I believe that trading is not like school, where you can graduate from it. Instead, it is more of a journey where you continuously learn and strive to improve and adapt to a dynamically moving market. Of course, you might already understand these things, but they have become common knowledge that needs to be grasped by every trader. However, even if you understand this, it will not guarantee that you will find it easier to make a profit in the market. The most important thing is your ability to implement that knowledge and remain capable of generating consistent profits from your trades.

The consistency part is one of the hardest parts that traders fail to keep up to and elongate more their time to reach profitably in the market sooner. When a trader faces losses due to some few bad trades, they get angry with the market and stop opening up their charts to learn from those mistakes. Coming to open your charts again can help you see potential opportunities again and also when you come across same past mistake trades, you can be able to analyse and see a way through it without making that mistake again. The market is a continuous process, only the weak ones leave in the process but the real ones learn and re-learn even as they get better and that’s the best way to stand an edge in the market.
When a trader has been able to find a working strategy that adapts to their style and time and understanding and can make good profit from this even after trying swing trading more than 5 times, they become qualified to be called a trading graduate or better still a professional trader, because I believe a professional trader is one that has more advanced IQ in trading that they can make profit from the market in almost any scenario.

But does a trading graduate really matters? Because as far as I know, regardless of your trading experiences that end up with various outcomes, no one still hit perfection in trading. No one still avoid losses 100%, and no one trades with overconfidence that never experiences lapses and failure at some point. That is why no one cares to be a trading graduate, because there will always be inevitable losses and market changes that will make you unprofitable in some of your trades.

Trading lessons are endless. Because every time you set yourself to trade, you always learn from those unexpected outcomes, whether they're profits or losses.

There is a YouTube trading expert I watched that blow his trading account worth a million because he made a mistake of not using stop loss. If you check his video tutorials on YouTube, he has been making videos for more than 8 years and this was not when he started trading. You can imagine the level of experience he must have had doing trading but one mistake cost him everything and this can happen to anyone you can think as long as they are trader.

Loss are unavoidable in trading, but they can be manage, your focus is on how you can maximize your profit and make sure you don't lose that trading. The exchange you use is very important as well, last year October 10 people lost money on many exchanges but some were not. Choose where you think the exchange care about the customers, not the one they will be running after their stop loss and making money off from their liquidation hunts.

Well considered myself as one who can able to surpass the red mark on my portfolio but I dont think of it as trading but maybe form of investment. When you just buy a share or fraction of token and hold it to the point that you can say its worth your money in the long run. Trading is a lot harder than being an investor who needs a lot of knowledge and familiarization on concept and application of trading.
Anyone can be a good investor and consider it as a graduate but I find it hard to believe that a certain trader can also be considered a graduate in trading. Trading can turn out as a traitor and left us with unexpected losses no matter how we perceive it a very positive trade at the start of trading. The market can suddenly change and surprise us with unexpected market twists, and that could lead to experience unavoidable losses in trading.

One thing also that losses with bitcoin turn inevitable because we immediately expect profits from bitcoin, when we can slowly invest on it and work on it consistently without rushing into trading and anticipate instant profits.

In trading, there's no such thing as stopping learning. It's actually the same as life, where we must continue to learn. If we stop learning, we'll fall behind others. There's always something new in the world, whether in business or anything else, so we must be able to adapt to it.

We can see professionals; they also continually learn about the market and other things to continuously improve their trading skills. And I also find professionals to be wiser; they don't even consider themselves experts. They understand that they can still experience losses, but they usually recover more quickly.
You are right, in trading learning never stops and we just keep learning new things each day and even if we are getting profitable in our analysis that  doesn’t still guarantee that we have the full knowledge. Nope we got to keep learning and experiencing new things each day and the more we push ourself into seeking more knowledge the more we we a lot of opportunities from the market and the more we get closer to our goals, knowledge is a huge importance to our trading journey.
The strategies used can also produce different results. Sometimes, they feel their trading strategy is excellent when they're making a profit, but after using the same strategy but incurring losses, they start to doubt their strategy. This is how the market moves. Sometimes it's not our strategy that's wrong, but rather the market's unpredictable direction.

This is where we need to have a backup plan. This means that when the market moves against our strategy, we need to know what to do. This is where knowledge and the application of basic principles like risk management and so on are crucial.

OK. Are you an actual trader? Are you posting that based on your own experience? Do you even believe that you are qualified to give such advice? Can you prove that you're qualified to give such advice?

  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

OR, are you, like me, a mere PLEB who can't actually out-trade the actual professional traders in the market?

I guess your question was meant to scare me or something?

NOT to scare you, ser. But show our fellow PLEBS the truth. I'm not saying it's definitely you, but truthfully there's always a non-zero probability.

