I would like to note here that this topic is not for comparing "bitcoin vs fiat currency", here, the main goal is to discussing bitcoin as a unit of account in the future.
It takes a long process for Bitcoin to become a digital currency that has its own unit of value and Bitcoin must go through several main factors and Bitcoin must go through more mature stages, but for now I think Bitcoin is not yet stable and cannotto replace fiat currency.

There are also other reasons why Bitcoin cannot be used as a separate unit of value, such as prices often rising and falling very quickly, as well as government regulations regarding the determination of Bitcoin as a legal means of payment in general, like fiat and also other factors.
For Bitcoin to have stability and mainstream currency, it's a long argument. People always talk about this, but it's never been easy or even possible, even in the near future, because there are many factors to have this privilege, which are looking not possible right now. Its use is not as needed due to the fluctuation of price, which is always the biggest one.

Development is possible; it needs time and more use because as people enter and they have more use, things will come into a streamlined state, and it will work better, but all development needs enough time, as mentioned; maturity is key for this. After this, stability just because of these factors is not going to replace fiat in the near future.

For Bitcoin to become a global standard unit of value, it has to be stable like the US dollar. What are the chances that someday Bitcoin will have a stable value, i know that volatility will be greatly reduced in the future, but i do not think we will ever see Bitcoin remain stable like any stablecoin, there will always be constant price differences that will make it impossible for Bitcoin to become a unit of value generally accepted.

Bitcoin could be but there has to be a massive adoption, whereby the decimal numbers in Bitcoin would become quite stable to everyone. As I'm sure it's still confusing to most crypto enthusiasts up until now and to regular individuals it's way worse, that's why we often measure it in fiat before making a transaction. We could probably take Laszlo Hanyecz the first man who bought pizza with 10,000 Bitcoins back then that was due to the fact that Bitcoin wasn't measured in fiat and it was impossible to even know how much it would be worth..

So if you ask me I believe if maybe in the future Bitcoin truly wants to become a unit of account then there must be a mass adoption whereby Bitcoin becomes legal and folks no longer have to think about how much a Bitcoin would be worth in cash. It would be a system of Bitcoin payments that way, folks would get used to the decimal numbers and they wouldn't bother measuring it with fiat. That's all....
