What amaze me is how the heck this illegal exchange and betting platform get a huge fund like that to wash those dirty money? Afaik, this scheme requires a good fund stream from legit user in able to do that and I don’t know where the heck they can get a huge volume for unlicensed casino and exchange.

Or am I missing something here with how they operate to wash their money. Many casino struggles a lot to get customers especially unlicensed casino.

They don't need to have no funds. Imagine a casino that literally has no money, except those needed for operating. Someone who wants to launder their 100 million plays there, losing 10 million in the process and then withdrawing 90 million of clean money.

~
You have a point, but it's worth noting that last time I checked, most AML tools were identifying gambling-related funds [even the licensed ones] as either a dangerous or a suspicious source of funds and a lot of platforms have started using such tools to flag such funds or transactions automatically [sooner or later, they have to look for another route].

If you are talking about millions, that would be the right thing to do, but I don't think it's working like that in all countries. Even in AML organizations some officials take bribes and turn a blind eye on things that should have been investigated. And easier for them to say, "We carried out an investigation and found out that this guy has money because he won it in casino" than "We don't know where he got the money for buying a Lambo, we just decided to not investigate".

Holy shit, this war even dips into gambling! Its one thing to take out their power and gas sources their two main sources of earnings id wager but its a lot harder to track down a plethora of crypto gambling sites. It can happen but it'll be slower. You're right about the cat and mouse games

This means that those who wage war have practically evolved.
They have found alternative ways of making money, a bit like North Korea, if I'm not mistaken, hacks things to steal money.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I've read similar news.
Iran has decided to focus on gambling, crazy.

It's definitely crazy but if you are in a position where you are made to survive, you would definitely exhaust all the possible solutions in order to justify the means.

I mean, I wouldn't even blame Iran here for thinking this space as an opportunity to gain revenue. However, I wonder what would be the long-term impact on the rehabilitation of their country in the far (or near) future once everything settles down.

Four billion dollars is a lot of money. I saw that a portion, $125 million, was transferred directly to their central bank and the IRGC. But isn't gambling prohibited over there? Apparently, anything goes when it comes to evading sanctions, even violating their own rules.
We know how that country has been under pressure from the US for a very long time. But they’ve still managed to hold on and even develop their military capabilities. They’ve found ways to make money that are hard for their opponents to track or freeze. I guess the longer the tensions in the Middle East go on, the more other facts will come out in the media.

I agree with you. In fact, when you are in survival mode, you would choose all the paths no matter how dangerous or treacherous it might be. Iran is on that specific position of surviving. I wouldn't call them thriving but at least they are exhausting these remedies in order to survive and even fight for their country.

Yeah, possible. The worst case of war may lead them to anywhere like going beyond all morals. I am really afraid of recent hack on coldcard and I wish this kind of things should be continued in any means. But, nothing is in our hand except protecting our saving with all suggested procedures.

Unfortunately, war does nothing but bring misery and destruction to everyone, everyone.
Also because concentrating forces in war requires money, a lot of money.
I read that North Korean hackers do these things as well as taking the place of real people to work and take salaries to finance the state.