Quote

I've been trading for years, and I can assure you that everything I post here on the forum comes from my own experience in the market. Proof? I'm not the type to brag about my trading journey, so I don't feel I have anything to prove to you or anyone else. But if you really want proof, I'm open to it.  Wink. When I read posts from other users on the forum, I can often tell who actually trades and who doesn't. Some people only post trading related post to fill their posting quota, but they aren't real traders. So to answer your question no, I'm not one of those guys who are like you a mere PLEB who can't, I'm not yet on the level I want in trading but I'm not a novice on the market..

The point, ser, is this - If you "trade", but you can't actually outperform a simply Bitcoin HODLing investment strategy, then why "trade"? You say that you're a profitable trader who could actually outperform Bitcoin in a long-term time horizon, and then prove to me that I'm wrong.

YOU CAN'T, and THAT, ser, is why our fellow PLEBS should NEVER listen to random "advice" in BitcoinTalk.

There's probably a farm in this forum that tries to control the narrative, AND get paid through signature campaigns.

I believe trading is a school with endless lessons. There is no graduation only the results of your trading show that you've gone through the challenges of the market and survived while others gave up. The market offers endless knowledge. As time goes by, you keep learning more but your success still depends on the kind of trader you are, the mindset you've developed over the years, and how well you manage your trades. You could be making six figures and still not consider yourself a graduate. That doesn't mean you're not a good trader. It simply means you understand that there is no limit to what you can learn from the market and over time you try to replicate your idea and knowledge of the market..
Yes, in the world of trading, we must be able to adapt well to everything every day. Personally, I believe trading is truly a psychological warfare. Everyone involved in trading watches market movements and the movements of other traders daily. It could actually be considered a habit, but in trading, habits can change because everyone's psychology changes. Therefore, when trading, we truly must be able to adapt well every day. That's why there's no such thing as passing or failing in the world of trading.

Essentially, when we trade, we're waging a psychological war with other people, and it's brutal. Therefore, for traders who are prepared to face this brutal situation, this is suitable for them. Because in trading, we can lose money at any time. So, in conclusion, those who can be said to be passing, not completely passing, are those who are able to profit. For example, there's a profit of 11 times and a loss of 10 times. However, risk management must be properly organized and followed.

Choose where you think the exchange care about the customers, not the one they will be running after their stop loss and making money off from their liquidation hunts.
Not using stop-loss is actually a very big mistake that most people always overlook, especially in futures trading, and it costs money to a lot of people because they believe their positions are never going to get liquidated, and this mostly happens because of overconfidence. When you open a position, and have at least a relatively large leverage, then you should always use stop-loss with it, because no matter how much knowledge or experience you have in trading or with this market, there is always a possibility that the market will surprise you, and then you can't do anything.

Last time, when Bitcoin crashed from $115k to $102k, more than $20b worth of positions were liquidated from the market. I also remember when people lost millions of dollars in that crash, and that is mostly because people don't use stop-loss with their trades because they don't expect such sudden crashes, but as I said, you never know, this market is highly unpredictable, and anything can happen at any given time.

So those who are into futures trading, it is essential that they use risk-management techniques seriously if they don't want to blow their accounts.

It is nothing like school because there is no class, no exams, and nothing to prove as certificates of finishing to become a graduate; it is something simple as long as you can place your trade and monitor the trade, your experience will keep growing to the extent that you will because a pro which can also be referred to as trading graduate.

Spoken well as with trading, you can't call yourself a graduate as you'll always be an undergraduate irrespective of how many times you have tested yourself in the market because you never know what the next trade will result to as you can do everything right but still not make profit from the market. Non of this is your fault because the market keeps changing every now and then that is why you have to keep learning the market often, if professional traders that have spent decades trading still get defeated by the market then you winning few trades back to back doesn't make you any graduates. All I can say is as you trade just keep learning and enjoying both the profits while learning from the losses as we keep on trading.

Honestly, for someone new to the market, it is pretty hard to apply psychology to trading. I have experienced this myself when I first started trading. I have had a few consecutive losses.

Trading with a small sum of money is something that helps me to stay calm when trading. OP said it is true, trading is not only about risk management but also about being smart about managing your finances.

It is not easy to graduate in a market that is very volatile, a market where your experience and skills cannot control the market, it is not easy to fully graduate in such a market, what you can do is try to maximize your profit and minimize your loses but becoming totally profitable is not easy. I've heard experienced traders who advice that we shouldn't take trading as a sole source of income because it is very risky and it goes to show that you cannot accurately predict the market everytime. I believe that traders would keep learning and relearning because the best technical analysts can get it wrong due to the volatile nature of the market.
