I don't know if Bitcoin volatility will keep failing but one thing I'm sure of is that Bitcoin can not be like Gold because they are two different asset and they are not in same form. Bitcoin is digital while Gold is a tangible asset which means that Bitcoin can not be move or carried physically from one point to another but Gold can be moved from place to place physically which is why crisis often affect the value unlike Bitcoin.
Bitcoin and gold are different in nature, and that has nothing to do with their price volatility. Whether an asset is digital or physical, decentralized or centralized, its price and volatility are affected by supply and demand, capital flows, market sentiment, and macroeconomic factor. There are no exception. The larger the market cap and the higher the liquidity, the lower the volatility tends to be. This applies to all assets, and Bitcoin is no exception.

Bitcoin is becoming more stable in volatility, and price fluctuation, there were time when Bitcoin was dipping more than 60%-70% during bear market, but today because of the long term growth, demand, and institutional interest, volatility has reduced immensely making the asset more suitable, and profitable for institutional investors. However, the less volatile nature of Bitcoin has increased trust, and confidence among investors. In the past, some persons feared investing their money in Bitcoin, they said it can crash drastically in price , and make investors to incure huge losses in a very short period of time.

Stable in volatility how? If the price of Bitcoin becomes stable in it volatility this means that the price will not be fluctuating like the way it has been moving in the higher high and low and the lower low and high pattern. Bitcoin has to maintain it volatile nature for investors and traders to be making money from the market. If the price of Bitcoin becomes too stagnant like the way the price of stablecoins are stagnant, investors will not be able to make money from it differences in price and will chase away potential investors.

The more market cap that Bitcoin keeps getting will keep marking Bitcoin price become less volatile and much easier to predict but the price will have volatility always and not become stable. Bitcoin was not built like fiats and can not become stable because it has a fixed total supply but fiats currency do not have a fixed supply hence they can always print more money and make it stable. The rate at which Bitcoin used to pump and dump is decreasing and we can thank institutional investors for this because it was when they started investing into the market that Bitcoin price started being less volatile and it is because of big money being in the market that Bitcoin achieve this.

As the liquidity of Bitcoin strengthens and demand gets even with the supply, the volatility of Bitcoin will eventually lessen as time progresses. Market saturation is also one of the factor that will affect the Bitcoin volatility. The more saturated the market is the more it help to lessen the volatility of Bitcoin.
So I believe there will be a time where Bitcoin volatility will slowly lessen as Bitcoin's adoption matures and liquidity deepen.

We have seen that the current Bitcoin market conditions have also experienced a decrease in volatility. We do not see the high pump and dump movements that we used to see a few years ago. Likewise, with the decline in this bearish wave, the percentage of decrease in each period is always smaller. I think adoption by institutions also affects Bitcoin's price volatility. And if in the future there is more such adoption, it is not impossible that its impact on Bitcoin price volatility will also be more noticeable.

Nah. what I mean is, hasn't that already been happening? Bitcoin's volatility has been trending down from one cycle to the next, and that's become even more noticeable in recent years as the market has grown and liquidity has deepened. IIRC, BTC dropped around 85% in the 2015 bear market, 80% in 2018, and 77% in 2022. We don't have to wait for some point in the future to see Bitcoin become less volatile. It's already happening.

We can see that the volatility of the Bitcoin market is much less than before, in the past the market used to go into a recession and it did not stay there for a long time. But now we can see that when the market reaches a high and then falls, there is no recession for a long time, but it is regretted to move forward again. Currently, due to long-term growth and demand, various companies and large institutions have put a lot of faith in Bitcoin and they are making profits by investing here. As the days go by, the volatility of Bitcoin is decreasing and trust is being established among people, as a result, the demand for Bitcoin is increasing and its price is gradually moving forward. Many people used to make such comments in the past, but in the present time it is not like before, now when the market goes into a recession, it is fully recovered later. Those who invest in Bitcoin for the long term always benefit, so there is an indication that Bitcoin will be less volatile in the future.

Bitcoin was in the past not as adopted as now, with fewer people owing large amount of bitcoin. It was very easy then to dump bitcoin with one person selling a large sum of their holdings because of their lack of trust on the price trust of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has now gone past that stage and this will now allow for much volatility in the market like before again. Just like before, we still have insider trading that affects the price of bitcoin to dump or pump, but it is not as effective as they use to be in the past because of their wide adoption that has taken place already. Bitcoin has now become a more sustainable investment that one can invest into without having fear of losing their investment in the long term.

The main content is that, as time progresses, the popularity of Bitcoin will increase. Because people trust in Bitcoin will return continuously. One main reason for this is the inflation of fiat currencies. As a result, any individual will be driven towards investment and will choose Bitcoin as a credible option. We know that, Bitcoin dominance is now at its peak. Which is not possible for any other reliable currency. Previously, it was very common for the trust of Bitcoin holders to decrease. Because there wasn't as much hype as there is now, which helped maintain the balance of trust among holders. When there are significant changes in value over time, people mindset changes.

Bitcoin as we know is always volatile and can never reduce its volatility or become stable every after much adoption because, the volatility nature is what actually makes Bitcoin tradable asset out there. When I keep seeing people talking about stability of Bitcoin, it makes me think that they are gradually having that mindset that Bitcoin could turned to stable coin.

A chart similar to that of gold is possible in the future, but I'm of the opinion that we should be moving away from the comparisons to gold, bitcoin is not looking to replace it or be the digital version.
Of course, I don't think it's fair to compare Bitcoin's volatility directly with gold's. They are different assets, and they react differently to economic and geopolitical events. Over the years, there have been periods where gold has been more volatile than Bitcoin during times of global uncertainty. Bitcoin has historically been the more volatile asset overall. The good thing is that its volatility has gradually decreased as adoption has grown among individual investors, institutions, and even governments. No one knows exactly what will happen in the future. As all 21 million bitcoins are eventually mined and Bitcoin becomes even scarcer, we could see its volatility decrease further as more people choose to hold their coins for the long term. Or new factors could emerge that increase volatility again, only time will tell. As years keep passing by bitcoin market will become less volatile and somewhat have stability of price at least to some extent, comparing it with gold in future price and market stability I will say the comparison is right bitcoin will become more align with gold in terms of price stability and pushup for more clarity why bitcoin is sometimes call digital Gold. Bitcoin mainstream adoption as full alternative will make the price more stable and less volatile compared to past market where the market cap is a bit smaller and every little political event can easily have a reaction on bitcoin market.

Bitcoin volatility is not what differentiate Bitcoin from other assets in the cryptocurrency market or other markets because there are many other assets or tokens that are volatile and some are even more volatile than Bitcoin but what differentiate Bitcoin and make it to stand out is its Blockchain. Bitcoin is really decentralized which other assets do not have all the things Bitcoin has in it that makes it unique. Bitcoin has always been volatile and that is true but the volatility is not as high as it used to be many years ago and that can be observed in the gap between the all time high of the market and the bottom is shrinking slowly and this can be noticed in most recent market cycles.

When people say Bitcoin will become more stable, they mean its price swings will gradually get smaller over time. They don't mean its price will be fixed like a stablecoin. And that's already happening. Bitcoin's volatility has been trending down as the market matures and adoption grows. Other than fiat pegged stablecoins, what other assets are actually stable? Can you name one? So volatility isn't what sets Bitcoin apart from other assets. It's Bitcoin's decentralized nature that sets it apart from the rest.
