I was most surprised by seeing characteristics of  waste workers. Without their honesty, this €1 million ticket would probably have been worthless.

Oh my god- to be honest I didn't expect this kind of ending! For sure, I thought that the workers would bag the ticket for themselves but it turned into something so wholesome to the point that this restored some faith to the goodness of this world.

I sure hope that this person tipped the whole workers for their effort. Like more than just covering for the search cost, I hope he provided something at least monetary to the whole team not just for the search but for the honesty they have dedicated for this.

It is rare for you to discover someone who find a lost item and returning it back to the rightful owner even when they know where to locate such, but I'm only glad that everything later got back and fully recovered by the winner, even though it took the highest risk of it all, but I'm also excited to see that he was able to give some token in appreciation today to the bin cleaner, and everything ended well like a forktale story.

For me, the key question is the reward for the person who found and returned that lottery ticket! If the owner of the lottery ticket just "shakes hands" with them, that would be a very petty thing to do...

I honestly never considered that winning a lottery like that would require verification. In theory, someone who finds a ticket worth millions might be tempted to keep it. So, does the finder have no chance of claiming the ticket as their own, even if the original owner has forgotten about it?

So many lessons to learn in this incident. The winner is a lucky guy but I hope he doesn't get blinded by that winning and abandoned these people that helped him recover the ticket when he finally gets paid. Talking about giving up easily, I once experienced something similar to this. I played a bet on few teams to score ov2.5 goals in a single ticket. All games already played my option except one. The last time I checked, they were playing 1-0 on extra time with just few minutes to end the game. I hissed and close the betting app on my phone. If it were a printed ticket from offline shops, I would have discarded it because I had already given up and assumed I already lost it only to wake up in the morning and discovered the game had been won. Don't give up until the very end, they kept searching and they found it, I hope the person who found it gets a very good tip because the winner's luck could have gone to total waste.

Now the money isn't the winners alone, there is indeed some good lessons to learn from this story, they were meant to get to know eachother that day, a waste worker and a lucky human, what a story.

Yes, the person that found the ticket will be compensated. I do not know the reason some people like to throw away tickets, there have been many news like this that I have read about. Or they are making up to story for people to believe? But congrats to them that won such huge amount of money.
