I have been thinking about something for a while now and I was wondering as a crypto enthusiast we tend to focus more on profits, utility, values and so many more things the crypto space can offer, that we certainly try as much as possible to let me not say ignore the risk I think utilise would be much better. We utilise the risk to be insignificant, even if emotionally those risks can take a toll on us  we still keep on going. Perhaps I will call that that's determination of our endless desires which helps us stay immune to losses or risk. But still this is just a simple question if we all journey into this space with the beliefs that fiat currency has a lot of inflation, banks are slow in transactions, and stuff like that, and yet in the space we face high risks like exchange hacks with people losing their funds, scammers, influencers, fake wallets, fake news ,address poisoning, dust attacks, loss of seed phrases, tokens that DIP so bad that all those who invested in it when it was hyped lost their investment, identity theft, and so many more like I can keep listing and it wouldn't end because this stuff keeps getting advanced. So Yeah I know most of these risks are associated with fiat also, but it's not as common as it is in crypto. So I want to know with all the high risks in crypto what is it that is still driving the adoption? Because it seems to me that when it comes to these schemes no one is an exception, which means it can probably happen to anyone. So what do you think is really driving people into cryptocurrency Perhaps it's ability ot be a store of value or is it profit, but is the risk worth it?Don't get me wrong I am entirely in support of cryptocurrency evolution, but I just want to hear your thoughts. As for me I believe it's profits but it's still not easy to make the profit as there are losses along the way and to gain the knowledge is also demanding, so it has to be determination and goals What do you think folks......

There is so much risk associated with Fiat, yes you acknowledged it but you try to still down play it but that's not it, the risk associated with Fiat is huge and it doesn't only just affect your funds your safety, privacy is also a huge risk more in Fiat.
Bitcoin adoption is still soaring because you are protecting yourself from most risks you may encounter but that's not the case with Fiat.
With Bitcoin you protect yourself, most of this risk you mentioned are generally related with people who haven't done their due diligence and hasn't made security a priority.

Let's move away from risk and security, the reward the Bitcoin offers and all of the negative sides of Fiat that Bitcoin seems to patch up makes it a significant option to the traditional financial system.

There are many reasons why crypto adoption keeps growing, but I think the biggest one is decentralization.

Before crypto, almost everything was controlled by banks or the government. Your account could be monitored, restricted, or even frozen, so people didn’t really have full control over their own money.

When Bitcoin came, it gave people another option. You can send money without asking permission from a bank, and no single authority has full control over the network.

Basically, many of the things people hate about banks are the same reasons they became interested in Bitcoin.
For me, decentralization is still the main reason behind its adoption.

The real reason behind the adoption of Bitcoin is to have an alternative in financial economy and this will make us to be less dependent on the government controlled Fiat currency, anyone today interested in this will have to go through the learning process and understand all about bitcoin network, it's security measures and so on before starting, everything about our assets will be at our responsibility because we are expected to operate under a non-costodial storage and this is how we could achieve our targets of being under a decentralized network with Bitcoin.

Since you are generalizing this and just don’t focus on Bitcoin alone, it will be hard to address the entire situation.

And again, there is nothing without risk. In terms of cryptocurrency, if you are careful enough, you should be able to avoid some of the problems that you outlined here. Exchange hacking should not be a problem if people use exchanges only for trading and not for storing their coins with them.

If one follows the right procedures to download a wallet, they won’t fall into the wrong hands; it’s always advised for us to use the online official website and everything and not to trust blindly.

A dip is something that is common in the market; it’s not something that breaks unless you are expecting too much from the market. If not, when a market is volatile, a dip should not be seen as a weakness.

yet in the space we face high risks like exchange hacks with people losing their funds, scammers, influencers, fake wallets, fake news ,address poisoning, dust attacks, loss of seed phrases, tokens that DIP so bad that all those who invested in it when it was hyped lost their investment, identity theft, and so many more like I can keep listing and it wouldn't end because this stuff keeps getting advanced.

You’ve outlined some of the very particular risks that can be associated with cryptocurrency and they are indeed true, though selective in how they are applied because, Bitcoin isn’t a pump and dump currency as that’s a position for altcoins and tokens of it’s like. Not to mention, your cryptocurrency doesn’t belong in exchanges but, on wallets and if there ever come a time when it’s generally accepted, we wouldn’t have much use for exchanges other than to determine rates/value or purchasing power.

Then again, I’ll have to remind you or draw your consciousness to the fact that, many has seen Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in its like to be revolutionary, a step away from traditional finance systems where the fiat is centralized and manipulated by the government to suitb it’s needs and not that of the people they govern.

