[RESOLVED] Luckiest Casino undisclosed bonus rule ate my $755.80 deposit

What happened::

I deposited $755.80 at Luckiest casino (luckiest.com) and took their 200% welcome bonus. That credited $1,511.60 in bonus funds, so my starting balance was $2,267.40.

I read the bonus terms page and the excluded games list before I deposited. I played Big Bass Splash, which is not excluded. 439 spins at $4 each, $1,756.00 wagered in total.

I had a short bad run and my balance dipped to $2,120.20 at the lowest point. That is a drawdown of $147.20 out of my $755.80 deposit. Then I recovered and got up to $2,924.60, which put me $657.20 in profit.

Wagering progress was sitting at 3%. I was never going to clear that, so I decided to drop the bonus and carry on with my own money. Before clicking cancel I re-read the terms. Here is what the bonus terms page says:

Forfeiting an active bonus immediately removes all bonus funds and any winnings accumulated from bonus play. Any remaining real money balance is not affected by the forfeiture and remains available for withdrawal, subject to any applicable withdrawal requirements.

So I expected to give up the $1,511.60 bonus and the $657.20 in winnings, and to keep my $755.80 deposit. The cancel confirmation popup only warned me that I could not use the bonus again. It said nothing about losing my balance.

I clicked cancel. The full $2,924.60 was removed. Balance went to $0.

Support kept telling me this is just how their bonus works and would not explain it. After a week of chasing them, the owner finally posted how it actually works:

Our bonus works like this;

- Players real money is used first.
- Any wins from the real money go into bonus funds

That second line is what cost me my deposit, and it is not written anywhere on their site.

Why this not disclosed rule is harmful

Deposit $100, take a small 20% bonus ($20). Bet $10 a spin and win every single spin at 2x. Stake comes out of cash, win goes into bonus:

Spin 1 - cash $90, bonus $40
Spin 5 - cash $50, bonus $120
Spin 10 - cash $0, bonus $220

See what I mean?

In any other casino with dual balances, wins from cash go back into cash. In every casino, the bonus gets converted to cash after wagering. The cash does not convert to bonus while wagering.

A $20 bonus on a $1,000 deposit swallows the whole $1,000 the exact same way.

And none of it is written down anywhere

"Real money is used first" is on there. So is "forfeiting removes bonus funds and winnings from bonus play." Both are standard and I have no issue with either.

The one line that actually cost me my deposit, that wins from real-money bets get paid into the bonus balance, is on none of them. Other members went looking for it too and could not find it. The only place it exists is in the casino's own forum post, written a week after they took my money.

The cancel confirmation popup does not mention it either. It only warns that the bonus cannot be reused. It does not tell you how much you are about to lose.

My bet history proves I never lost my deposit

The worst I was ever down was $147.20. Run my exact bets with no bonus at all and I finish with my deposit plus $657.20. I never touched their bonus money.

They refused to reinstate the bonus and said it is not technically possible to reverse. Their final position is that everything worked as intended. They credited $40 worth of free spins and paid $37 weekly cashback.

I want my deposit back, minus what they already credited me.

Additional Notes:

Most of their players are not on this forum. Their account here is new and this ANN thread is where the bonus mechanics finally got explained. That explanation exists nowhere on the site itself. Every player who signed up from anywhere other than Bitcointalk is claiming this bonus with no way of knowing what it does.

That player deactivated the bonus, accepted losing the bonus funds, free spins and the deposit tied to it, and then found the casino had also blocked the real-money balance from an earlier first deposit that had nothing to do with the bonus. They also state that support told them their withdrawal would not be approved unless they claimed the deposit bonus, and posted screenshots of it.

So this is not a one-off and it is not me misreading something.

To be clear about what I am and am not disputing. Real money used first is normal. Losing bonus funds and bonus winnings on forfeit is normal. I have taken bonuses at 30+ crypto casinos and I expected both. What is not normal, and what is not written on their site, is converting real-money winnings into bonus funds so the deposit can never survive.

They can keep the $657.20 in winnings. I want my deposit back.

