Sorry but this is going to be another topic which connects the coldcard hacked. Now let get into the main point, the hacker group has hacked or compromised the cold card. If we scan their wallet, we can still see the amount mentioned below. Now My question here is that will they never be caught? Or will they just use Mixers to get their funds blacklisted to whitelisted? Is it possible for the mixer authorities to block the bitcoins in their wallets when they send them for mixing? And are there any examples where funds have been seized or transactions blocked?

There is a high chance that they can get free if they never make any mistake that can lead to reviewing their identity; some of them might also get caught in time to come, maybe 5-10 yrs from now, like we have seen in some cases, and some of the money will be recovered but won’t be going back to victims. Their chance of not getting caught is very high based on some hackers' past records. Is it possible for the mixer authorities to block the bitcoins in their wallets when they send them for mixing? And are there any examples where funds have been seized or transactions blocked?
That’s not the work of a mixer; don’t forget that a mixer is not a regulated service, so don’t expect them to do that unless that mixer just wants to take the money for themselves (which is also against their policy). I don’t think a mixer even checks if a coin is coming from a blacklisted address or not; they just run their business. The real danger might lie with the mixer that might be used, as they will be under target more than the government ever targets such a service.

There are several different ways this attacker can get caught and sending coins through a mixer is never foolproof. The feds have ways of breaking the mixer trail using statistical analysis. At the end of the day, the attacker will need to spend his mixed funds somewhere real (what is the point of stealing $30 million if you can't buy a fancy car and penthouse apartment with it?) -- that is most likely where he will get caught.

Given the centralized nature of some mixers ,yes they can block transactions (if they want to) but I doubt the hacker would go through that route, or through anything where there is a risk of having the funds blocked. As for the person or people behind this getting caught, then as mentioned above, it all depends on the mistakes they might[1] have made in the past, or are going to make. Or will they just use Mixers to get their funds blacklisted to whitelisted? Hackers know what they are doing and they would have also planned an escape routes that will make the whole thing on traceable about them receiving those coins, for people to be that smart, I don't expect they can be able to be slack enough in allowing for any possible means of tracing them through their transactions. Is it possible for the mixer authorities to block the bitcoins in their wallets when they send them for mixing? And are there any examples where funds have been seized or transactions blocked?
Mixers are independent and not regulated, so do I expect them acting in any form against this their own discretion except they wanted to claim those coins as they wish.

As for the person or people behind this getting caught, then as mentioned above, it all depends on the mistakes they might[1] have made in the past, or are going to make.
If the hacker is very good at stealing, catching him will be very difficult, he knows to be very careful about how he moves the coins. At the end of the day, the attacker will need to spend his mixed funds somewhere real (what is the point of stealing $30 million if you can't buy a fancy car and penthouse apartment with it?) -- that is most likely where he will get caught.
Is this even possible, except that the country has a very low population of wealthy people, so every huge source of funds has to be questioned. 1000+ BTC stolen has to be from a smart group or individual, It's only going to be karma if they eventually get caught. Mixers are a very good way to close the trace. They can make use of different mixers, split across different receiving addresses with unequal amounts and different timing, it will be hard to trace all the coins to a particular source.

This is currently high profile And many eyes are already on it and watching any movement. I believe they would have to leave it for some time but already seeming like Mt Gox. Or will they just use Mixers to get their funds blacklisted to whitelisted? it doesn't guarantee they won't be traced. Trails are harder doesn't mean impossible. Recall The Blockchain is public.

These hackers know how they can withdraw out of that wallet without been caught, already, they know eyes are watching on the wallet to track which centralized exchange, mixer to be sent to, they will gonna send to wherever they want to and won't be caught.t
If they be using mixers, splitting into different mixing services will be possible which will be hidden except those mixers haven't been contacted to mark any transactions that comes from that Bitcoin address- don't know if this possible.
I know for sure that centralized exchange address can be traced, there are explorers that detect if an address belongs to Binance and stuff like that, I doubt they'll use cex.

Since all transactions on the blockchain are traceable, I'm pretty sure if they moved all those Bitcoins, this would immediately attract the attention of the authorities and allow them to investigate the movement further and trace where the funds were transferred. So it's not an easy matter for these hackers to think of a way to cash out without exposing themselves – only time will tell if they can do that or if they make a mistake and get caught.

Those who are capable of hacking, not just by playing some cheap trick, are capable of hiding their trace if they are very patient, for their money still being in the wallet might mean they are still calculating the best possible ways to make away with it without leaving a trace back to their real identity, but they always have a way of not; they won’t be making moves to steal such money in the first place.

