Everybody knows that Trump did use his position as the President to make the $2billion unless the people who are into digital assets won't know this, and people the Clarity Act process update will also know the reason why the House hasn't supported the Clarity Act is to prevent in the future a situation where someone will use the same trick used by Trump to make $ 2 billion.

I think right now his current position will not dispose him to being investigated but if the law is passed he might be exposed to being investigated but I think he will still have lots of degree of immunity.

Generally public officials especially those that have influence should expect closer examination than Ordinary citizens. An investigation should not be seen as a declaration of guilt but as a way to establish the facts and either confirm or clear the allegation. Investigation is part of accountability but the credibility depend on it being impartial and evidence based.

If similar standards are not applied regardless of who is involved , people will always question whether the process is about justice or politics.

If this bill scales through, then nothing stops them from investigating Donald Trump and his family although it will be a little difficult to prove that they got the profits through corrupt practices as there is no guideline in cryptocurrency which they violated. However, it can be argued that he used his position as the president of the United States to influence those tokens that earned them the profits. I know there will be many people who lose money to those shitcoins who will be willing to testify in such a case. In my opinion, public officials should not be allowed to create cryptocurrency in their name because there is just so much they can do to abuse their power.

Unfortunately the biggest crook in the world right now is sat behind the desk in the white house, or more likely out playing golf at his own club. He, nor any president that follows, is ever going to give up immunity that is part of the job. Nor will they ever let their corrupt underlings be held accountable (at least not the important ones like family). This bill is just a symbolic act that is destined to go nowhere. The Democrats in Congress seem to be taking this issue too far. I support any move that ensures political officeholders do not take advantage of their position to make money. But I thought these ethical laws are already covered under the Clarity Act. Why are Democrats still putting more pressure on the president? Would they have pushed for these restrictions if Trump were a Democrats? Politicians are often perceived as selfish and bitter when their interests are not protected. So, he is already being investigated, and the authorities which have to tell the truth are in his favor because he appointed all of them, the SEC, the Fed, etc. So he is not going to be targeted by them until he is in the presidency. After that, they might use it against him for any reason.
