I stumbled up on this: https://blog.cloudflare.com/wallets

In short, they're launching a programmable wallet (only supported stablecoins) that syncs with an AI agent that can autonomously spend funds to pay for online services. They haven't explained much about security management, key backup, recovery mechanisms, etc. For now, you have to use an email address to create an account.

This wallet, among other things, features readable handle names, which is currently claimable. If you're a collector or believe a particular name might be worth selling someday, I recommend signing up with a dedicated email address.

Truly interesting, but somehow to early to tell if this wallet is good or not. Maybe better for them to give clear details about those matters you write here.

Because people could determine if they are really good project to use or just the same with other project promising innovative and yet act the same with traditional ones. But I like the idea about automating things by help of Ai, so let see how this plans continue if they are going to succeed on this.

But as what you have said, I agree about for using separate email(dummy email) then use it for now on experimental matters just to know about how their platform works, and also better don't store huge funds to avoid problems.

Several cases of financial service exploitation that integrate automation agents lately have indeed made me skeptical. Considering how I registered, I wasn't planning to use it, just to own it. Besides, I had already reserved a name that I thought was quite premium. I hope this will work like an ENS that can be sold someday, hahaa.

I believe this will have solid use case, I can imagine an AI agent that can do payment and subscriptions on its own. It will also be useful for website to monetize their content that AI frequently use for research and RAGs, currently websites are suffering lower revenue because their contents are being summarized by Google's AI and others, by monetizing their contents and put a paywall before AI can access, maybe they can increase revenue.

Although even without Cloudflare wallets we can already use x402 with our own self custody wallet but since the wallet and the handle coming from giant company like Cloudflare, it could help for a more widespread adoption.

What remains of the concept of the crypto wallet? The wallet needs an email address, readable account names, and its complete control will inevitably be centralized. It is anything far from the crypto wallet.

Cloudflare is centralized, so I wouldn't trust anything in it. Remember what happened some time ago? When Cloudflare suffered a DDOS attack, almost the whole Internet went down. Especially when most sites made use of its DNS services.

And AI agents controlling crypto wallets? It would bring many undesired risks. I mean, the benefits of automation are good. But we've seen how dangerous AI agents can be when put into the wrong hands (like the Coldcard incident). Perhaps, businesses and companies will make heavy use of this new kind of "programmable wallet". The rest will continue to use either exchange-based wallets, or non-custodial ones. At least, we have another major company on-board the crypto craze. Who knows which one will be next?

It's interesting x402 has been out over a year and hasn't really been mentioned here on the forums at all.
I've done 2 website for clients with x402 and MCP integrations with 0 paying customers that weren't on a base eip testnet .
They have non-custodial base wallets you agent can use but the dev setting up x402 has to kyc on CDP.
I personally think x402 is the right way to paywall in the coming years.

I will give you guys a fair warning though , x402 is some of the hardest shit Ive implemented. With very little reward aside from claiming rights. (Résumé)  Coinbase offers no support for it and it's creator has already left Coinbase.

Clouldflare on the other hand have been very responsive to any and just about all my inquiries in regards to just about everything, coinbase lacked a client side onboarding for retail users , clouldflares providing that and I think that's very strange.

I guess they believe it offers little to no benefit for them? Maybe Cloudflare see a different usage and believe making it easier to onboard user would be key for the future. Just like how they managed to become probably the first name mentioned when people talk about DDOS protection.
