The awaited FOMC meeting has finally taken place, and it’s now known that the FED has opted to hold rates, supporting a dovish but cautious outlook for the year, though it could seem very bearish to many.
The previous FED rate decision this year failed to provide the much-needed boost to crypto markets. As such, the yardstick for predicting prices of Bitcoin and altcoins has relied mainly on inflation, jobs, Treasury yields, dollar strength, and ETF flows, among other factors. Now that we’re getting this outcome from the FED, coupled with short-term Bitcoin holders continuing to realise losses, resulting in significant cumulative losses, what do you think is next for short-term holders? Especially seeing as several crypto analyst reports are pretty much at a consensus that the current bearish market is just a mid-cycle correction. Would there be a final flush, or would the next major move up for [Suspicious link removed]ive just in time to keep most holders happy in the market?

This topic best posted in the speculation board since it is about discussion of bitcoin price.

The news release yesterday did not cause any significant change in bitcoin price when compared to the effect it had on currency market that saw other major currencies strengthening against the dollar. The little gain bitcoin made is already being eroded as I type and that further confirms the reluctance of the market to rise just yet. In such instances, there always occur major shock in the market before any serious rise in price is experienced and if that happen, we may see bitcoin seeking another bottom of cycle but when it will happen is clearly unknown.

At some point, we must find a balance ground where bitcoin price speculations or it long term prices predictions should be void of dependence on regulatory requirements and actions, although I important for the general mainstream adoption of bitcoin.

But aside from that, bitcoin price movement both in the short term and long bases have not reacted to such negative news and fuds around the general stock and cryptocurrency market.

Nobody knows, nobody ever knows where the bottom is but that doesn’t mean you can’t begin to DCA in now. You don’t have to catch the very bottom to handsomely profit from Bitcoin investment.

The bottom could be in, it might not but don’t bank on catching the bottom because it’s very unlikely you’ll find it.

How are we preparing for the next halving in 2028?

For the sake of the newbies who may not really understand what halving is all about, read this Understanding Bitcoin Halving: Impact on Price and Investment Strategies and the essence of creating this thread is to remind us of how prepared we are towards the next halving, just as we can see the countdown, we are having about 90, 000 blocks remaining to the next halving with roughly about 626 days.

How prepared are you for the next bullrun in 2028 halving?
Based on the counter and the number of days remaining, it looks like we still got plenty of time to prepare for the halving, and we don't really need to prepare for the halving, but we just have to wait for it because as Bitcoin's history tells us, the bull run usually starts after or around the halving, which is why people always keep buying their favourite cryptocurrencies as the market goes lower so that they can fill their bags before the halving and then they just sit back and relax and let the market perform.

About my preparations, I would say that I'm accumulating bitcoins as much as I can every time I have some funds, I go ahead and get some bitcoins. I missed the buying opportunity in the last season when Bitcoin went below $20k, mostly because I didn't have funds, so I don't want to miss the opportunity this time. We don't know what the bottom is going to be, but hopefully, I can buy some more when the price is lower again because the more the better.

Those that are trading Bitcoin for short term profit already knows the risk, they won't have realised any lose if they were holding for the long term because if you don't sell cheap, then you have not lose anything. Some investors bought Bitcoin at a higher price and as we speak, their portfolio is in red/negetive but that is an unrealized lose since they have not sold any fraction of those bitcoins at a lower price that they bought it, therefore when price boom, they will be in massive profits again.

What price will do next is what anyone don't know for sure but as long as holders do not sell, even if the market plunge more than it has already done, it will bounce back and they will see a massive profit again.

No one can say the exact outcome for them.

Would there be a final flush, or would the next major move up for [Suspicious link removed]ive just in time to keep most holders happy in the market?
I'm curious what word you've put on that URL as your word but the forum tagged it and removed it automatically. Whatever it is, long term holders are always the winners. This might put some in disagreement but if we zoom out everything and the chart, you'd see that it goes up and new narratives coming in per cycle.

The truth is, at this point it's impossible to keep thinking in terms of small investors or scenarios that primarily benefit the average person. I have a hypothesis: we're approaching the flattening of the curve, although it's not visible yet simply because we're looking at the long term. That 45-degree curve isn't eternal; eventually, it's going to level off, and we might already be witnessing its early stages.

For me, the turning point came when the big investors finally arrived; the very ones the community had been asking for. That changed the game completely. The fish, and even the whales, aren't necessarily an endangered species anymore, but they're becoming something like dinosaurs: they're still around because they're big and strong, yet their influence on the ecosystem is no longer what it used to be.

And I'm not talking about institutional whales; they're the new target. Owning 1 bitcoins today is more likely to keep you afloat than to create waves.

I've used quite a few descriptive metaphors here, but I hope you get the idea.

The bottom could be in, it might not but don’t bank on catching the bottom because it’s very unlikely you’ll find it.
Bitcoin market has its cycle and the cycle rinses and repeats, even not exactly the same cycle by cycle but there are patterns, fractals and almost similar phases' time length which are very enough for long term intelligent investors to have information from the Bitcoin price chart, and build up their investment plans for accumulation, holding, taking profit.

The year ahead for markets: 2026
Bitcoin market cycles aren't coincidence.
Bitcoin price history.

Quote
Using BTC as a benchmark, a crypto market cycle typically goes something like this:

BTC hits new ATH
Then suffers a ~80% drawdown
Price bottoms 1yr after cycle top
Takes ~2yrs to fully recover to prior cycle highs
BTC rallies for another year before topping out at new ATH
The last few cycles have followed this blueprint almost to a tee.

Each of these cycles typically lasts ~4 years – and each of these cycles have lined up almost perfectly with cyclical changes in the business cycle.

These things are helpful for estimating market bottoms, times of bottoms but if the purpose is finding absolute bottom price and time for it, it's impossible.

I agree, and that’s why I believe Bitcoin’s price outlook shouldn’t be based solely on individual factors like regulatory actions. I won’t completely negate its influence, though, as Regulatory decisions can influence institutional participation and investor confidence, even if they aren’t directly affecting price. Sometimes the market has already priced in the information, or stronger underlying demand simply absorbs the selling pressure

For now, I think it's too early to call it final flush.

Nobody can be too certain with their prediction of the market even the experts know that. The market can surprise us by moving to either direction.

We can only know the bottom after the market has moved already up, that's one major problem of trying to predict the final flush.

So the best strategy now or will I say approach is to use DCA to accumulate as much as possible.
