Hi,

When using Localcoinswap and there is a offer that is not in your location/currency. Are you still able to buy that offer? What are the differences or the country/currency doesn’t really matter?

For example the offer requires payment with: Revolut (United States) but I’m not from the United States are you still able to buy this offer? Any downsides or the country doesn’t matter?

You can use the offer, it is simply referring to the payment method that will be used. So in this case, you'd use a US Revolut account to pay.

I understand though I have an Revolut account but not from the United States. So if I have Revolut and from Europe or any other country besides the United States can I still select that offer and pay? Is everything still the same? Or is there downsides to this?

I don't think so. Usually the seller who is posting the offer would have a US Revolut account and would expect payments to be made by another person with this type of account to make things easier.

When in doubt, it's best to message the seller before trading and ask him if he will accept EU Revolut or similar.

I haven't used P2P a lot since Localbitcoins but I still use Binance (or rather I get the contacts from there).

The currency option matters only when using bank or local payment. But definitely you can buy/sell other currencies if you use a multi-currency payment like PayPal (I've done it with EUR and SGD) and that currency is allowed.

My experience is USD is the most problematic, but always chat with the trader first and explain, they will tell you if its possible or not.

If you have a Revolut account registered in your name and also accepting the same currency as your counterparty's, then it's OK. The biggest problem usually is converting that USD to the local fiat currency in your country of residence

It's not as easy as it seems. I tried doing arbitrage trading sometime back and met lots of hiccups regarding this.

Currency and country both matter, but it doesn’t matter where you currently live. For example, I am living outside the USA, but I have received USD in my account. It depends on the seller's condition. If the seller offers USD for USA bank accounts, then you have to provide one and must use a USA USD bank account. Proving USD from another country’s account won’t make a successful transaction.

Remember there are many virtual banks that provide accounts from various countries. The account you are holding now, then you have to look for the same currency seller, and the country of the bank should be the same. Read the seller's condition carefully and talk with them through chat. There is also SWIFT service that could make an international transaction, but the charge may be high.
