many years now, it has been the US dollar controlling international trade and the global finance. But these days, more countries have started looking for ways to reduce how they depend on dollar by using there own currency to trade. this development happening now is what they call de-dollarization, this has caused discussion concerning the future of the world economy. Bitcoin is totally different from flat currency of different countries because no government or authority have control over it. the supply can't be more than 21 million coins, and nobody can print more Bitcoin. this are one of the reasons why people says if trust for fiat currency continues failing, Bitcoin can become a neutral global asset that everybody can use without any government or country controlling it. However, there's still a problem because Bitcoin price is still highly volatile in nature, no clear government regulations concerning Bitcoin in different countries and Gold and CBDCs are still competing with Bitcoin. what are your thoughts: 1. do you think de-dollarization will make more people and country adopt Bitcoin? 2. what do you think is the biggest thing stopping Bitcoin from playing a bigger role in the global economy?

However, there's still a problem because Bitcoin price is still highly volatile in nature, no clear government regulations concerning Bitcoin in different countries and Gold and CBDCs are still competing with Bitcoin. Gold is not also stable like fiat that is volatile but people thinking it is not but shown that in long term after high devaluation of the fiat. 1. do you think de-dollarization will make more people and country adopt Bitcoin?
Nobody can know this. If the government are buying bitcoin and ditching United States dollar, definitely that is a big adoption for bitcoin. But what if the government do not go for bitcoin. I think some governments will go for bitcoin. If they do not go for bitcoin, bitcoin adoption will still continue. 2. what do you think is the biggest thing stopping Bitcoin from playing a bigger role in the global economy?
Bitcoin is playing a bigger role, but many people do not know already. But if you mean in international trades? Definitely the governments.

what are your thoughts: 1. do you think de-dollarization will make more people and country adopt Bitcoin? I don’t think dedollarization will push people into adopting more Bitcoin unless that has always been their will; they will seek other options, and promoting their own local currency in the international market is one of the options, and aside from the dollar, the world is gradually shifting into using other pairs that are different and not backed by the USD. Countries know the value of Bitcoin; they are too afraid to fully embrace it, and it’s mostly common and used by those countries when they want to bypass sanctions but not as an official trade symbol. 2. what do you think is the biggest thing stopping Bitcoin from playing a bigger role in the global economy?
What role do you expect it to play? It’s already doing its part, but not just in the way many are expecting it to be shaping the economy, and I’m among the few who don’t want to see Bitcoin usage face stricter regulations, which is exactly what we will get if there is ever any move to make Bitcoin a global trade currency in replacement for USD. As long as anyone is allowed to conduct a trade wherever they want without being stopped, I think we should be cool with that and not be seeking bitcoin to control a large portion of the world economy.

Don't think so, as we have seen countries, which push for de-dollarization are trying to promote their currencies. Countries peg their sovereignty to their currency even so when their own people trust more in the $ than i their won currency. That trust was taken care of by circle and tether. Among some other.

Bro, de-dollarization does not automatically mean bitcoinization haha. I mean, they need a reason to turn to Bitcoin. You mentioned that volatility is one reason they might not, but in some deals, countries have preferred BTC. Their situations were not good, so the world did not see it as a positive development, but we Bitcoiners did because it gave the sender and receiver a free hand, like in the recent case when Iran said they would charge passage through the Strait of Hormuz in Bitcoin because before that, the US seized their USDT, and even after that incident, Tether helped the US in seizing many more funds. A country would never turn to BTC after moving away from the dollar because they want their own local currency to be used for the next deals, or gold.

De-dollarization do not really mean that countries will move away from using the United States dollar for international trades but they will only diversify to alternative currencies. Bitcoin is not in the same category with fiats, so i don't think that de-dollarization will lead people to consider using bitcoin in the international market. What has hindered bitcoin from playing a bigger role is just adoption, if more people adopt Bitcoin and use it as day-to-day medium of performing transactions then of course, it will become a global economic reserve.

Even if there’s De-Dollarization, countries like China will push for a their fiat for the trade just as we’ve seen amongst some BRICS countries that pay for trade in Chinese yuan because De-Dollarization doesn’t even necessarily mean that international trade would be done with decentralized cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. For the second question in the OP, I think what’s stopping Bitcoin from playing a big role in global economy is the government, they can’t afford to lose the control of the monetary system and its policies which is what bitcoin will strip them of completely.

