So I want to know with all the high risks in crypto what is it that is still driving the adoption?
We have different cryptocurrencies that exist, which of the crypto are you emphasizing on its adoption...secondly, if you're pointing at bitcoin, it's yet to be adopted worldwide..I want you to know that there's different between adoption and when something is having traffic..bitcoin have traffic but some countries have not accepted it..And another i want you to know is that, cryptocurrencies can be adopted to people who knows the important due to the privacy...so the major reason why people go into cryptocurrencies investment is due to, it have no third party..they're people who invest in cryptocurrency without expecting instant profit, so they believe on crypto..so i can't outline so many reasons why investors keeps adopting it.

It's good to consider the risks in investing in bitcoin so that we can be early informed and take caution and then stay conscious while we're riding in the space.
However, the acknowledgement about the risks in bitcoin doesn't mean that the risks in investment is basically or majorly on bitcoin as Op has listed. Gold, bonds, real estate and stocks do have their own risks too.
Perhaps the risks in bitcoin can be controlled and handled in as much as you've been aware and keeping principles and disciples so that you don't fall victim of loosing your privacy or security and you'll take control of your emotions and actions aren't driven by Fomo over short term market attributes.

That is definitely right decentralized will not only be the unique reason why most people will decide to adopt Bitcoin.

It's the reason Bitcoin got off the ground in the first place since digital currencies were illegal back then, and thus if there was any central entity to prosecute, it would have been shut down.

But today it's all legal, so that is no longer a factor. People use Bitcoin as an meme investment instrument that they think will become more popular (as a meme) and thus make them a profit when they sell it in the future.

Quote
One very important factor that has made alot of person's of late to look the way of Bitcoin just as you have rightly put it, it's Bitcoin act against inflation and adding value to investors.

With the current inflation rate and the way that fiat currencies work most people has, realized that Bitcoin is the more safer place to keeping their funds. Because Bitcoin protects your funds from losing value on the long run unlike Fiat money.

Bitcoin doesn't compete with sovereign currencies like USD since most people--except very poor people or those in developing countries--don't hold their savings in physical cash. For most Americans and inhabitants of major developed countries (and by far the most $$$ that goes into Bitcoin's market cap), Bitcoin competes with other investments like gold, stocks, bonds, and even prediction markets and sports betting to some extent.

I see more risk in fiat currency than crypto. In the case of fiat currency, bank failures, bank hacking, fraud and theft, robbery and privacy breaches are common. If I am not mistaken, you have probably lost more fiat currency than crypto by now.
To some this is true, while to others it's entirely strange to them. There are those who have witnessed more loss in crypto than they have in the fiat system since they came in contact with cryptocurrency. This is not because crypto is not secured enough but because they do not learn and pay attention to the security part of cryptocurrency.

While in their local bank account they might not have lost money because they are using a centralized system, which the bank handles their security for, and unless scammers get to them, their money will be intact, and in some cases, if some authorized attempt is made, the bank can restrict the account. I'm just trying to correct an impression here and not saying that fiat is in any way better than Bitcoin; some people are just too careless when it comes to handling their own security.

So Yeah I know most of these risks are associated with fiat also, but it's not as common as it is in crypto. So I want to know with all the high risks in crypto what is it that is still driving the adoption? Because it seems to me that when it comes to these schemes no one is an exception, which means it can probably happen to anyone. So what do you think is really driving people into cryptocurrency Perhaps it's ability ot be a store of value or is it profit, but is the risk worth it?Don't get me wrong I am entirely in support of cryptocurrency evolution, but I just want to hear your thoughts. As for me I believe it's profits but it's still not easy to make the profit as there are losses along the way and to gain the knowledge is also demanding, so it has to be determination and goals What do you think folks......
With the issue of ColdCard hack which happened few days ago and resulted to the lost of over 594 BTC from 500 wallets, it's obvious people will now start having double mind in the security of Bitcoin as an asset over a long period of time. And in a situation whereby this hack keeps occurring continuously, it will definitely lessen the morale of its investors, despite the fact that Bitcoin is not at fault, but rather wallets or exchanges that have custody of the money. And for this very reason, it is enough reason why people need to diversify their Bitcoin into different highly secure wallets. Because despite whatever happens to funds in Bitcoin wallet, it will definitely not stop bitcoin from existing in tough situations.

Fraud and security risks are present in all areas. How much you can control the risk and how much resistance you can build against fraud is the main thing. If you are knowledgeable enough in crypto and can identify fraud, then crypto is safer than fiat. Still, I think the main goal of entering crypto is to make a profit, but this is not the only reason.
I also see more risk in fiat currency than crypto because banks can be hacked or stolen, so it is clear that cryptocurrency i.e. Bitcoin acts as an alternative to a centralized financial system, even as a protection against long-term price increases and inflation. It is true that if fraud can be detected, crypto is safer than fiat.

Besides if we want to invest in crypto currency or Bitcoin, we must keep our investment safe and not be tempted by hackers with unusually high profits and everyone should store the wallet seed phrase safely, which will make it possible to manage the risk perfectly. Also if I'm not mistaken, Bitcoin is creating opportunities for big business and this currency is creating a decentralized gateway and even making it possible to pay for any product through this currency, maybe that is why Bitcoin is spreading, as a result of which many are now saving BTC with a long-term mindset.

How about we talk on the ability for it to be used an investment? I think that's the major reason why the growth and adoption have reached this particular height.

