[PSA] To everyone who collected my early Bitcoin art (Opendime)

I wanted to make this post because I genuinely care about my collectors.

Some of my earliest artworks (around 2017) were loaded using Opendime devices. With the recent discussions around the COLDCARD MK3 entropy issue, I don’t want anyone to panic or make rushed decisions.

As of the current information from Coinkite, Opendime is NOT affected by the COLDCARD MK3 issue.

However…

Don’t trust. Verify.

That’s one of Bitcoin’s core principles.

One important point I’d like to clarify:

I intentionally used Opendime devices to store the funds in my collectibles. This means both my collectors and I know exactly what hardware is securing those coins. If an issue were ever discovered with Opendime in the future, everyone would immediately know which devices are affected and could simply follow Coinkite’s official guidance.

The bigger concern is for collectibles where the private keys were generated using a COLDCARD MK3. In many cases, collectors have no way of knowing how those keys were originally created—especially if the maker is no longer active.

I’m not saying Opendime is compromised. I simply want everyone collecting my art to stay informed and think carefully before moving funds.

Also, please be very careful over the coming days. Situations like this often attract phishing. Don’t click links from DMs, emails, social media, or fake support accounts claiming you need to “secure” your coins. If you’re unsure, ask publicly here on BitcoinTalk instead of trusting random messages or clicking unknown links.

I’ll also try to reach collectors directly through PMs, because I don’t want anyone to miss this information.

Your safety is more important to me than anything else.