"Controlling" international trade is one way to put it, but another way is "the most convenient global currency" because it had large enough circulation that it could also be used as a secondary currency that offered stability in many countries. That is still true now to an extent and the circulation of the paper currency is still favored by many people out there who might suffer from huge inflation (or deflation) in their own currencies. Regardless of what we might wish, Bitcoin does not serve a purpose as a global currency because it cannot handle the amount of transactions happening each day that payment processing networks handle with ease and at a fixed price. Bitcoin does serve an important but niche market that is above the small scale transactions happening every day, when you start talking about hundreds of dollars instead of a few dollars spent at a corner shop.

This is the point that instantly came up in my mind. I think OP is confusing de-dollarization with de-fiatization. The talk about de-dedollarization is usually referring to the fact that the dollar loses power in the global financial economy. It is exactly as WillyAp says, the dollar losing power in the grand scheme of global financial markets only means that its role will be taken over or contested by other currencies or currency unions. There won't be a vacuum left behind. But there will be an effect that could motivate dollar users or receivers or holders to shift some of that currency into bitcoin. If there is less foreign demand for dollars, it would usually be followed by dollar depreciation and if that happens, you get less for your dollars especially when it comes to imported goods. It's not automatically leading to higher inflation because the US does export a lot and US goods could become more affordable, hence more could be sold and counter the inflationary effect. But if inflation rises, it is the same as today, you are better off buying some bitcoin.

Are you referring to the BRICS here? Last time I read something about BRICS was not positive, even the countries in that is not doing trades in one of their fiat and they still rely on USD for the oil and many other things so dedollarization is still far from reality.
But if that ever becomes reality, then bitcoin can be one of the choice, it is even the best one as such gold but governments won't be supporting something as a trade currency when no country have the control over it, they are symbiotic when it comes to suppressing the common people from having complete freedom over finance.

what are your thoughts: 1. do you think de-dollarization will make more people and country adopt Bitcoin?
Countries like China, Russia and Iran are already trying to trade with alternative currencies to the dollar, but we don't see any real use yet. Iran has already set an example by trading internationally with Bitcoin after the dollar embargo on Iran. Maybe some other countries can adopt this strategy in a critical moment. However, I don't think that Bitcoin will be an alternative to the dollar or that de-dollarization will have a big impact on Bitcoin. No matter what government, they like to control the economy, so they won't introduce anything that can reduce their control. 2. what do you think is the biggest thing stopping Bitcoin from playing a bigger role in the global economy?
The biggest obstacle to Bitcoin playing a bigger role in the global economy is government control efforts and the lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin at the grassroots level. Just as an illiterate person knows how valuable gold is and how and for what purposes gold is used, when Bitcoin reaches this stage, Bitcoin will play an even bigger role in the global economy.

As Bitcoin adoption grows, these fluctuations may subside. Moreover, there’s a fact that actually gives us reason to remain optimistic about holding onto Bitcoin for much longer and also makes us believe that Bitcoin is truly still a promising asset whose value could multiply many times over. The fact I’ve observed is that Bitcoin’s current adoption rate is only 1.3%–5% of the world’s total population. (Sourch: https://www.bleap.finance/en-us/blog/how-many-people-own-bitcoin)In fact, according to other sources based on on-chain data and exchange accounts, which directly track Bitcoin holdings based on digital wallet activity, only about 1.29% of the global population currently holds Bitcoin. (Sourch: https://www.oobit.com/blog/how-many-people-in-the-world-own-bitcoin)Although, in my opinion, de-dollarization won’t be the main reason people start adopting Bitcoin, it will indeed be one of the triggers for the decline in people’s trust in the dollar and even other currencies. And yes, some will eventually come to trust Bitcoin more, and adoption could also increase gradually because of this. After all, it can be said that currently, the adoption rate of Bitcoin is still in its early stages, as is its usage. So, there’s still huge potential ahead. That’s why people are still consistently practicing DCA with Bitcoin for the long term.
