Honestly speaking there are many things that makes many people turn into Gambling addict and it involves some which you have listed here which could be high cost of living which is characterized by inflation, poverty. High level of unemployment rate etc. when the economy is not good but bad, it attract a lot of things that leads the masses to do some abnormal things. to be frank I do not see any changes in gambling because the same percentage and ratios they are isolate what they are Still using till date, can say that the possibility and probability is like 1/0 where people are not really sure of what they would gain from their next bet or their previous bet. Going back in time would not change that because the problem of addiction has always existed, and what has changed is only the scale, the intensity....

I don't know where you are from but there are always jobs out there in most cities. They may not be the job you want, but there is opportunity to make money while you still try to find a job that you want. The issue is people are fucking lazy these days!!! They have an excuse for damn near everything and would rather let someone else take care of them vs putting in effort in life.