Well, the money is a lot and there's high chance they make mistake somehow when trying to spent it . They already attract so much attention at the same time and a lot of bodies are waiting for that mistake to happen even if it's just one Mixers are a very good way to close the trace. They can make use of different mixers, split across different receiving addresses with unequal amounts and different timing, it will be hard to trace all the coins to a particular source.
Not all and any mixer willing to take the deal must have some balls or they probably gonna end up beign seized. They probably going to consider other service options. I doubt they'll use cex.
Alright, this is funny What are the odds . It will be really satisfying to see it happen .

I think the Real question would be: Will these Mixers check where the funds are coming from? There have been cases of Mixers getting seized over similar cases like this, but yet more and more cases still tend to surface so I won't be surprised if one of these big mixers get affected or maybe the hacker can decide to chose other route of cleaning the money but one thing is certain and that's the fact that any Mixer that accepts the funds will most certainly be seized by the authorities.

Actually, I know that mixers are not a regulated service, but will the mixing happen through them, like transferring from one wallet to another, like transferring hundreds or thousands of wallets? This is not the main issue, another factor is at work here, that mixers, even if they want to keep themselves safe, will take some steps to hold these black funds or make mixing not possible. Because we have seen before that mixers have also been seized due to mixing through black fund mixers like "Si**ad" and also seen on the exchange as well. happy to see you are using bitcoindata.science images and thank you for this outstanding tools.

For a while the coin will remain in the wallet now, the hackers may not have thought of obscuring the coin, it could be that their plans are crazier than what we imagine. Onchain analysts are still on the move to observe their patterns, and suppose that coins sent or exchanged anywhere will continue to be tracked.

This kind of thing we can only speculate, but there are always ways for them to use and mixer is just one of the options and they won’t even think of moving all the coins there down to one mixer alone that will put all the target in one, and the mixers will also have to decide if they want to get their service under serious attack by the 3 letter agencies or not, since mixers have always appeared to be seen as tools by bad actors some might actually not care.

Sorry but this is going to be another topic which connects the coldcard hacked. Now let get into the main point, the hacker group has hacked or compromised the cold card. If we scan their wallet, we can still see the amount mentioned below. N ow My question here is that will they never be caught?
Or will they just use Mixers to get their funds blacklisted to whitelisted?
Is it possible for the mixer authorities to block the bitcoins in their wallets when they send them for mixing? And are there any examples where funds have been seized or transactions blocked?See, you have just got to understand that before Bitcoin and crypto currencies in general became wildly or more adopted in recent times, the government has spent so much in ensuring that they have the tools to monitor and pinpoint major issues that may arise while using the services and systems that make its use efficient for both individuals and for large institutional holders. So when hackers steal, the information is open on the Blockchain for all to see and it might just be a matter of time before the government clamps down on such hackers when they start moving the funds like the example of Bitfinex that happened in 2026, where the hackers stole 119,754 BTC and guess what, no matter how long the hackers waited until they tried to move the funds, they were caught. If this incident happened back in 2916 when technology was still growing, imagine now where technology has gotten more sophisticated with the incision of AI that even makes the job easier. Finally, the kind of mixers available for use right now fall into the CEX and DEX category and we know already how using CEX is quite an open secret because they are much more regulated and monitored. Also I believe that mixers don't whitelist Bitcoin that is in the context, 'dirty'.

Now My question here is that will they never be caught?
I think they will definitely be caught one day. Because this is not just a simple issue, but a major international incident. It is very difficult to hide such a large amount of Bitcoin and such high surveillance with such a large amount of funds forever. Or will they just use Mixers to get their funds blacklisted to whitelisted?
If a mixer wants to ruin their reputation or get noticed by law enforcement, they will accept such a hotly debated fund . Ofc no reputable mixer would risk accepting such a high profile stolen fund.

Or we could stop giving them ideas? Haven't they been identified already tho? There are a few ways to get all that money out clean, there's coinjoin, there's XMR, there's mixers, swaps... Lots of options if you're really keen on it. the question's whether they're gonna be smart enough to do it But man, this one's hurt so many people....

Is it possible for the mixer authorities to block the bitcoins in their wallets when they send them for mixing?
I think it's possible for them to block the addresses if they're centralized but for the decentralized ones. I think that they can't. And are there any examples where funds have been seized or transactions blocked?
I think in the past connected to lazarus group and why the mixers have been banned in the forum. As for these hackers, they probably will let the addresses seated for a while before the move.