Its limited supply and decentralized nature have made it a store of value, and now the entire population is trying to get their hands on such valuable assets; even governments now use Bitcoin as a store of value, and major financial institutions too have also queued up in the massive adoption

I have been thinking about something for a while now and I was wondering as a crypto enthusiast we tend to focus more on profits, utility, values and so many more things the crypto space can offer, that we certainly try as much as possible to let me not say ignore the risk I think utilise would be much better. We utilise the risk to be insignificant, even if emotionally those risks can take a toll on us  we still keep on going. Perhaps I will call that that's determination of our endless desires which helps us stay immune to losses or risk. But still this is just a simple question if we all journey into this space with the beliefs that fiat currency has a lot of inflation, banks are slow in transactions, and stuff like that, and yet in the space we face high risks like exchange hacks with people losing their funds, scammers, influencers, fake wallets, fake news ,address poisoning, dust attacks, loss of seed phrases, tokens that DIP so bad that all those who invested in it when it was hyped lost their investment, identity theft, and so many more like I can keep listing and it wouldn't end because this stuff keeps getting advanced. Op, if you can see my post, next time try to space your post into paragraphs for easy readability. Your topic is good but so many people will scroll pass because of the cluster. Try decongest your post, format well with bullets where needed.

Speaking about reasons for adoption. Let me first state that there is no sector without risk. People lose money in every sector even in the bank. So, in crypto, that should not be a problem, we just need to be aware that the industry nature attracts scam.

When you look at your question wholistically, you'll see no other answer than "volatility". People want to make profits, but when you treat it distinctively, you'll see that people are into bitcoin not only because of gain but security, decentralization, privacy and more .

Firstly, op you need to know the base of cryptocurrencies and if you read the stories ( I call them stories because it happened over a decade ago) that lead to the creation of an alternative currency you will understand that it was out of the failure of fiat and its system that pushed for something different which goes against inflation over the years. Bitcoin is now profit driven by its new adopters but it has always been adopted based on the beliefs around it and its representation.

First, you should improve on your writing skills. Having all ideas packed like this without paragraphs makes reading such posts uninteresting or tiring. Your post will look more beautiful and captivating if you use paragraphs to break down your ideas.

The reason for adopting crypto is different from person to person. I am going to talk about myself and bitcoin in particular.

One major reason I and many other people who are into Bitcoin today are adopting it is because of bitcoin's ability to retain value. It is not really about decentralization as many would claim, because if truly they are being honest, they will not all be using exchanges and other centralized platforms for transactions and storing of their bitcoins. Bitcoin has given many an investment opportunity, a savings plan  and a tool against inflation. The risks is worth it.

Another reason is on borderless transfers of large sums. Using bitcoin for such large transfers is easier than doing so with fiat. If you check here again, the risks is still worth it.

Privacy is still another thing we cannot get with fiat. Bitcoin is the the first currency that comes to the mind of someone who wants to hide his true identity.
That is definitely right decentralized will not only be the unique reason why most people will decide to adopt Bitcoin.

Bitcoin today is a big business opportunity where people will invest in and make money. These days people are more profit oriented because of the times that we find ourselves, and investing in Bitcoin is one thing that guarantees profits.
With the way fiat is behaving, bitcoin will not only be global, it will be a household name. Not because of any other reason, but because it helps preserve value. Fiat is losing value by the day and people are looking for ways to protect themselves from fiat.

Right now, people are looking towards bitcoin for this very reason, this is enough to believe that in the future, bitcoin and other assets like gold will be people's hope in terms of value preservation. Although, bitcoin may be the common choice because it is easily accessible and affordable with no restrictions.

The answer to this question is different if you're talking about Bitcoin or talking about every other cryptocurrency. But in a more generic view, profit is a big part of it. If there was no chance of making profit from crypto, the demand wouldn't be so high, and therefore, the prices wouldn't be worth so much either.

However, aside from profit, what drives the adoption of cryptocurrency so much is the ease with which you can own a coin. Before cryptocurrency, you couldn't just own an asset or investment from the comfort of your home without the help of anybody or a middleman in the form of companies. But with crypto, you can just buy them straight to your own wallet that you control on your own.

With crypto, you don't need to fully understand the market before you buy. Unlike other financial instruments, you don't need to understand the whole market to own it. If you understand the basics and how it works, then you're good. This point has also led people who know nothing about crypto to buy and then lose it all. With crypto, you can buy with whatever amount you have. People who are not rich or middle class can also have an asset.

People use cryptocurrency for different needs. Most importantly, it is the profit that drives them towards cryptocurrency hodling, investing or trading. Only the technically expertise people praise the technology on which the development have been made. For the layman it is a way to make money. When he enters the market, what he watches is just the price chart. Later slowly through different sources he'll get to know about the risks. Some act wise and stay cautious. Most of the users learn through experience. As in the Op, there were more ways through which user funds gets trapped. Only through our responsible handling everything can be secured. Beyond all this, the market once mentioned as a source for dark web and illegal transactions have stabilized and started its real purpose of usage similar to fiat with assured growth in the long term. This keeps the adoption getting stronger with time.

Everything called investment has a risk to pay and we should not think that because Bitcoin is less risky than investing in altcoins then we should think that we don't have any risks to face when investing in Bitcoin. The newbies need to be aware that Bitcoin is very volatile and money can be lost when the price goes down at anytime.

We also have been seeing people gambling with their Bitcoin, trying to make profits while buying and selling immediately price goes up. The adoption of Bitcoin has been increasing as more investors pump their money into Bitcoin to buy and hold so that they can make money when the price goes up.
