Just to be clear Gambling is no BAD.
I go through topics and replies, some just talk of gambling like it's some type of awful activity and shouldn't be done by people.
But that's actually wrong. Gambling is not bad, I wouldn't say it's good as well, it's literally just an activity and it completely okay for someone to gamble as long as your above age 18.

What's actually wrong is the approach people use to gamble, it has been advised a lot of times that gambling shouldn't be taken to seriously, don't expect gambling to be a side hustle or a source of income. If you do such then you are the one with the problem, gambling is not the problem, it you that is.
Just like driving a car, if you choose to drive recklessly and you get an accident, you are the cause.

So instead of saying gambling is bad (which is not) it's better to advise more on how to stay on the purpose of gambling have fun, the risk involved is just like normal expenses, like paying to play a video game of something similar.
If you need some money, you shouldn't gamble for it. After all mathematically your going to loose in a long run, so what's the use of you imagining some unrealistic wins.

Problem is not only the attitude of the gambler, but also the design of gambling product. So it's easy to say "just entertainment", but not everyone's brain can maintain self control in same way.

To me gambling is neither good nor bad. It's high-risk entertainment. So the responsibility is on both sides.

Mindset plays an important role in gambling, but it is so unfortunate that many gamblers don't consider their mindset before gambling. Well this is easier sad than done otherwise how would you explain a lot of desperate cases here and some hidden as well trying not to show their full suffering and just barely talking about it. The problem is that gambling is an activity like you say but the biggest trap is when you win big as that tells the person that he did once so it will happen again which in fact is the biggest lie that us gamblers tell ourselves. Today I won from 20 dollars to 360 dollars and then withdraw 250 dollars which is a good amount yet I wanna believe the remaining 110 will do me good which is not guaranteed and most probably will totally destroy me if I choose to play again. Of course I will as I want to win a huge max win but gambling is not entertainment as from 20 dollars that I wanted to spend for fun ended up trying to reach a max win.

I agree with you on this point, as well as with the car driving analogy you used with one caveat if someone truly understood the nature of gambling from the start. If they had no idea what gambling was actually like for instance, someone from a rural area with limited knowledge then I don't think the fault lies entirely with them.

My reason for saying this is that there are people who are fully aware that gambling is a system where the odds are stacked against them however, I’m not talking about the long term here. I’m referring to those initial instances where someone plays just a few times and their very first experience results in a win.

And let us not forget that this forum is full of signature wearer who earn money by posting while advertising for casinos/sportsbooks. I am sure they will not tell you whether gambling is bad or not. They will only say the things that they think their signature manager would want to hear.

So it really is a subjective question on what is bad, what is good.

Gambling is not the enemy!! It is the way people approach it that causes the actual problems. When you see it as entertainment and set a budget you are comfortable losing, it will surely stay within its lane but the issue starts when people treat it like a job or a way to fix their finances. That is when the lines become blur and losses start to pile up. It is just like drinking alcohol. A glass with friends is fine. Drinking to escape your problems is a different story. Truth be told, gambling is not really bad, what is bad is how a gambler gets to overspend much money and time on it. There are responsible people and irresponsible people in the world of gambling. So I believe that proves that gambling is not bad, so long as there are responsible people that are gambling and they are not addicted to gambling in any way. The correct message to me would be, if one is going to gamble then it should only be from his entertainment budget. Never as a source of income or solution to financial problem. As we are human being it is natural to expect to win but also accept that it is not realistic to expect long term gain. Because to the casino it's a business after all, right? Therefore, your loss limit should be set in advance, got it? Instead of hunting to recover your lost capital, game should be eliminated asap when your fun is over.

Everyone knows that if you abuse or use something wrongly, then you will get negative results, and this is what is happening to so many people who have chosen to gamble with the wrong mindset. It's a tale repeated many times here and comes down to personal freedoms really. I'd prefer to live in a country that lets people do these forms of entertainments that as long as your responsible, don't hurt anyone else. Maybe it would be good if there were some limits so a new gambler had to build up the max amount they could spend per day/week, because some people get hooked and throw money away in a very short time. Every gambling site should offer good self exclusion abilities too, because there are lots of people out there who don't have self control, especially the younger generations who have little experience with the addictive properties of certain games. The gambling industry is designed to lure you into gambling, lose as much money as possible and in turn make the casino more profitable. In my experience, and I think it’s the same for most of the people here on the forum - the only way to beat gambling addiction or the vices that come with excessive gambling is to not start gambling in the first place. That’s the reason why there are so many threads about gambling addiction because we have seen it torn families apart, and ruined lives. Being a responsible gambler is much harder in real life than it is on paper.

Yes, it should be so, gambling is considered as entertainment, fun in your spare time, you also have to spend as little money as possible so as not to experience big losses.

The problem is, excessive people play gambling a lot, to sacrifice everything including suicide because of large debt losses everywhere, especially when it has been published on social media, it will be considered bad by the people around it.

Whether something is good or bad is actually quite subjective and depending on the personal view of each one of us. Specially when we talk about something like gambling.
The average Muslin will tell you gambling is inherently bad because (according to Muhammad and the Koran), gambling is a tool used by the devil's to destroy people.
On the other hand, most Catholic people will tell you gambling is okey and there is nothing wrong with it as long as one is in control of one's actions.

I personally believe gambling is not inherently bad or evil, but it can make people to commit serious mistakes, because of greed and love for money...

The reason why there is a legal gambling age is for people to take full responsibility for their actions.  Children are not mature enough to make thoughtful decisions.  I am not pleased with gambling companies that promote gambling in areas where children will be exposed to it. Underage children should be protected from influences that could make them become gamblers.

Having said that, moderation is essential in everything we do. People can be addicted to anything, including food, movies, and alcohol. Gambling is not a bad activity, but it becomes a problem when abused. The activity called gambling is as old as man. And those who responsibly engage in it wouldn't say it is bad. Adults should strive to control themselves. And they should seek help if they can't control themselves.

Gambling is risking money or something valuable in hopes to win something more valuable and bigger solely based on chance. It’s been advice to use money you can afford to lose or spare change to gamble and not money needed for basic life expenses.
