Bitmart has refused to credit me my Bitcoin.

I have been using Bitmart for long now and that is the same exchange I use to receive money for signature campaign payment too.
I sent Bitcoin to my Bitmart account since yesterday and till now it has not reflected, I have been trying to contact their customer service and they are not responding.

I'm just seeing a news today in there X account that from Jul 26, 2026, 01:30 UTC: New registrations, deposits, and new trading orders will begin to be suspended.

They were suppose to send us a mail to inform us of them shutting down, I'm so angry right now because I have just lost my Bitcoin.

If they wanted to be more transparent and not eat peoples money they would have sent there customers a mail to inform them of there decision to shut down.

Oh sorry for what you’re feeling now but it’s not entirely the fault of Bitmart. They sent out messages and posts since before 21st and there was a thread raised here in the local board about it. You missed out on all this informations, you probably don’t check your mails often too cos I guess if you’re using their services they must have sent one.
I don’t know it this will be helpful but you can tag them on X and lay your Complaint there, I know people get faster response tagging big companies on X.

Not your keys not your coins. What if you are on the other forum and the payment is paid by a mixer? There were people that have been affected this way before.

Best is to first receive your coins on a noncustodial wallet. Although, no much problem if you are receiving the coins from gambling sites.

Do not hold your coins on exchanges.

I read on the news that there is slow withdrawal processing since the shutdown news came out, I guess at the time that something like this would happen.

It's very bad that the exchange didn't send its customers emails concerning its unfortunate shutdown. I don't use BitMart, but I was able to get the information beforehand because someone also made the same complaint on the general board, and the member has not confirmed whether they later received their coins or not.

It would be very unethical and would give the team behind the exchange a bad reputation if they don't resolve customers' issues and refund their coins before shutting down fully. In this case, I don't see how it is entirely the customers' fault that they still deposited to the exchange when the exchange didn't even give prior information regarding the closure of the exchange.

What do you mean by it is not their fault are they supposed to just put out the information of there shutting down only on their X account, are they not suppose to send a mail to all their customers telling them or informing them of there shutting down, for crying out loud and exchange is just like a bank that involves financial transactions they hold money for people and if they want to shut down they should send a mail to their customers informing them of their decision.
What will become of their customers that are not using X, how will they see the information.

Bitmart knew that if they don't send their customers a mail and if they put it on there X account alone a lot of there customers won't see it, I believe they did this on purpose just to defraud some of their customers.

This is something that many of us on the naija board should remember, not your key, not your Bitcoi/crypto. Inded if you were aware, you might have seen the news of Bitmart exchange shutting down because a member of this local board posted on July 26th that Bitmart exchange would stop accepting deposits, stop trading in August, and shut down all operations in January.

Another thing to note they have published a notice on their website or official social media that this exchange will be closed, but I noticed that they did not personally warn millions of users in advance via email, otherwise this exchange might have been under additional pressure. However not only Bitmart but also Bitmex exchange has shut down, so it is clear we should not be holding Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies on any exchange.

That’s quite unfortunate sorry to hear that, They could have done a better job in communicating that. I hope you don’t have a significant portion there, but regardless I’m not totally sure your coins are lost forever, from the announcement it says it won’t be credited automatically so more like you would need manual intervention so you should follow up.
Further more I would advise against keep significant portion of your bitcoin in centralized exchnagers unless you plan to exchange it

I have for long stopped using BitMart and the exchange was never fascinating for me to use. About sending their customers emails that they want to shutdown, not every user checks their email for updates on the services they’ve registered. So even if they’ve sent it to their users which I don’t have an idea about, they’ll have missed that and went to deposit there again. I have come across many threads about BitMart shutting down in this forum, I’m surprised you didn’t see that until today.

Sorry for what happened and I hope you eventually receive the money since they haven’t completely shutdown and move your funds out again. In such case, they should have deactivated all deposit addresses that’ll send a message before sending that this address is not correct or can’t receive money. I hope they don’t take advantage of this and run away with people’s funds since they already sent the news out that they’ll be shutting down their operations.

