What you're saying is very important. Having BTC on an exchange or platform is dangerous because it's ours, but at the same time, it's not. As the saying goes, "if they're not your keys, they're not your coins." There's nothing better than keeping our BTC safe in our own wallet, managing our private keys.

Hodling BTC is the best, as long as things are done correctly, such as tracking, buying regularly whenever possible, and maintaining discipline. That's why the DCA method is the best option because it already establishes a habit.
The advice of keeping your Bitcoin in an open-source non-custodial wallet might not be complete. The Coldcard hardware wallet hack is an example. We need to go further to constantly check the safety of these wallets by reading reviews by reputable Bitcoiners.

Those who want to make quick money from Bitcoin will be very disappointed by the market conditions. But for those who have a long-term goal, the bear season is the best time to keep accumulating.

Most probably it’s too hard to make money from Bitcoin unless you hold it quite a bit longer. Big investors may make money from the trading as well, but as a small investor, it’s hard without holding. When we look at the Bitcoin chart, then it’s pretty easy to realize at which point Bitcoin will give you profits.

So we should have enough patience if we want to invest in Bitcoin. Otherwise, if you become panicked, then you may not hold on longer. From my experience, I can’t see Bitcoin giving good profits in the short term. Also, we need to know when we should sell Bitcoin and until when we need to hold.
In reality, Bitcoin doesn't generate massive overnight profits; most investors who have succeeded did so by holding onto their Bitcoin for the long term. I have never seen anyone make huge gains from Bitcoin in just a short period. Ultimately, those who are patient enough to wait for returns are the winners, and I think it is a concept often summed up by the phrase "holders are winners".

When it comes to the patience required for Bitcoin investment; I think it is essential to use funds that you can truly afford to lock away for the long haul, or money that won't be touched until the investment becomes profitable. Therefore, the best approach is to invest money specifically earmarked for future savings. By the way, I consider saving in Bitcoin is superior; than keeping money in a bank, or an insurance plan, because Bitcoin doesn't come with the complex rules, or restrictive terms imposed by such institutions.

It might happen overnight, but this is something that will undoubtedly happen, so there are things we can do when it comes to investing in bitcoin, and one of those things is quantity. If you want to enjoy a good profit from bitcoin, you have to have a good quantity and be prepared to wait until the coin appreciates because that is when you will make profit because most people struggle with patience. very plane holders are winners actually because you dont wait you dont win.

and the way things are going, we have to be prepared to comprehend the reality. People's issue is that they don't want to wait, but the circumstances make it difficult for them to do so. For this reason, you need emergency funds while you're waiting, and once everything is in order, you won't be as concerned about wanting to sell because that's what drives people to sell in order to make a profit. and if it is about saving then it is better to save the money in bitcoin than saving it in fiat.

Absolutely. The case that happened with Coldcard should be a valuable lesson for all of us, especially if our goal is to store bitcoin for the long term. The most important thing to pay attention to is wallet security because if you make a mistake in storing your wallet losing your assets can be very painful, especially in large amounts.

So you need to have a strong mindset regarding wallet security by continuously following the principle 'Not your keys, not your coins,' which should remain a rule you rely on for long term goals, even for the short term. Storing in a non custodial wallet is indeed the right choice, but you still need to research on your own choose wallets that are community verified, and stay updated on the latest security reviews. DCA combined with disciplined HODLing is the most effective strategy, especially in a bear market and it’s really the most sensible approach we should take.

Yes it a lesson that proves that holding long enough in a wallet that's not very safe is a good as having nothing, for the case of the victims, it wasn't their fault cause they felt the wallet was safe since it's a self-custody wallet, although they were the scapegoat but it's made everyone also realise that a self-custody wallet with extra protection is better.
Atleast people would now see reasons why security is very important in Bitcoin holdingt, many who never cared to be enlightened would be force to learn how secure their coins and others who used a coldcard type wallet would migrate to a safer one.

Past performance does not guarantee future results. The BTC price bottom is higher at the current year mostly due to mass adoption among institutional investors and active HODLing by the crypto whales. I'm happy that the Bitcoin price is somewhat stable and it doesn't fall below sixty thousand dollars, but nothing is guaranteed and the price can still drop down to 50K, which won't be a bad thing(cheaper BTC to buy).
Safety depends of what you consider to be "losses". If the Bitcoin price stays in the current range, while the annual USD inflation is somewhere around 4-7% you are losing money. However, the BTC price might go back to 100K in the next 2 years and your losses might be compensated.
Recently, mass adoption by big institutes brought stability in bitcoin price, but still a few things are negative because with mass adoption, now small investors profits are reduced near the lowest level; they have nothing while big whales are enjoying good due to their huge investments and having enough stuff.
People who have the ability to keep bitcoin for the long term also have a good chance of taking profit, but still, it depends; due to recent activities, things are looking positive, and the price can stay around $60K to $63K. It's a good change; safety is always a problem because things have never been balanced due to the recent cold card issue. People are having more concerns about things that they were feeling good about. Hardware wallets were always a priority for many because they had good confidence that maybe things would be favorable, but they always needed to be cautious about their wallets.

Holding bitcoin for long term without falling on greed, doubt and panic selling, I can assure you that you'll be safe. But I can't guarantee that you won't be emotional along the way especially when the market is against with your actions and decisions. A lot of bitcoin investors are firm at the beginning but lost their real intention and focus in the long run because of emotions, so they end up losing their investment.