This happened to me before as well. Back then, I didn't bother reading the bonus terms carefully. I avail the deposit bonus and while I was still wagering, I decided to cancel it. After I canceled the bonus, my deposit disappeared too. If I remember correctly, it happened on bcgame.

Yes, if it was just a simple mistake in the setup, then customer service or the casino can resolve it in better ways by manually refunding the deposit funds, but what if this setup was intentional?

If me from Luckiest Casino, at the time doggywin was sharing his issue. I will immediately just return the deposit money even against their rules, cause:
- Balance are more than started balance
- doggywin are in winning condition
- doggywin are willing to drawdown of $147.20 out of his $755.80 deposit money of her own volition
- Waggering being made is also not really big at all
- Then, starting with this case solved at the same time. I as casino will clarify or edited the rules, so there will be no case like these again in the future.

Unless the balance are 50% less than the started balance & OP is lossing. Then, I will stick or side with the casino.

Sometimes you must be soft for some case, make a statesment, clarify the issue and be firm for next one (In case somethings like these are appears again) but the different for next one they have a strong claim and the rules favour to them after fixed some confusion or bad setup.

Since bonus terms between casinos can be different from one to another, you should make more detailed terms to avoid confusion or complaints.
As far as I can read in this case, the one which is about "winning from real money goes into bonus funds while taking bonus" is unusual and the main issue here.
If you want to keep this terms, it should be written clearly on your bonus terms page and maybe add an example there so there will be no similar complaints in the future.
I have appreciate your decision to give the mentioned amount back to the user and I believe it is the best and the fairest solution you make.

A decent solution would have been to update the ToS to ensure there was no doubt that winnings from deposited funds go towards bonus funds. This still hasn't been done.
Since the terms and conditions don't state this, Luckiest should apologize for confiscating the winnings and deposit, citing nonexistent ToS rules. And, of course, refund everything - the deposit and winnings, not just a portion of the deposit.

The problem is just a balance setup between real balance & bonus balance + information on any winning amount are going to the bonus balance is not stated clearly in the rules and some rules are unclear or make user confusion.

Luckiest should apologize for confiscating the winnings and deposit, citing nonexistent ToS rules. And, of course, refund everything - the deposit and winnings, not just a portion of the deposit.

What casino transfers your winning with real money into bonus winnings?

Any normal casino that doesn't look at ways to screw their user more than games already do would make the player play with bonus money first and obviously bonus winnings would be unlocked only if the wagering amount is reached.

Hi guys, I was credited $678.80 and received the withdrawal just now. This along with the cashback, I have received my deposit back.

No claim on the winnings, I had agreed to forfeit when I clicked cancel.

The bonus terms still remain as it was, they should either pause the bonuses or include and highlight the real money to bonus money conversion into the terms. They have agreed to do that. I am withdrawing the accusations.

Method 1 (used by many major casinos like Betpanda)

Bets debit the real balance while it has funds. Wins from real bets credit the real balance.
The bonus balance activates only when real hits zero. Wins from bonus bets credit the bonus balance.
Wagering accrues only on bonus-funded turnover.
Forfeiture voids the bonus balance only. The real balance is untouched.

Method 2 (Very common)

Bets debit the real balance, or split between real and bonus. Real-funded wins credit the real balance, bonus-funded wins credit the bonus balance.
Wagering accrues only on bonus-funded turnover.
Forfeiture voids the bonus balance only.
A player who wins early (like I did) can withdraw both deposit and in many versions the winnings from the real money. A player who burns through their real balance (under real bet wins go to real balance) has nothing of their own left to forfeit.

Method 3 (conversion, but with consent)

The player buys the bonus with their real balance. The real money becomes bonus money immediately, and the player knows it.
Tower.bet runs this. Players aren't fond of it and don't use it, but it is transparent, players don't gets ambushed.

Method 4 (locked balance, unlocked in tranches)

The bonus sits locked and releases in stages as turnover builds, at roughly 10-20% of the house edge generated.

Yours look like Method 2, but is running Method 3 without transparency.
