Now the world cup has come to and end, the im honestly kind of feeling bored when it comes to sports gambling and my favorite game, football
I know that there might be matches going on, but I can not just place bets with teams and league I'm not familiar with, that's another level of gambling lol.
Nevertheless I know that there are some bettors here who still bet in sports even if you are not too familiar with the league or teams, If there are how well do you get profits, because I know of a fact that if you bet on the league you are familiar with, you will make more profits that of that you aren't familiar with.

It depends on your choice of betting or interest. There are some kind of gamblers who only bet on a particular league or tournament or game. These people believe in only one league which they claim is the only league that favours them in gambling. Meanwhile, this does not make anyone to be safe from losses but minimises it. It is better to focus on a game you believe that you understand and cast your bet. There's still other ways of betting on tournaments you do not understand or familiar with which is by checking their statistics of the teams involved. This statistics gives you a glance of what the team can do. Perhaps, competitive games are more predictable based on statistics than non competitive games like this ongoing preseason games. This is because in a non competitive games, both players and coaches are usually careful not to pick injuries before the season begins and so on. So you can decide if this is what you can do or if you don't have the mind, you better wait for the season to start.

I'm waiting, I could still be playing though, it would even help me familiarize myself with all those other leagues that I haven't given a second thought to before but it feels like a lot of effort and I already have alot going on with me right now to include gambling on those other leagues, I just want to point out that while majority gamble on leagues that they are familiar with it doesn't mean that people can't gamble on other leagues, people gamble on sports they are not familiar with so a different league in the same sports they like won't be a problem.

Honestly,  I think I watched too much football during this period and needed the much needed rest  and boredom has nothing on me

Staying away is a smart move, & when it comes to betting whatever you do dont force bets or else you will be donating to the house **speaking from experience** !

I'm placing a few bets anyway, with poor results. In the end, trying doesn't hurt, and as long as I'm profitable, even if it's only slightly pleasing.
It's true that they're not exciting, also because there's no competition you want to follow. Besides following the transfer market, following friendlies or qualifiers doesn't make you want to even bother watching the matches, but in the end, for those who love football as a pastime, it's up to them to take a look and place a few bets.

The new season is just by the corner and it is going to be a long one, what i think is that it is better to use this period for relaxation and recovery so we can easily access some of our past gambling decision and make proper assessment on how to get into the coming season. most of the games that are going on at this point is just pre season friendlies and the intensity of such games doesn't fully give us a clear picture of what to expect and that has a way of affecting our gambling outcomes. 

The time between consecutive season should be spent as a break period and not to be used in gambling except you want to tell us that there is nothing going on with you outside of gambling. you have a completely life to leave if you take out gambling such if you are bored of what to do, you might as well consider that you need other means of having fun that will not involve you spending too much. you can even use this period to plan for the next season and make proper provision for your gambling activities in the coming season.

New seasons have already started, we also have qualifications... Teams from my country are in those qualifications, so I follow them, and today we have a lot of games.

I'm not so much into esports games, but those who follow them always have something to bet on... Tournaments are running almost every day, I think. So when football is quiet, there are so many other sports & esports, it's just depends on what you are into.

I prefer to wait for the new season to start rather than placing bets randomly on matches, players, or teams I'm not familiar with. However, I also sometimes place bets on random teams just for fun to fulfil my fun combo. Like once in a while. It usually consists of many teams until the odds reach the thousands. It's always a small bet, like $1 to $2, with huge odds. I treat it more like a lottery than sports betting. I guess some of you also love doing this when you feel bored or just have nothing good to bet on.

If you're asking about my stats on placing bets on random teams, the results depend on the type of bet, live or pre match. I get more wins on live bets and have suffered many losses on pre match bets. I don't know why. Perhaps it's caused by the limited betting options I use in live matches. I always bet on 1X2 and goals scored within a certain time frame in live bets, unlike pre match bets where I also place bets on over/under, total goals, 1st/2nd half goals/results, etc.

Now that the World Cup is over and the top leagues haven’t started yet, I’ve put my soccer betting habits on hold—even though there are almost always matches on the betting list, including friendlies. I’m not interested at all because those matches are beyond my ability to analyze.
Rather than wasting money on teams I’ve never followed, I’ll just play slots with a small amount of money.

