Not sure if you've seen the state of consumer electronics currently but AI has pushed prices of anything with flash memory up to crazy figures. Coupled that with relatively low volume, bespoke hardware made in USA and not somewhere like China and here we are....

I've already mentioned that if new equipment is expensive, you can buy an old S19 ASIC and start mining with just one board. This will require either additional firmware or a different controller. You can also set up a node and pool on your own PC if you don't trust other solo pools.

There are ways to make money mining bitcoin, using a device like this is not it. But it is enjoyable to tinker with.

I  buy it because I purchased everything he ever sold.

And i hit a block of ltc+doge with his ltc miner.

Held the doge and sold at 17 cents a coin.

I made about 2k on  that mIner

He the builder helped with l3 miners that saved me about 2.5 kwatts an hour for a year.

The whole concept behind FutureBit and Apollo devices is a plug and play solo node + miner with essentially zero config. It's for people that want to solo/lottery mine without needing complicated DYI setups.

Standalone nodes cost 500-800 these days before you even include the SSD drive...add a 12TH miner (even a cheap chinese home miner in the same TH range) you are over 1099.

Add a $400 2TB SSD drive that is not junk and there you go.

And of course thats not taking into account high quality made in the USA engineering, Apollo OS, plug and play etc.

Obviously most of that is not for people on this forum...its for people that want to take a deeper dive into bitcoin without the extra hassle.

Unfortunately we are going to need to increase our prices further to sustain this as we had supplies locked in prior to the major component cost spikes over the last 6 months.
