I personally track both. But don't put both in same category.

If you lose $1000 and get $150 rakeback then your net loss according to cashflow must be $850. Because that $150 actually came back to you. But I don't see it as part of gambling performance. Instead write it separately as Promotion or Rakeback.

This is because if my main betting strategy is consistently losing then rakeback can mask that poor performance. Today I may receive $150 rakeback but tomorrow VIP program could change, promotion could be reduced or I might not qualify anymore.

But there is a nuance here. OP's question isn't entirely unreasonable either.
He probably wants to know if those who track gambling performance only look at the outcome of bets or do they also factor in rewards.

From cash accounting point of view, yeah, you are right, how decreased your wallet/bankroll, it can be found by calculating Net loss.

Loses is lose and what ever you spent gambling is worth taking note of because if you lose the rakeback can't actually make your balance to be as the total net lose.
However, I wouldn't include the rakeback instead what I lost is just that specific amount.

This is very funny, of course people prefer to say they lose that $1000 and not deducting the rakeback amount, and this makes the $150 silent. For me I don't check my history neither do I track record, I am just aware that I have lost the amount I deposited and luckily won back some peanut back as bankroll for the next gambling section and nothing more.

The money I deposited and lose plus the rackback will counts as my total loss for that month as long as it was possible for me to have withdrawn that bonus but I refused and ended up losing it, it will be added to my total loss. This is just similar to if you deposit $100 for example and you won $400 but because of greed, you lose all that money, you won't count your loss as to be just the initial amount you deposited but you would say you have lost $500 because already you won $400 but lost it again because you didn't withdraw.  If the rackback is withdrawal, it's my money and I will include it in my result.

Rakeback comes with terms and conditions. Most rakeback cannot be withdrawn instantly. To turn a rakeback into cash in your wallet, some casinos require you to play eligible games or wager the amount.
