With Bitcoin showing mixed signals across the board, xrp seems to be catching a significant wave of momentum lately, I wanted to open up a discussion here to get everyone's thoughts on the recent price action and volume spikes. A few points to consider

Market Decoupling: Is XRP breaking away from standard btc led market trends?
Key Levels: What are your short term and long term price targets for this move?
Speculation vs Utility: Is this purely a speculative squeeze, or is fundamental accumulation driving the volume?

Let's hear your technical analysis, sentiment checks, and targets. Are you buying the rip, or waiting for a pullback?

With Bitcoin showing mixed signals across the board
By saying this, it doesn't mean that this thread should belong on this Speculation board because this is mainly for actual discussion of speculations about bitcoin and not xrp.

Move the thread to Speculation (Altcoins)

Are you buying the rip, or waiting for a pullback?
No.

Never thought of it, it has been up just for this last bull run but might take another long year before it moves just like the past cycles except last year.

There's no bullish momentum that I can see yet. The last high price since June 15th was $1.29, and the market has been selling off since then. I don't hold XRP, but I mostly trade the perpetual contract, so I'm always watching the price movement. It doesn't seem like it's going to experience any price rally soon, and if you observe, it's almost in sync with Bitcoin's price, such that when Bitcoin's price pushes upward, XRP's price also goes up, just like most other altcoins out there.

The article I was reading this morning explained that XRP has reached an oversold level, so the speculation is whether the bottom has been reached or not. Its all time low this year is $1.007, which was reached in June. Based on my analysis, the price might not go below that level, provided Bitcoin doesn't dip any further below $58k.

I have been in the crypto world for over ten years now, a whole decade long period and then some, and I can assure you one thing; there will always be people who love XRP and shill it for free. I have absolutely no idea why they do that, and I have no idea what they gain from it. Not like writing a topic about it on Bitcointalk will increase its price, so it's not benefiting them that way. If this was causing the price to go up, then I would say they are doing it so that they have a bag and they can get rid of their bag when the price goes up after they post this.

But we all know, even OP knows, this post will not make XRP price go up. So I still have no clue why they would shill something like this. XRP is the original first shitcoin that we had, it is based on a COMPANY for a crypto world that was created to be decentralised. How could anyone invest in something that is literally a product of a company? That has never been something I ever understood.

Sounds lot like coping to me. Or where exactly you see this "momentum" in the charts?

Should XRP react to every move of BTC? Because not doing that is enough for decoupling from time to time, then i think that majority of altcoins have "decoupled" from btc at some point.

Key levels: I am so glad i don't have to care. It can burn to ground all i care.

Speculation vs utility: All it has is speculation, like EVERY altcoin. Even utility (which is always meta utility) is based on speculation.

I was just wondering where there is a strong positive momentum as OP said, xrp had been doing poorly for a long time as far as I know and can remember. In the last bull season, xrp did not record new ATH, I can't expect it to have a turn around come back though.

Maybe a slight 20% increase will be possible but not something outbreaking.
