The Hundred Men's and Women's 100-Ball Cricket Competition

Two leagues are being play under the name of Hundred Men's and Hundred Women. 19th matches of Hundred Women are played and in 20 matches, London Spirit Women and Sunrises Women have played. The interesting thing about this is that the match will be played in 100 balls only and that is why this league got its name. The players of London Spirit Women have scored 136 runs in 100 balls.

Similarly, 19th matches have been played in the Hundred Men's League and soon the 20th match will be played between Sunrises and Spirit and this match will also have 100 balls. In the women's league, London Spirit Women was better than Spirit Women in the table, but in the men's league, Spirit is better and higher and there is a difference of 2 matches between them, as if Spirit may not let it end.

Similarly, 19th matches have been played in the Hundred Men's League and soon the 20th match will be played between Sunrises and Spirit and this match will also have 100 balls. In the women's league, London Spirit Women was better than Spirit Women in the table, but in the men's league, Spirit is better and higher and there is a difference of 2 matches between them, as if Spirit may not let it end.

The competition will be tough in the Men match because both teams are in good form and London Spirit Men cricket team have to give their best to win this match. Sunrisers Leeds M cricket is in good form and they made at that time 67 runs in 30 Balls and they can make 200 plus runs easily because they have good start and players are looking in good form. Mitchell Marsh is looking in excellent form because he made half century in this match and he made score with strike rate of 216 in this match. London Spirit took decision to bowl first but it could be wrong decision as opponent team is aggressive in this match.

Another notable thing about this league is, a bowler can bowl only 5 balls continuously and then another bowler will bowl from another end (and not 6 balls like all other cricket format). And there is no "over count" but only ball count (up to 100).

I guess, to keep their league to be unique, ECB got these type of things but I am not seeing any big innovation with the Hundred league.

But, there are lots of innovation in IPL, let me name few:
1. Qualifier/Eliminator.
2. All umpire decisions can be reviewed.
3. Impact player.
4. Strategic time-out.

London Spirit took decision to bowl first but it could be wrong decision as opponent team is aggressive in this match.

Yeah, London Spirit is on verge of losing their match against Sunrisers Leeds. Right now, London Spirit needs 64 runs from 12 balls which is almost impossible task of hitting at 400+ strike rate.

The performance of the first team in this match was really amazing. In this match, only two of their players were out and Ryan Rickelton and Mitchell Marsh, both of them were opening. One of them was out and he stayed until the last over. After that, two more players came and together they set a target of 241 runs in a hundred balls. Yes, this match was a hundred balls.

The second team also tried their best to chase their target in which six of their players were out. The sequence of their match was like this: the first two players who came were out in the beginning. The next two players held on for a little while in the match and after that, the next two players who came were out again. When the last two players played all the balls and the hundred balls were completed, they had scored only 204 runs. David Willey scored 83 runs but still they had to face failure by 37 runs and the highest score of this team was 94 and that was Ryan Rickelton.

When I saw the target, that was looking like a match of 300 balls as they made runs which people were not hoping because opponent team was looking not an easy team . That kind of match always made pressure on opponent team when you made highest total match And players have to made required runs to win this match which was a very difficulty task for that team. Many players of London Spirit (Men)  cricket team could not do well for the team and bowlers of that team gave more runs in this match. Dewald is not proper batsman because is not a match Winner and he want to play for himself and he gave nothing to his team in worst situation .

Especially Ryan Rickelton and Mitchell Marsh, both they delivered outstanding inning and had great communication between them. This inning really audience enjoyable. Ryan Rickelton perfect was mind blowing, he scored 94 runs in 42 balls and remained not out till end. So it was a brilliant total which was created by them in 100 balls match.

London Spirit (Men) team could not face these players and was unable to break the partnership. They gave too much runs and got less wickets and these were also late. So their bowling performance was not well. And since it was big milestone for chasing. So they lost 2 wickets early and then they caught in under pressure so this was not easy for chasing but David Willey tried his best and scored 83 runs in 46 balls. So they could score hardly 204 runs and lost the match very badly.

Sunrise Leeds Men performance in the 20th match of The Hundred Men Competition was excellent because all the batsmen supported each other and established discipline and presented an unachievable target of 241 runs to London Spirit Men.Apart from Dan Lawrence everyone from Sunrise Leeds Men scored half century plus runs.But if Dan Lawrence had been allowed to play more balls he would have also completed his half century. The surprising thing is that Sunrise Leeds Men lose only two wickets to achieve such a big target.Sunrise Leeds Men performance was under pressure on London Spirit due to which London Spirit Men will lose by a margin of 37 runs.If Sunrise Leeds Men continues to achieve success like this, then they will definitely get the first position on the points table.I will not call London Spirit performance poor either because this target was really unachievable.

I think more people are not watching the The Hundred Men's Competition 2026 . The matches are not interesting like IPL because IPL is top tier tournament which is generating a huge amount of money. Once Virat Kohli was angry about the match  when Umpire gave wrong decision due to which his team lost the match. After that IPL rules were changed because they saw that umpires are doing bad decisions And players can take review at any time. IPL is unique because all World top players are part of that league but Hundred league have no standard like IPL and there is not a big difference between T20 game and hundred balls but T10 league is good as comparison to 100 league.

I noticed that there has not been much activity in this topic and last post was made on 7th Aug, around 4 days ago. Looking at stats of both men’s and women’s contest, TR M have already confirmed their place in final battle on men side. They have completed all 8 matches with 6 victories. SRL M have also secured their place in eliminator match and now we have to see which of other remaining 3 squads will face SRL M in eliminator.

On women’s side, TR W have already qualified for final clash with 8 point while SRL w and SB w have secured their places in eliminator and regardless of other remaining regular matches.

Today men’s match among MSG m and SRL m is currently being played and 1st inning is almost complete with only 2 deliveries remaining and SRL m have managed to reach around 130 scores. In my opinion, none of their batters was able to play really important inning while lower order batters also gave very bad response which prevented squad from adding more scores to target.

This gives MSG m good opportunity to win the match and It is also good chance for them to win by huge margin and further improve their chances of reaching eliminator match. I hope MSG m can live up to my expectation. There is no doubt that MSG m have done their job very good with bowling. Total scores of 130 is not huge one to chase in 100 deliveries especially when they need almost 1.3 scores per delivery.
