As it's my first time, I have some daft questions:
1 - The bonus pick is more of a fun extra rather than something that can be a deciding factor, am I right? The total you can get from it is max 20 points, while you can get more than that in a single matchday (and there are 34 of them)
2 - Betting on underdogs is not a wise strategy, is it? Unlike in money-betting, you don't get any more points, so it makes more sense to go with the more probable option.
Is that about right?

1. however, the bonus points can be decisive at the end of the season, and they are only awarded once the event has taken place (usually at the end of the season, except for the question about the coach’s firing – for that, the 4 points for the correct answer are usually awarded within the first 10 matchdays)
2. the only bonus questions that might have the widest variety of answers are those asking which clubs will finish in the bottom 3 spots (16–18) and which club will be the first to fire its coach.
all other questions can be answered with 'werder bremen'

First time using kicktip and Im actually impressed with the site, they provided the odds of the game as well. I think Im good to go for the 1st round, submitted my prediction as well as the bonus question.

I wanna request one small thing though. Could we add another icon on the thread title aside from just ball? Its kinda hard to differentiate the thread as most of the thread around here has the ball icon as well

I like that it's different from regular SuperBRU, with it's own system rewarding close results differently, but the last thing you want to pay attention to or consider is the odds provided, it's very misleading, and actually I don't know if it's is being generated from their own end by the percentage of players prediction (it's got to be), because it is ridiculously different from what any sportsbooks odds are offering at anytime. I often fall for it whenever I don't have much time to check or follow teams and just tossing in my picks in like last season, it gives you the impression of a possible one sided game when in reality the matches are quite closer, I just kept using a lot of 3-0 and 3-1, where I would gone with smaller margin, if I wasn't in a hurry to get it over with.

I have been using Kicktipp app since start of the last season and honestly I have never looked at the odds it provides. Now that you mentioned it, they look ridiculous. It's always better to do my own research, but often luck plays an important part. For example, in the last season I was constantly in the middle of the table and then in one round I got every single match right which propelled me to the first place. I think that someone calculated the combined odds on the correct outcome of the games would be 200 or something like that.

Thanks cygan as always for the reminder, i was aware anyways im just lazy to do the picks so much time before.

I was filling the extra points/bonus which kitcktip offers and is incredible how Bayer Munich with their dominancy destroy some of it, because they force us to put them in two of the questions or 3, which is not so good for the variance. We also suffer them in my contest since they score like crazy and everyone picks them.

Holy I didnt even bother to check the odds at all. It never cross my mind that a site would provide such misleading odds. I mean yeah some sites have different odds but this is a whole level of misleading for sure.

I guess its my own fault that I didnt spot this weird stuff at first glance because Im not familiar with Bundesliga games' odds aside from Bayern Munich's odds

Nah dont worry about it if you cant find anything suitable. Its just my usual habit that I love to scroll on the board so it just helps me to differentiate those thread that I normally participated in the discussion.

yes, you can place your picks on each game right before kickoff, and you don't always have to predict the entire matchday (9 games) before the first game starts.

If I'm not mistaken, a couple of seasons ago they used odds from one of the bookmakers, apparently the one who advertised with them, since if you clicked on the odds, you were redirected to this bookmaker. Now, it seems this is either an average player rating or a proprietary algorithm. I noticed this last year because some games were rated completely abnormally (like 1.1 instead of 2.0).
Is Bayern an easy bet today? Last season, they averaged 3.5 goals per game

Here we go. The opening game is behind us.



Diaz couldn't just stop himself from ruining my 4-1 prediction.
Still, I'm surprised I was that close. I thought the first game of the season could be hard for Bayern, but it looks like they are still in as good of a shape as they were in the last season.

After the first game, we have a lone leader. Well done to xLays for predicting the correct goal difference. Looks like none of us had any faith in Stuttgart stealing at least a point.
