Obvious Game Fixing on Philippines MPBL Basketball League

Not surprised that there is match fixing in smaller sports leagues in countries likes this
Some of the players are earning $500/month so this really is nothing out of the ordinary

Yes, and sometimes the players don't even get their paychecks. Sometimes it's not even about money but pressure and threats that get the job done for the punters. Imagine they threaten a player to lose the game or play bad otherwise, their family would be destroyed, and in some places these fixers can actually do that to set an example for the others.

I agree with the above comments that the biggest and most crucial part of this entire thing is the people who fix these games, rather than the player who is merely a toy for these mafias. Once the real criminals are caught and punished, they will be scared to attempt such things in the future. Right now, the only thing that's ever touched in this entire scandal is the player who agreed to fix or succumbed to the pressure. Then new players come, and the chain keeps working.

That makes the whole situation that much worse
I can't fathom working and then not getting paid for it; even a delayed paycheck is undesirable.

Allegations of match fixing is one thing and having a capable investigative team to look into it and hand their report to an investigative panel will ensure fairness to the parties involved so that justice would be served, if their is a mistake or impartiality in the investigation it would mean punishing innocent players. If a thorough investigation is carried out and it is found out that any players and officials were involved in match fixings then they should face the full weight of the law as a warning to others that might want to follow their footsteps. I don't know how far the authorities involved have gone with their investigation, they should know that justice delayed is justice denied, let them do the needful for the reputation of their league.

If the investigation panel has not been set up yet then the judgement might not be fair and I think they should not be judged nor accused until it is actually confirmed that they are guilty of such act, I do not really understand what is happening now with the match fixing of a thing it seems to be getting common now in sport games, but what we do not yet know and can not decide is that if this league was truly involved in a match fixing what if they are innocent, but if truly they are involved in it then I think they have just ended up ruining their reputation but we seize to conclude if they are into it, until the panel carry out their investigation and I also hope the investigation will be done fairly and the right judgement will be passed because it seems everything is being tempered with now.

Every sport league already has on ground  such body that is equipped by the governing laws of the league to look into any unethical conducts such as that of match fixing. What they do is to have external investigators to join in the investigation for more transparency and without victimisation.

I hate leagues where match fixing are a thing because it's gamblers like myself that suffers from their actions which leaves me with undeserving loss.

Game fixing happens not only in Philippine, but this can be found on any settings as long as we have some greedy set of people that have inside information to take advantage of being involved in the system, though this is not as common as many may thought of, things like this could discourage gamblers from playing some specific leagues, by the time they begin to have the perception of mat fixing challenges like this, now I understand why some leagues are not being included on some casino platform.

Small leagues are an issue with match fixing and there's no country where these fixing of matches isn't going on in their small local leagues that are not that visible like the elite leagues. It's due to this that many gambling platforms doesn't include a lot of small sports leagues in their platform for gamblers to bet on. They understand it can be a bad business for them since some insiders could take advantage of those games fixing to hit a jackpot on them
