therefore, my advice is to get into the habit of looking into and researching what you’re getting into first. Smiley

That's the gospel truth. If many gamblers understood this, they wouldn't have given their whole time and resources to gambling, thinking that's the sure way to be rich.

You can imagine how helpless your brother could be if he looked back at what he had three years ago, compared to what he has today. He would feel empty inside of if he had known to take gambling as fun, not as what would make him rich. His losses in gambling won't be that terrible

Your brother’s experience is what many gamblers have experienced before. Some people may win in the beginning, but if they continue to gamble without control, many will some times end up giving the money back to casino. That’s how the house edge works over the long run. But I’m not saying that every gamblers must lose everything. Some people gamble wisely, they set budget and stop when they have reach their limit, whether they make profits or not.

Where the problem start is, when people see gambling as a means of survival and start chasing after losses. For me, gambling should only be seen as entertainment. Any money you can’t afford to lose, don’t use it to gamble. Your brother’s story has showed us that experience alone can’t over come the house edge if there’s no discipline.

actually the reality is that in the long run, the players will be the ones who will lose, because the casino houses are here for business, they are doing business, so they have designed everything here in such a way that in the long run, the casino house's profit will be guaranteed first. And this is why gamblers will lose more than they win here, it is a common thing. There is also another thing that exists in 90% of gamblers and that is uncontrolled play due to greed and emotion. A situation is created among gamblers where they lose their control, and then they lose a significant amount altogether. So you can never profit from gambling, and the reality is that gambling is not for profit, and even a casino house itself advises gamblers to keep the game only as an entertainment, so it is definitely not expected to be profitable, its just a entertainment.

Gambling is a win ,win game for both the bookmakers and the players both are not sure for what they stake in, both all prayer for other to lose, if you lose, the other one wins.  Don't think bookmakers arr making so much,  some weeks they loses and cry to the back to deposit more money, it's a two ways businesses that's 100%risky for both the owner and customers.  Luck played the key role in this game.

I blame anyone who's addicted to such a ame that doesn't guaranteed wining,  after staking your hard earn money, you still have to play for luck. Such investment is truly a play ground,  play when and only when you're free to play. Never put your turst in such venture.

While they are there they still only make up a very small minority of gambler and I'm talking about people who actually end up winning more than they lose in gambling and they are usually those who win an amount so big it automatically changes their lives, everyone else loses far more than they win so your conclusion isn't wrong, most lose in gambling but aside from those who are addicted to it others just tend to gamble with money they can afford to lose.

Most gambling, in my opinion, involves losing money in the long run. Unfortunately, this is true... The probability of winning in such games is less than 50%. This type of gambling includes roulette, slot machines, and other games where the outcome depends solely on luck. 🙋

There are also other types of gambling (poker, sports betting, betting platforms). In these games, the outcome depends not only on luck but also on the player's skill, ability, and knowledge. Winning in such games is also very difficult.

Therefore, if you gamble, it's advisable to understand in advance that it's just entertainment. Alternatively, you can view these games as risk tolerance training (for some people, this training can be very beneficial).

Many gamblers have really lost on the long run, and some have also recorded profit on the long run. Nevertheless, different gamblers carries different luck, there are gamblers who are on profit when you now compare both there winning streak, and their loosing streak.
So I would say not every gambler is at loss on the long run, while some have recorded losses, there are also some who have made profit on the long run.
I believe this works in different ways, some gamblers have been rewarded by patience, after loosing at the initial stage, and some also profited at the initial stage but lost on the long run.

Responsible gambling is highly encouraged among gamblers because addiction has made many gamblers to loose heavily, and even run into Dept.

Your brother's experience is very common and realistic in gambling including casinos. What we need to understand is that the bookmaker always has a mathematical advantage, so the longer we gamble the greater our overall chances of losing. That's also why you have this question, because most long term gamblers end up losing not because they lack skill, but because the rules of the game are designed that way.

So, to overcome this trap we must adopt the mindset that gambling is a paid form of entertainment, not an investment, especially if you consider it a source of income. Big wins are usually temporary unless you stop after a win, but that's difficult for most people as OgNasty said.

From your brother's experience we can actually learn that we should view gambling as entertainment so we can limit ourselves.

Essentially, gambling offers two forms of entertainment: the entertainment inherent in casino games, and the entertainment derived from winning (which I consider an additional form of entertainment). So, in gambling, you might only get one of these, or you might get both. The rest depends on one's perspective on gambling. If someone doesn't consider gambling for the entertainment I mentioned, then they are likely to fall into irresponsible gambling. This is what usually causes someone to lose very much money from their gambling. The point is; gambling won't cause significant harm to a person, as long as they can manage it well (in terms of finances, and time).

Well, you might want to ask your brother about his gambling habits, and from there, you can draw your own conclusions.

[ If you're a degenerate and like to take risks you will either become extremely rich or extremely deep in debt.
We will only sink deeper into debt. Because In this world there is no  game built for our favor.

In reality casinos always hold you below 50% of winning chance. Because those games are made by casinos to earn not to give.

Why? would someone invest on a game just to give you money think about it. In this world there is nothing like free stuff.  Large number of bets will help us in loosing money fast not to make it fast.

I can tell you they plays with us psychologically in first 4 to 5 bets they give us money just to trigger our dopamine so we invest big and lose all. And yes! we can end up in a net loss.

What he experienced is something that is common to all gambler. A lot of people don't care about the majority of gambler's that do losses money every day. There attention is focus on the testimony of the few that wins. Gambling was never designed to favour the bettor but rather the house. So I would say that the house have an hedge over bettors, it is easy for a gambler to be on a winning streak for a short term but for a long time, it will be difficult for them to remain consistent. This is the reason why people shouldn't see gambling as a means of making money rather than for fun or entertainment. Those that treat gambling as a source of income will definitely be disappointed at the end.

The longer you gamble the more likely you are to fall victim to statistics. That being said, you are also more likely to win a jackpot that way. The only sure way to come out ahead is to be constantly increasing your bet over time and then never gamble again when you hit a jackpot that puts you ahead. Most people can’t do this.
This method is unrealistic in my opinion, it is not the only way to profit but rather they become bad.
Getting the jackpot is not all what is imagined, if they win not even on a large scale the desire to play gambling continues to increase so controlling this is difficult.
Especially in a casino game that limits its max winnings, it is also difficult to get a high multiplier.

Your brother must be thinking he's stupid after spending all the time and money he's spent over the past three years without any results.

But that's gambling. You can't expect to get anything in return for the time and money you spend. That's why people often advise gambling just for fun, and not as a way to make money, like investing, because there are so many uncertainties that can occur, and more importantly, the house will always have an advantage in the long run.