The real reason would always remain in what we find in the Bitcoin white paper, a p2p currency that requires no third party.

This pushes me to add, what’s the price of freedom? as that’s what Bitcoin represent. There isn’t a risk you wouldn’t indulge.

Ask yourself, which risk are you willing to take? Bank's counterparty risk? Or the responsibility of your own private key?

Many of the risks you mentioned here are not actually Bitcoin risks. These are actually custodial exchange risks. Sometimes there is also risk of scam project or your operational mistake.

If you practice self-custody, hardware wallet and manage your seed phrase properly, a large part of these risk will be reduced.
So before saying crypto is risky, try to understand the risk at which layer.

So what do you think is really driving people into cryptocurrency Perhaps it's ability ot be a store of value or is it profit
And at least I don't hodl Bitcoin just only for profit. Yes, profit is definitely a reason, but it is not the one and only reason. I want a monetary system where permission is not required. And even if you want, inflation cannot be increased at will.

Don't get me wrong I am entirely in support of cryptocurrency evolution, but I just want to hear your thoughts. As for me I believe it's profits but it's still not easy to make the profit as there are losses along the way and to gain the knowledge is also demanding, so it has to be determination and goals What do you think folks......
The truth is that crypto has done more good than harms. It has changed more lifes than damage, so just a single setback will not be able to ruin the idea for many. Every year we have alot of major setbacks, losses, scams and sometimes death cases but it won't be a good reason for crypto adoption to decline on a long term. While some are having a bad day or bad experience, a good number of people are out there sharing testimonies of how their crypto decisions were able to change their life for good. We aren't even talking of small scale changes because when you are lucky enough, your whole life could be changed in a short time. Something that we know might be little to impossible if we were working our regular jobs.

Initially: Regulatory arbitrage

Ultimately: Gambling (speculation)

Initially, Bitcoin (and then later, all crypto), has exactly one advantage: it made the illegal, legal. In other words, digital currencies were illegal when Bitcoin started, so the only architectures that survived were ones where the governance was split among a large group of legal entities. Bitcoin's unique addition to this architecture was Proof-of-Work, which made such a network resistant to 51% attacks.

Digital currencies became legal (and thus made decentralization unnecessary), but Bitcoin endured as a speculation instrument, which is what it is today.

I see more risk in fiat currency than crypto. In the case of fiat currency, bank failures, bank hacking, fraud and theft, robbery and privacy breaches are common. If I am not mistaken, you have probably lost more fiat currency than crypto by now.

Fraud and security risks are present in all areas. How much you can control the risk and how much resistance you can build against fraud is the main thing. If you are knowledgeable enough in crypto and can identify fraud, then crypto is safer than fiat. Still, I think the main goal of entering crypto is to make a profit, but this is not the only reason.

Regards Bitcoin, long term appreciation or protection against inflation. In early times, there were those who just looked for privacy and decentralization as an alternative to dealing inside the centralized financial system, but that was just theory and never took place for real.

Regards altcoins, solely speculation in an attempt to have profit as final goal. There are also those who aim acquiring experience as developers, launching their own coins and tokens.

In every cases, profit always remain as ultimate goal in a way or another.

So I want to know with all the high risks in crypto what is it that is still driving the adoption? Because it seems to me that when it comes to these schemes no one is an exception, which means it can probably happen to anyone. So what do you think is really driving people into cryptocurrency Perhaps it's ability ot be a store of value or is it profit, but is the risk worth it?

Notice this: when people buy lottery tickets, they know that out of hundreds of participants, only one person will win the jackpot, and yet people take that risk and constantly buy lottery tickets. People know that if they put $100 in the bank to earn interest annually, they will get a maximum of less than 15%, and considering that amount, it's low for the long time they leave the money there. And then news like this appears:

12 Bitcoin Success Stories: Meet Bitcoin Millionaires

source: https://www.cointree.com/learn/bitcoin-success-stories/

Anyone who reads these 12 success stories will think: "I have to invest too..." They'll research how to buy and hold it. They won't bother researching scam cases or hacker cases, no. That's because in their minds, it's just a matter of buying Bitcoin on a secure exchange and keeping it in their wallet. Some will even research how to keep their coins safe. Everyone wants a peaceful life, to know that they'll have food to eat the next day, and the sooner they have that, the better.

So what do you think is really driving people into cryptocurrency Perhaps it's ability ot be a store of value or is it profit, but is the risk worth it?
Out of the many questions you asked, I think answering this literally provides answers to the rest.