Why wait for the season? I was betting on matches the day before yesterday and yesterday. Somehow I managed to get back to the amount of my deposit (I lost most of my bets). Then I just played a couple of roulette spins and doubled my deposit. The question is, why would you bet at all if you could get the best result in a minute at roulette? And the betting is more interesting because there is a sense of confidence in the result. Of course, my bankroll is small, so even if I lose everything completely, it won't be burdensome.

The major top leagues are only a few weeks away from starting, so I think it's actually for the best to take a short break after the World Cup and recharge before the new season begins. Besides it's summer, and I'm sure all of us can find something else to do, relax, and take our minds off gambling. As for betting on teams right now, especially in friendly matches, I don't think it will lead to anything good.

It is not always true that betting on familiar league will automatically result with higher profit. Sometime overconfidence is created in leagues that we know very well. And bookmakers also know that in popular leagues, everyone has information. So the odd are usually much more efficient there.

I would suggest you to  ask yourself.
Am I using better information or analysis than the market?
If your  answer is ''no'', then whether familiar or unfamiliar, EV will not change much in long run.

Like most users, I'm also waiting for the new season to start ^{[I mainly bet on EPL games (from time to time, I place some bets on interesting games from other leagues)]}, but it's worth noting that the different UEFA qualifiers ^{[UCL, UEL and UECL]} are currently ongoing, so you might be familiar with some of the involved teams ^{[I've end up losing most of my recent bets, but I'm fine with it since it's for fun]}.

There are games that you can place a bet on, you don’t have to wait for the Top Leagues to start before you can start betting, I don’t only wait for teams that I know before I’m able to bet, there are games that I can bet on with just checking on their statistics and previous matches, that would enable me to know their strengths, and also the odds of the teams can pretty tell you about something that you want to place a bet on, but if you think that you can stay without gambling until the Big Leagues starts, then you should endure and wait before you start betting again, this bigger leagues doesn’t guarantee anything that you’re going to make profits.

When it comes to sports betting, I think we don't have to be much familiar with a league before betting on it, because it is absolutely something where luck has the final say, not power or smartness.

But it's good for us to always take a break and refresh for sometime if we're not comfortable with the leagues that are on right now. Because without being told, we're supposed to have self-control all the time, since gambling is not a source of income.

When betting on an unfamiliar league, I do at least a little analysis of the two teams. I research the teams online and bet on the team that I think will have a satisfactory result. I avoid following other gamblers and never bet blindly.

The World Cup is over but I am looking forward to the popular tournaments starting next month. I have been betting regularly on those tournaments in the past season. I am well aware of the performance of those popular teams, so betting is easy and winning is relatively easy for me.

I am continuing my financial preparations for the upcoming tournaments, hoping to get satisfactory results.

It's kinda hard to just pick a team and place a bet because there's always a chance that you'll lose, unless you're bored and don't mind wasting a few tokens... real gamblers really knows when to play and, most importantly is when to stop. It is not all about making impulsive decisions, we still have to manage our bankroll wisely. That's why it is always better to study the sports first or at least have a basic background of it before placing any bets. Having some knowledge about the teams, players and the game itself can give you better insights and help you make a good deciisions, and if you're really into football, then there's nothing you can do except to wait for the next season.

That is bad if you're going to bet on a sports that you don't know. Might be better to play other games like slots or card games while waiting and see how it goes. At least, you can check your luck in those kind of games.

And probably this is a downside if you are a fan of only one sports. I mean if that seasons end, then you can't just go and bet on other games as you are not that familiar with. So it's better to learn other sports though so that you have many options on what games to bet next.

I won’t lie, when I started gambling, I literally didn’t have any good idea about the sports, I was only betting because a friend of mine was doing so and I figured out it was really favoring him. So I depended solely on luck to win, I’ll just randomly make my picks without having a slightest clue of what I was doing… and the result wasn’t all that good, but the moment I started watching and understanding the game, my bets got better, I’m not saying I started winning consistently but at least there was a huge difference between now and when I only bet randomly.

Be careful, because by gambling you don't get rich, you don't make money! it's just a way to pass time if you like it as a pastime, if you don't like it, avoid it, it doesn't make sense.
