I have been using Bitmart for long now and that is the same exchange I use to receive money for signature campaign payment too.
I sent Bitcoin to my Bitmart account since yesterday and till now it has not reflected, I have been trying to contact their customer service and they are not responding.

I'm just seeing a news today in there X account that from Jul 26, 2026, 01:30 UTC: New registrations, deposits, and new trading orders will begin to be suspended.

They were suppose to send us a mail to inform us of them shutting down, I'm so angry right now because I have just lost my Bitcoin.

If they wanted to be more transparent and not eat peoples money they would have sent there customers a mail to inform them of there decision to shut down.

please everyone should avoid and stop using Bitmart

I created a thread to inform people of the latest development in Bitmart, I don't know if you came across that, I guess not cause if you did you won't have sent funds to your wallet there. You made a mistake bro, You shouldn't have used an exchanges deposit address to receive payments from signeture campaign. now that the exchange closes the deposit feature which is why you need to change the address in signeture campaign sheet for future paymens.
What will you do if campaign manager ask you to sign a massage from that exchange address? You should've use at least one extra address Incase you need to prove yourself by signing a massage.

-snip-
Anyone contacting you about recovering your funds is a scammer.
Good advice, scammer especially terget desperate users like OP.

Luckily for the OP, I no think say any manager go ask you say make you sign message if you wan change your receiving address for your campaign. But that thing fit be issue if to say people dey suspect say the account don change hand. Na why e good say make you stake your bitcoin address for forum to avoid wahala.

Bitmart has existed for long, offering many crypto features including their Bitpay card. I got to know Bitmart because of their launchpad that pays well if you are an earlier at that time. To hear the news of shutting down is alarming because I never expected them to shutdown so soon but to be clear, Bitmart trading volume in recent time has gradually reduced.

They were suppose to send us a mail to inform us of them shutting down, I'm so angry right now because I have just lost my Bitcoin.
Don't act like you don't know how who have ownership over your coins when its left in a custodian wallet? Not your keys, not your coins.
Bitmart made announcement on the shutdown. Maybe you weren't subscribed to receive newsletter? Some people I knew said they received an email.

please everyone should avoid and stop using Bitmart
I stopped using Bitmart for a very long time.
Bitmart had so many unnecessary security levels, I don't know about now.
Well, among the exchanges I've used Bitmart is the worst.
Surprisingly they exist for only 9 years while other exchanges have been here for long yet without creating a bad reputation for themselves.

I created a thread to inform people of the latest development in Bitmart, I don't know if you came across that, I guess not cause if you did you won't have sent funds to your wallet there. You can complain to their customer service or heed to IceLincoln's advice. You acted out of ignorance and they may use that against you.
This is why I've been advising people to embrace self custody cause third party wallets are not trusted anything can happen. I hope more people who use that exchange would get informed of the shutdown and avoid making same mistake you made out of ignorance.

Mistakes can happen to anyone. Don't call the mistake of our brother to be ignorance of something he is not aware of, on time. Cause I believe that if he is aware that Bitmart has shut down, he won't think of sending his Bitcoin to the exchange; he would have sought another alternative.

What our brother needs at this time is not our blame, cause already he has been feeling that way, to blame himself for not being aware of all this happening with Bitmart on time. It's heartbreaking for someone to lose money he or she didn't bargain for.

This is why i like the local board and also set notifications for new threads on the local board because any information concerning exchange wallets are always made in the local board as soon as the information gets to someone. But however, the exchange is supposed to send mail across to all their customers instead of making the post on their social media platform.

People will always ignore signs till dey see wonders. Many times we have highlighted the importance of using a self-custody wallet but some people will still think that they will be smart enough to receive coins on exchanges and convert it immediately but they forget that 'dining with the devil requires a long spoon'.

Dude, not being aware simply mean ignorance so were saying the same thing although you seem confused about my statement, moreover I didn't say that he doesn't know what he's doing but that he was ignorant of the information which was why he sent his coin to Bitmart exchange.
The mistake has been done and he must have learnt from it, I just hope that he'll learn from this experience and embrace self custody like i advised before. Bitmart too messed up, they should've emailed every customer instead of uploading it on their X,account alone.