Fiat has been in existence for centuries, crypto came as a technology with so much improvement to traditional finance. To know Bitcoin(the first successful crypto project ) is to know a technology that significantly improves your financial life from what fiat offers.

Of course it came with risks just like every new technology but it's benefits outweighs the risks, that's why you are seeing the widespread adoption despite several reports of discouraging losses.

To the risks, they can be perfectly managed. Satoshi gave us the most secured measures to always stay on the safe side. The moment you understand wallets, backups and self-custody, you become less concerned of the risks as they'll become more manageable while you still enjoy freedom and full control over your money. The more people understand these things the more they adopt Bitcoin.

Bitcoin gives people security, freedom, decentralized gateway, speed of transaction, anonymity, etc. The fact that all of what you have listed are problems that some people have encountered doesn't change the properties of what Bitcoin is, that's to tell you that adoption will still continue to grow because the purpose, value and character of Bitcoin has not changed at all.

Ask your self, why do people still keep using their fiat currency even though inflation is greatly affecting its purchasing power  and reducing the value? People lose their fiat money to some scammers as well and don't get it back but yet people have not stop using money, so the theft or hack problems that Bitcoiners experience is a problem that changed Bitcoin from being what it was made to be, that's why people will keep adopting it.

So, if people are to stop adopting Bitcoin, what do they go back to? Still the fiat system that has too many ups and downs as well.  Remember that some people lost their coins to exchange hacks because they failed to listen to the advice of "not your key, not your coin".

First, you should improve on your writing skills. Having all ideas packed like this without paragraphs makes reading such posts uninteresting or tiring. Your post will look more beautiful and captivating if you use paragraphs to break down your ideas.

The reason for adopting crypto is different from person to person. I am going to talk about myself and bitcoin in particular.

One major reason I and many other people who are into Bitcoin today are adopting it is because of bitcoin's ability to retain value. It is not really about decentralization as many would claim, because if truly they are being honest, they will not all be using exchanges and other centralized platforms for transactions and storing of their bitcoins. Bitcoin has given many an investment opportunity, a savings plan  and a tool against inflation. The risks is worth it.

Another reason is on borderless transfers of large sums. Using bitcoin for such large transfers is easier than doing so with fiat. If you check here again, the risks is still worth it.

Privacy is still another thing we cannot get with fiat. Bitcoin is the the first currency that comes to the mind of someone who wants to hide his true identity.

The only genuine concern on your list is hacks. The artificial intelligence era is bringing new threats to the industry. Some service providers have become so lazy that they assign security tasks to AI tools. Hackers are also using these tools to attack wallets and exchanges. Other challenges you mentioned can be easily overcome through knowledge and contentment. It is essential to be abreast with the current happenings in the crypto industry, and also don't be greedy. Most people who fall to scammers are because of ignorance and greed.

People are adopting crypto because it has more benefits than challenges.  By applying certain security tips,  you wouldn't be a victim of scams, hacks, or loss of funds. But fiat inflation is certain. If you don't keep your in an assets that is a hedge against inflation, it becomes worthless within a short period. The government or other institutions can freeze fiat, but one is safe keeping money in Bitcoin.

Crypto came with risks but did you compare the risks to that of traditional banking?

There's no financial system without risks, just that they come in different forms.

Bitcoin for instance came with many of the risks you listed but when you learn about Bitcoin security and get the full knowledge of it, you will end up reducing the risks while avoiding unnecessary third parties.

The scary part of crypto isn't the technology itself, it's usually the lack of knowledge of using it safely.

Once you learn about them, you start seeing beyond the risks and embrace the benefits.

It's the same in the real life, the other way.

We're all facing risk as long as there's the appreciation of the money that we put. Money in the banks are also getting hacked.

But the difference is that if it's our mistake and negligence, there's no refund to that error. Although in the banks, there's no guarantee for some cases and they will make the process even more difficult for refunds.

That is definitely right decentralized will not only be the unique reason why most people will decide to adopt Bitcoin. One very important factor that has made alot of person's of late to look the way of Bitcoin just as you have rightly put it, it's Bitcoin act against inflation and adding value to investors.

With the current inflation rate and the way that fiat currencies work most people has, realized that Bitcoin is the more safer place to keeping their funds. Because Bitcoin protects your funds from losing value on the long run unlike Fiat money.

Bitcoin today is a big business opportunity where people will invest in and make money. These days people are more profit oriented because of the times that we find ourselves, and investing in Bitcoin is one thing that guarantees profits.