I have not being able to access my X account, looks like a network connection problem. But from the image you sent, the number of followers in that account and also the account not having a blue tick raise suspicion to me. I doubt it is their customer support team account. Just don’t rush into sending them sensitive information yet.

Well, you can see that they are shutting down.. and that’s tied to the fact that they are out of funds to finance the project.
You have no choice at the moment than waiting till they eventually that responding to pending withdrawal or sorry to say that they can just vanish with all remaining customers assets.

A few days ago this thread was created on exchanges board stating that bitmart will be shut down its operations on the 23 September 2026.

I think you guys need to visit the exchanges section more often or track the exchanges board using the telegram bot so you won't miss updates like this when they are posted.

Because, assuming you are the type who visits this section of the you could have gotten the update that bitmart will be shut down operations.

However, the mistake has been made, and nobody knows if they will credit your account so that you can withdraw your Bitcoin before they fully shut down operations by September.

And there are a lot of open source wallets you can use to be receiving your promotional rewards, therefore go to the wallets section and pick one that you like and start making use of it, instead of using centralized exchanges.

It’s so sad that you were affected by this, although it’s been days now that I became aware that Bitmart were shutting down. It was a trending issue on Social Media. But have you really checked if you didn’t receive an email from bitmart regarding their shutting down? I find it hard to believe that an exchange like bitmart will be shutting down without notifying their customers. Sometimes it is good we always check our spam folder too. At times emails ends up in the spam folder and we might not know we have received a mail.

Brother I feel your pain, because na the same thing wey me self suffer. I even post about the matter for beginners and help board so that some persons wey never get the update fit know say this kind thing dey sup. Bitmart no really try at all because Dem no give people proper notice and even as them fail to do that one, dem come still make things worse because their customers support chat is so poor and to respond person na big war, I don create so many tickets base on the same issue but yet still no proper handling by the team.

I don't know if it's on this local board or the public board. I saw a thread that alerts those who are using BitMart that they will be shutting down on the 26th of July, which is a few days away. From my point of view, I believe they stop deposits for now, and I'm sure they might have set a date for all their customers to withdraw their funds from the platform. However, right now many people are trying to withdraw their money from the platform, but it looks like they are also having challenges because the platform itself is congested due to multiple withdrawals.

Always use a non-custodial wallet, fees are cheap, it won't cost you anything serious to pay a fee less than $1, it will save you from common losses like this.

From my little look around in the forum, I can understand why most people use CEX which is to break unnecessary account connection with their friends which they might transact with, but the forum never believes it's a harmless transaction and it can result to receiving negative tags if the accounts in question have participated in same contests or campaign. I don't think fees are the issue at all, people want to leverage on the lack of trace when sending funds between and from CEX as dem no get strength to explain wetin no one go wan believe. CEXs are not bad, just hold there what you can afford to lose.

On my earlier post I said they normally send mails for this kind of situations, maybe you didn’t get and I advised you tag their account on X but the account that replied you is definitely not their account. The main account should have a blue tick and millions of followers.
I’m assuming they’re having a congested network, so with time they’ll resolve it or not, prepare your mind for the outcome while still trying to get back your money.

Literally it seems the message you received from the Bitmart support team is actually a scammer who is trying to scam many people through fake accounts, it seems to me the risk of fraud in the guise of Bitmarts employees will increase after the announcement of the closure of Bitmart exchange, so everyone should be careful. It should also be noted that this exchange will not message any members in advance via their social media.

By the way, I'm publishing the official Twitter account of Bitmart exchange where their number of followers is over one million and there is their official announcement they are suspending their deposit service from July 26th, as a result of which any asset deposited will not be deposited automatically.

So sorry for your loss. I saw a similar post on beginners & help a couple of days ago, I’m not sure if it’s the same exchange ( I will have to confirm). At this point, you may want to start accepting that your money is gone and it’s possible there won’t be any compensation from the exchange. They have shutdown operations and couldn’t care less about reputation at this point. Anyone contacting you about recovering your funds is a scammer.
